Appalling website, owner runs the site with his ego!

I’ve been a model 12 years and had my profile deleted as I’m apparently fake. I had enough references for this not to be true but they just stop replying when they don’t agree with you anymore & the owner Russ makes snide remarks like a child - don’t have time for it. I’d rather use AF!

As for the reply they’ve made to this; I asked for links to past supposed accounts & they told me that I would have to contact their legal team for a response, so clearly another lie, just making it up as they go along. You couldn’t reply on your own platform but you’re quick to reply on a review that will affect you long term.

Furthermore; I have never used any of the names on the links they have provided apart from miss vixen. So carry on spouting nonsense, as I don’t ever want to return to such an awfully run site. If I took deposits and didn’t return them then I’d have negative references on AF - in-fact ironically one of my references on there states that I return deposits :)

No end of people have told me they’ve been banned with zero explanation, guess AF has just got that bit extra that your website lacks.

* To add I also find it strange you’ve responded to this review with apparent links to accounts you say you KNOW I have had with you, yet you’ve asked Trust Pilot to now ask me for personal evidence to ensure I’ve used your website. I have used it otherwise you’d not have replied to it with your explanation, my review will remain whatever you attempt to do to have it taken off. My experience was bad and I want to share it, maybe treat users better in future to avoid this and the many other negative reviews you have listed on here. It seems I am not alone at all.

I like to contact models on PurplePort because the site is inspiring and it draws good photographers and models and the tone of conversation is always pleasurable, polite and respectful which I think is very important for talking about nude art which touches intimate feelings in many people. PurplePort is the place where I like to come back to to find collaborators for future projects.

This is a great site for both models, studios and photographers of all levels.

The site works well enough and has an active membership. Sadly the owner doesn't take criticism of the site well and personally insults members in return. Which is fine. It's not a democracy. However, I found his whole attitude combative and childish and I didn't feel confident in investing any further time in building a presence there.

I've been a member for years now and can safely say, there is no comparative site available. Absolutely wonderful admin and team behind the site and I've been lucky enough to work with fantastic people who I've met through there

Scam agency who suspend accounts when they don't like the I will be taking legal action going to the media reporting to trading standards and the advertising agency

Worst site to have unprofessional staff do not remove risk of malicious communications which is now a police matter they are scam artists and rogue traders.
However it's run by a clique of 1 star muppets who'll ignore reports about the site founders, and unfortunately a number of model friends have also mentioned that complaints made against those who run the site fall on deaf ears or have lead to their own accounts being banned.

When I have reported accounts they do not take matters seriously and use any excuse not to investigate further or restrict or remove the perpetrator off the website and close the concern down without investing to me I find that very unprofessional. They do not know about the law or legal side and say they would help but leave it to myself to take further action against third parties. However isn't it their job to maintain the safety of their customers on their website?

The site has gone downhill with too many egotistical photographers and models on there thinking they are gods gift when they are amateurs and nothing special.

They do not take matters seriously hence why my review now.

The fact they'll ban or restrict you without warning for inconsistent reasons and then refuse to investigate when you've worked for multiple years to maintain as professional a working relationship as possible is highly annoying.

Use Starnow, MadCowModels or Model Mayhem.

As at least they do have policies in place to support their customers

I'm quite peed off with purple port. I have been a member for 4 months and I can say upto now everything was going great only today I received a message saying my account as been deactivated by the owner of the group! No email, no warning, no nothing. It'd be okey if I was overstepping the rules but they was no reason to delete my account 🤦‍♀️ my references have gone and so my images. Definitely avoid.

I have been using PurplePort for a number of years now and I have to say that it offers a great way to network with models and other creatives. The site has undergone a number of upgrades over time and is very easy to use and the customer support is excellent.

Purpleport is a most valuable tool for any photographer.
Much better than other sites in this field. PP is easy to navigate & in particular I like to ability to see upcoming castings & events & respond on the well laid out message page. Thoroughly recommend Purpleport.

I use purpleport to host my portfolio and connect with other photographers and models in my region. It's rather handy, website tools are good, images can be restricted for NSFW or adult material, which is very handy.
There are protections for new members and the internal messaging and casting process seems to work well. No complaints so far.

As an artist, who's studio practice focuses on the human figure, there are limited opportunities to exhibit and share my work with like minded artists, models and the general public. PurplePort has offered a wonderful place to exhibit my work as well as the opportunity to discuss aspects of our mutual interest, and provide and receive feedback from our community. Although the majority of members are on the other side of the ocean the response I receive on a daily basis has been of great value.

I've been with Purpleport for many years now and I'm still addicted to it. I've met and shot with so many models - professional and amateur. A great site both for networking and for inspiration.

I joined PP because I needed more models than my network for an art project. So finding local models with the look I wanted, for my characters, was the idea. As a photographer of 40 yrs, I found to be a good resource to cast for my characters. The site is good and searching can be fine tuned. And working your portfolio is easy. My only quibble is that models inactive for more than 90 days show up and you have to mentally make a note of such, maybe a dormant status can be worked in system. I joined just before covid hit so for 18 months everything was on hold, but now everything is going I am starting to shoot more for my projects.

When my photography moved into studio and model work, everyone told me I needed to join this site. Although I have booked shoots through it, I never found it particularly useful, and eventually closed my account. For me it never really lived up to it's claims.

First the reference system, which should give an indication of how reliable a model/photographer is. Well, not really. The amount of positive references someone had was really not a predictor of whether they would turn up for a shoot or not. I know from both my own perspective and from speaking to other photographers, there is a reluctance to leave negative reviews even if they are justified. Also when leaving a negative review there is no option to specify what the problem was (although I understand this to come extent).

Putting you in touch with a vast amount of models? This is greatly exaggerated as an awful of the accounts are not active, but are left on there to give the impression they have far more members than they have. I did a search last year, and then checked when each person last logged on. Some of the accounts had been dormant for years, many for weeks or months. My conservative estimate would be that at least 60% of the accounts on there are not active.

Casting calls. Now this probably depends on where you are. When I put out a call locally, I either got no responses, or maybe a couple of people who did not match the criteria in any way. However, there were a couple of occasions when I was away in different parts of the country, and fancied a shoot. I was able to organise a model and a studio both times. In fact when I was in London, I received over 40 responses to my casting call, so I am sure this works fine if you live in a big centre of population.
Front page images (FPIs). This is a bone of contention with many people I know who have used the site. These are the images they use to promote the site. They do not pay you for use of your work, but spin it as a prestigious award. The problem is they tend to repeatedly feature the work of a tiny proportion of their membership, and certainly are not representative of what the vast amount of photographers and models on there produce. It is also notorious for cliques all voting for their chums, although PP devotees strongly deny this is the case. This means that rather than judging the quality of your work, some people will take this system at face value and decide whether to work with you (or how much to charge) on the basis of how many FPIs you have.

I cannot comment on whether this site is better than others such as Madcow Models, as when I look at these it tends to be the same people on them. Possibly these platforms have their uses when you are starting out, particularly as it allows you to accumulate references, but once you are a bit more established I think you can just as easily book shoots via instagram or by using people recommended by other photographers/models.

I entered the world of internet modelling & photography about 14/15 yrs ago, there were 3 main known sites, but none of them got everything right. Then along came Purpleport, took all the good bits other sites had, but importantly, dragged it into the social media age, transforming everything. Now, in UK, and growing further afield, PP is THE site, the GO TO place for all things modelling and the associated photography. It has a great community feel about it which I feel lucky to have participated in. Long may PP continue to be the number one site.

As a non professional but serious photographer Purpleport is the best resource for finding models in the UK. Other sites come and go but this one has lasted for many years, it offers support for models and photographers who may need advice on photographic matters as well as reference system which particularly helps beginners who will it daunting at first.

Purpleport Is a real option for anyone involved in modelling, photographers and graphic artists hobbyists and pro to share everything related of their works without the restrictive divisions; as you find in other similar platforms where the professional is always visible and the hobbyist always is relegated in an inferior division, and many prestigious names in this world of fashion, modelling, graphic art and relevant names of this media exposes their works and them can know and appreciate the novels and hobbyists works, an believe me, you will find hobbyists models, photographers and graphic artis really amazing publishing their works with no discrimination about professional experience, the palette of talents is evident in Purpleport.
