A beautiful little hide away

We stayed at Cwt Celyn for 2 nights in the very hot weather. The accomodation was perfectly located, super quaint and completely spotless. However, I would say it's definitely built for normal Wales weather, not a heat wave!

I look forward to going again when it's cooler, to make better use of the hot tub, heating floors and heated towel rail.

Thank you to Sara for a wonderful weekend. I would highly recommend!

Pembrokeshire Hut - It was okay

Myself and my partner decided that we were going to go away for a week and stay in two parts of Wales, are first part of the trip was to Pembrokeshire and we decided to stay at the Pembrokeshire Shepard’s Hut and it was a visit with mixed emotions if we are honest.

Tim and Bev were great hosts from the start, they both visited us on our entry to their property and made us feel very welcome, Tim took us down to the hut and showed us around not only in the hut but the fire pit, the areas we could lounge around (if the sun had allowed us to) and then walked us through the use of the toilet which unfortunately is one of the big negatives which we will go into a little later!

So it rained and it rained a lot which without a doubt put a downer on the time we spent at the hut, we tried to remain positive however it did mean that we couldn’t just lounge around in the morning and at points felt very cooped up, this wasn’t helped by the need to use a dry toilet! Now in this area we understood the need for a dry toilet as it’s very difficult without running water to have a working toilet but due to the size of hut and the terrible weather no matter what you do the smell of the toilet would leak out and really make it an uncomfortable experience inside the hut, this actually leading to myself and my partner trying to hold ourselves until we went out to eat and so on.

The hot tub which is actually an extra £50 wasn’t worth the charge and we actually only used it once over the 3 night we were there and reason for this were simple! It is down at the front of the house, now you can imagine walking down there in your gown in pitch black isn’t the most fun things not to mention Tim & Bev are right next to this with massive windows so you do feel exposed slightly which made both us feel slightly uncomfortable. The hot tub it’s self should be relocated next to the hut, with the amount of space that is there it would make sense for this to happen and would have easily made those raining nights seem a lot better as we would have sat out in the hot tub at least.

Despite the above it was not all doom and gloom, Pembrokeshire is beautiful! The hut is placed beautifully and we managed to go to Tenby and the only average day we had and honestly, I would move there in a heartbeat it is stunning! The beach is beautiful, the people are amazing the boat trip was an experience! We have both said we would love to go back to Tenby on a warm day so we can really experience all it has to have! Folly Farm is close by as well, we often go to zoo’s but this is the first zoo we both felt we could really get close to the animals and I love the addition of goats!

Back to the hut! The fire pit was amazing, and despite us trying we unfortunately weren’t able to use it due to the weather but there is no doubt on a lovely evening with the fire roaring it would have been beautiful especially when you can hear the birds chirping and the bats flying about truly magical! The bed was an area we were worried about especially with myself suffering from shoulder issues however it was surprisingly comfy and the shower was fantastic, I wish I had that water pressure at home!

Overall it was an experience and for me and my partner it did make us realize we need a bigger place to stay when we are doing staycations, we need the ability if it is a bad weather day not to feel like we are on top of each other and unfortunately due to the size of the hut this was unavoidable. The lack of signal and Wi-Fi is great, it’s nice to be away from pressures of work however again when the weather and space limits you to being in the hut more often it does become an issue so if you’re to stay make sure you stock up on downloaded shows on Netflix!

Unfortunately, we wouldn’t look to stay again but to make this clear the hut is beautiful, the surrounding area is gorgeous and you are truly left alone but I do feel there are areas that Tim & Bev could work on such as the toilet, hot tub and Wi-Fi.

Thank you for a nice weekend.

This place is special

This place is special! This was our second stay here in Norwegian Wood, after staying here on the last 2 nights of our honeymoon. The addition of the wood fired hottub just adds to the relaxing atmosphere of the place. The hosts are very welcoming, interesting and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

First time glamping a success!

This was a first for myself my friend and her two dogs so we didn't know what to expect from our first time glamping but it was absolutely lovely! Nicola was very welcoming and helpful, the yurt has everything you need to relax and enjoy the beautiful woodland you are situated in. Very clean and very cosy and the most comfy bed! Tea coffee sugar was provided along with cutlery and crockery, tea towels, towels, a fridge is on hand and the shower and loo spotlessly clean. We walked into the town one evening and also discovered some beautiful country walks literally on the yurt doorstep. Will most definitely go back to discover more of this lovely little gem.

Honeysuckle Hut is Wonderful

We absolutely loved our stay at Honeysuckle Hut, it’s beautiful surroundings in the woods make it so peaceful and tranquil.
Our daughter enjoyed the pool, which is heated and visiting the pigs, goats and chickens. There resident cat Micheal took a shine to us, he was very friendly.
The hut itself has everything you need and is very cosy. Bedding and towels are provided which is a bonus I think.
The washroom facilities are basic but clean.
The owners are extremely helpful and very friendly. We would definitely visit again.

Wonderful!

The buzzardry is absolutely lovely. It outlived our expectations, and we had a wonderful time. The walk through the garden to the village is outstanding.
Our only problem, and it has nothing to do with the buzzardry, is that the pub in the village was closed. Also, we walked to the black duck only to find it doesn’t seem to exist anymore unless we got lost! Maybe update the info?. Wonderful place - Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Siôr is a real glamping gem

Siôr is a real glamping gem! A private North Wales hideaway with stunning views. We loved the Shepherd's Hut! Beautifully decorated, equipped with everything you need. We can't wait to go back. Our hosts were fabulous, making sure we had the best stay and everything we needed. We were lucky with the weather so we spent most of our time either in the hot tub or by the fire on the loungers. Of course we explored the area too as there is so much to see and do and the location is great for Snowdonia, the beach, walks, waterfalls and so many castles! Perfect couples escape from it all. P.s. it has great WIFI so you could even escape and work from there and no one would know!
