As the card is virtual, it cannot be used instore as it removes the ability for them to be contactless.

Seems easy enough and was activated…

Seems easy enough and was activated quickly. I do not seem to see any way that this gets topped up though or how to do it. Would be nice to use for such purposes. All I have been able to do is use the credit I got (£125) from signing up with BT.

The problem is, that for larger purchases beyond the £125, I cannot use the card if it exceeds the credit amount. I would of liked to have been able to top up the card myself with more funds, and use it in full for a purchase for example of £200.

This card does work in the same way as a bank card and a lot of retailers will not allow you to use part payment for online transactions. There is an option to use gift cards with this card, just make sure that the remaining balance of the transaction matches the balance of the card, so you can use the whole amount.

Not actually used it yet but the procedure to activate it was cumbersome and imho not needed. Better to just issue a straight gift or money card.

Just a pain to setup then use and bad for security

Just a pain to setup then use.
The you have to ‘unset up’ to avoid complications.
Not a good promotion way of working.
‘Sharing’ so much data for one-off purchase is a very poor way of aiding security/privacy in this day and age.

The BT Pure Card is virtual, meaning that it will not be arriving via the post. Instead, it will be sent to you via email.

If you login to your account and click the card info tab, you will be able to view the card numbers so you can spend it online.
