Q-tuners are the best pickups…

Q-tuners are the best pickups available.

They sound like nothing on earth, they are super crystal clear and as soon as you crack into some meaty overdrive they rip it up proper like. They totally destroy driven, ultimate power! And they WILL cut through the mix on anything if you make them. And you know you always wanted that? Remember that gig, and you were busting out that sweet solo that would make grown men cry and women like this weep for your manlove...

but your crappy stock pickups/EMGs failed to cut through and your awesomeness was simply lost to the chronicles of time. Buy these and you will cut through, without any doubt

They're awesome

They're awesome. They get a similar gain to most other humbucker type pickups, but they have the brightness of single coils in abundance. They also have a "presence" on the upper end that stays clean and defined even with lots of gain. The best description I can give is that it gets normal pickup tones with very present harmonics that don't seem to distort as much as the rest of the sound. It keeps a very crisp and well defined tone even with settings that would turn strat pickups into mud. The clips on the website are useless in the overall scheme of things.

Q-tuner

Ordered my pickups at Q-tuner and got them fairly quickly. Here Is what I think about them:

Clean: The clean tones I was able to produce were not only clear and crisp; they were also deep and very rich. The amount of sustain and the clarity of that sustain was spectacular and something I've not heard many passive pickups do on the neck position. Small hammer ons and pull offs registered well with this pickup and every move on the fretboard came through with shining clarity. For being in the neck position I was able to get some good "highs" out of it. A lot of neck pickups I come across can often sound muddy and drowned down; especially when you add effects.

Dirty: Being as I usually use the bridge pickup for distortion and overall heavy sounds; I felt I was still able to manipulate and dial in a good tone that would be suitable for hard rock or overall rock material. The high ends were still present and that is what gave the chords much of their clarity. Far too often do I lose notes in the fray of the distortion when using the neck pickup; however this was not the case. Pinch harmonics were a breeze and they were picked up with brilliant clarity and the amount of the sustain on each note was not only both long but it still maintained it's clarity without white noise coming from anywhere else in the room or the guitar.

The ultimate test for me would be to try one of these pickup in the bridge position and see what I could pull out of it. I was very satisfied with the sound, quality, lack of white noise, and the overall clarity and rich, deep sounds I was able to produce without needing to add a bunch of effects or EQ.
