I bought and installed this module myself a few days ago. At first I was a bit upset, because the machine reacted quite slowly to the pedal press. But then I thought, maybe I calibrated the pedal travel in the wrong program,It was in R+ mode.
I should have calibrated in Off mode. When I did that, the pedal delay decreased, and the car became very fast in R+ mode. A little bit of that delay remained, I think because of the factory Ford security functions. I apologize to the XLR designers for the previous comment - maybe I was a bit in a hurry. Now I am satisfied with this module. Especially since it also performs the function of protecting the car.

Took me along time to install and deinstall the Chip due to check engine light issue. Returned it due to the mentioned issue. The real problem surfaced is the refund. They will refund you the money over 2 weeks AFTER they received the return! Have never experienced a seller who wanted my money so badly!

I’ve owned a Race Chip GTS since 2022 and an XLR5 + controller since 2024. The systems work as described. In other words, performance has increased, and the throttle response is noticeably more sensitive and faster.

Since I haven’t owned any other system before, I can’t make a direct performance comparison. Both systems are easy to install on your own using the instructions (the only part that was a bit tricky and fiddly on my vehicle was disconnecting the plug connections in the engine compartment). The app control via smartphone works flawlessly.

This Racechip gave absolutely no performance gains at all to my vitara 1.4 boosterjet mehv... So I contacted Racechip Germany through the app & their customer support was next to useless.. They suggested that my car was running maximum performance in standard form & thats why it doesn't improve anything, with absolutely no possibility at all of any hardware/software problems & to just send it back if I'm not happy...🤦 I have since fitted a competitors tuning box, which has massively improved the performance on every setting.. which was actually my 1st choice, until I read some RaceChip reviews on a swift sport forum (same engine etc) giving some impressive gains on an independent dyno, so i opted to pay the premium price & go for the RaceChip instead... lesson learnt
Racechip uk (Awsome GTI) have been brilliant though & swiftly processed my refund once they received this unresponsive unit back... So top marks for Awsome GTI & Zero for Racechip customer support unfortunately

Amazing product for me, I dont have any sort of throttle management for my old car which has has a modified turbo kit, its handy for me to be able to go into eco mode and it give me a way better consumption and not go crazy around town. The sport and race modes I have to tune down, I have sport in eco and race in sport + mode and play around but race + is far too pokey for and not suitable for my setup. Good to be able to adjust drive without having to mess around with my off board engine management. Also I had issues and they have dedicated customer support during specific couret hours and they were damn helpful and helped me numerous times. Good stuff guys thank you so much

Just installed the GTS5 Black (with OBD dongle) on my Peugeot RCZ R - 271HP/330Nm and tested right away. I complied with the installation booklet, starting from map#1 and increasing to 3, than 5, than 6. This is insane, at “Race” setup in the app (map #6) my car is barely controllable. The huge torq put on the FWD traction makes the car to accelerate in all gears like crazy. 6th gear is similar in dynamics like a regular car in 3rd gear @4000revs. Unbelievable. What I also noticed - smooth idling, bit less noisier, smooth running in all gears. Haven’t yet worked with the OBD in the app. Definitely a great add for your car, decent price. Most important - no interference with the car’s ECU, no stage 1. Etc tunning which can create all sorts of issues.

Bought this race chip for my bmw works ok however not that impressed with the rather misleading so called engine warranty when I tried to register my vehicle was told it was too old at 3.5 years so pointless as new cars have a warranty anyway very misleading imo also the plastic clips are crap this hey just snap for fun bit disappointed with my £350 purchase think about it b4 u buy

I've had my Racechip for just over 3 years and wanted to put it onto another car. I bought GTS which comes with a free upgrade to another car.
Unfortunately I have now found out this 'upgrade' only lasts for 2 years. Who changes their car every 2 years??
Chip is now worthless.
It would be far cheaper just to get a remap!

When i installed xlr on punto evo 1.3 mjet it was a different car totally, i was about to sell the car and it was even listed for sale but after installation of the race chip i have no intention of selling it anymore that how good it is.

Wanted to return chip, told I need to print label , advised didn't have a printer told basically tough, asked for labels to be sent, told no, basically they are not interested in helping once they have your cash, chip not used decided to get stage 1 instead, no quibble returns NO not true

I have a Volvo and was assured that installation would be simple. They mislead me. The information sent to me for installation (via QR code) was for a VW! When they have provided me info on how to install it the photos were for a Ford. When asked for information I was told to take my car to a garage. I have since found out that the whole front bumper has to be removed to fit the Racechip. I specifically asked if the bumper had to come off, they said was easy install!

They will tell you anything to make the sale then your on your own. The customer service/aftersales do not have the knowledge required to advise.

Thank you RaceChip team, my experience has been great! I received the product quickly and the install was seamless. I made a mistake in the order and CS email was rapid responsem problem solved.

The RaceChip wakes my vehicle up. I first used RaceChip in a 2015 MINI Cooperman S and now 2021 Audi Q5 45. Wow what a difference.

Just installed the Race Chip XLR on my BMW 523i E61. Just what the car needed. This is what it should have been from the factory.

Ive had a racechip tuning chip for my Skoda superb, my Skoda yeti - a throttle response unit for both those cars and my tuned bmw 530d touring and they have all been wonderful. I’m about to buy a throttle response unit for my tuned bmw x5 35 d as they say I can run it on the same app as the other car. Fantastic well done boys keep it up. Thanks

My impression with the company (not the product itself) is not a good one. If one lives outside of the EU as I do, one is NOT subject to the EU's vat tax. I live in Canada, I am completely exempt from it. You think I get those silly customer service reps to understand that?

I wanted to purchase the RS chip for my 2018 Escape, the website states (right in front of one's face) VAT is included in price EU 279 VAT included). The price should be 279 - 50= EU 230. When one goes thru the process of the checkout stating that the item is being shipped to Canada the VAT is not removed & on top of that a shipping fee is extra when the ship fee is supposed to be included in the price. Try to speak to a customer service rep & *the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing*. One rep gives you a different answer to the same question, they are clueless on this subject, will repeatedly tell you that you HAVE to pay the EU VAT tax. It killed the sale dead in its tracks.

Bought a race chip march 2025, installed in my ml 350 diesel bluetec, seemed to be a slight increase in performance but I was getting occasional hiccups and app not working, the check engine light also came on, i removed racechip and check engine light went off, I contacted racechip asking to return it, they kept replying with solutions to remedy it and asking me to keep it, eventually they sent me a return shipping label, it is now stuck at customs in Germany, I contacted racechip asking why it’s stuck at customs for two weeks, they said they contacted UPS and were waiting for a reply, I contacted UPS immediately and was told racechip needed to contact customs and apparently racechip had not contacted customs nor UPS as they claimed and had not supplied required clearance documents ( no fees due) so it’s on their end, not sure if this is intentional to leave it sitting at customs so return window passes, but certainly looks suspicious, there are other complaints online re: racechips difficult return process, especially when returning for a faulty chip, am skeptical, looks like will have to dispute charge with credit card company and file complaint with BBB . Ps, apparently racechip have just disputed this post, I have all documentation to prove this review is genuine and that I was a real customer.

I bought the top of the line race chip for my 2015 Mercedes C400. Easy to install and worked great. After I sold the car and bought a 2022 Audi TTRS I sent it back to them for a reprogramm for free and I ordered the correct wiring. It was no issues at all. I installed it in my TT and it worked great. I have had no issues with Racechip whatsoever. Customer service has been great.

Instruction very very well done with specific pictures. It took me 25min to get it installed and operationnal.
Sensation is great and the app works pretty quick and well.
