Rackspace Only Makes Money Through Fraud
Rackspace is doing everything they can to make it impossible to cancel our account. We decided to change from Rackspace to Linode (which was an immediate upgrade) toward the end of last year. Upon ending service, Rackspace canceled server access and deleted our accounts. However, it turns out that we had another service running that also needed to be cancelled, except that required that we be logged into their system. Service tickets and their awful, incomprehensible overseas customer service repeatedly direct us back to log into their service which don't exist and for which password recovery does nothing. The only good news here is that they were charging my personal American Express card and that the process of disputing the charge and preventing future charges was very easy. Best thing I can think to do now is let others know our experience and prevent them from having the same frustration.
After losing ten of thousands of emails…
After losing ten of thousands of emails from our wholesale division, I now cannot get a single person in their supposed “PST file” department to even respond to a ticket.
It’s a black void of nothingness. They sound lost and confused, meanwhile we still don’t have access to a decade worth of data from a division which generates 70% of the profit for a six figure business.
We’re getting ready to file a formal complaint with the State’s Attorney’s office.
The customer service centers they’ve outsourced to are a joke.
Possibly the worst MS 365 reseller
They used to be good up to 5 years ago. Their support and billing departments are just useless and they keep charging us for services we do not need.
Use at your own peril.
Absolutely horrible service and support
Switched auto-pay account
Continuing your Rapid response and friendly interaction during the process - Yay Rack space!
Response time to issues
Prompt initial response and resolution to issues, lag between 1st and 2nd level tech's reduced from 5* to 4*
Beware! This company is not trustworthy!
After waiting months for Rackspace to recover my emails that were the result of their failure to secure my data, I find there are large gaps of missing data. I'm screwed! My staff will spend hours generating work that was lost. Customer Service at it's worst. They are not competent to secure or store your data. Beware before your f**ked.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Too expensive. Waste of time, energy & money.
The customer service teams send you round and round between departments. The live messaging service works well until you ask a technical question and then they just don't bother responding.
I deleted my account 2 months ago (with confirmation from Rackspace) and removed the payment details and they continue to debit money from my account. I have just had to put a block on my bank account.
Had to add a block on my card since…
Had to add a block on my card since they cannot seem to cancel my service.
After the outage I kept service until they were able recover my email. 25 minutes on the phone with the company and they then right a ticket to refer me to another department to cancel my service. Stay away from this company
Costs Skyrocketed Because of Their Bad Customer Service and Oversight
Moving to Rackspace cost us $7500 more than staying with AWS and all of that cost was due to their horrendous customer service. We inquired about why costs were higher and it took them 6 months and dozens of calls for them to diagnose a problem they should have alerted us to as a part of their oversight and management. DO NOT switch from AWS to Rackspace!
Throwing money in a firepit would make me feel better than spending it with them
Support makes a mistake and commits us to more licences that we need, for an annual subscription.
Refuses to fix their mistake, technical managers get pulled in who promise credit notes but don't deliver.
It's been over a year now, and numerous follow-ups, and still nothing.
Our account manager just refused to deal with it.
And now, after asking for the process to move away from them, just stops responding.
This company has become a joke.
Worst support and double charging
Been with rackspace for a number of years. after the hack in dec they are just downhill.
first they never told us its a hack - lied to all customers like us for weeks that it was not an issue.
we lost emails for over a week
then the hassle of forced switching to exchange online from hosted exchange and rackspace email.
took months to get the old hosted email account data which now we have to manually migrate cause they have no systems to automate that!
then in feb they double charge us
1. upgrade fees - you forced the upgrade on us and we still need to pay
2. charge for both exchange online and rackspace emails when only one is active
been chasing support for 3 weeks now - after submitting a ticket. each ticket is responded after days and not providing any solution.
we are moving to another company now. rackspace service and support have gone down the drain!
Email reliability problems and Terrible Support
Terrible. I have been a rackspace customer for 10 years and in the past year they have fallen apart. They should replace their "Fanatical Support" tagline with "Frustrating Support". This is not related to their ransomware problem in December 2022 but general problems with their rackspace email service. I have had several outages (also...ditch the 99.999999% uptime claim). Current outages is going on 2 days now. Their front line support can't triage or solve any problems.
On my first call the agent put me on hold and never came back. I waited 30 minutes then saw an email that she had created a ticket for me. The second agent had me jump thru hoops changing passwords even though it was obviously not the problem. The last agent that I spoke with told me that their back end support only works M-F 8am-5PM. (!!!)
I am in the process of transferring to another email provider.
Has anybody else been charged almost…
Has anybody else been charged almost twice as much as normal in February? The explanation is the transfer to Office 365 following the ransomware fiasco that made me lose weeks of mail, customers and money, as I was on the phone for 7 hours from Europe. They raised a ticket last week and nothing has happened. Deplorable customer "service". I hope they go out of business as soon as I have transfered my account to a normal company.
Rackspace is a Nightmare
I had hosted exchange with rackspace. I was affected by the ransomware event and could not access business email for several days. Was a nightmare. But I also had regular personal email with them. When I told them to stop charging me for exchange they cancelled my personal email. I had no idea until the email stopped working. All of my personal email has been deleted. I have called several times. They “transfer” me and then the line is dead. I hope they rot in hell.
Constant issues with e-mail server
Constant issues with e-mails not populating in the e-mail client even after a fresh install with Outlook. Customer support live chat is never available and phone support is a joke. Ughh we made the switch over a month ago and wish we would have picked a different company :/ Time to switch
Never had any issues with my account.
STOP OUTSOURCING CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Outsorcing to countries where English is a second language needs to end. This practice is a slap in the face to thier customers. The amount of frustration this causes it just not worth it.
Support has gown to zero
We have been using rackspace for nearly 6 years. There support was very good before but since last couple of years, it's gone down totally. Their chat support is totally useless. They just don't have the skills. They now don't even bother to answer serious issues. Just avoid using this company.
I'm an IT Consultant and have used…
I'm an IT Consultant and have used Rackspace for the past 15 years. They WERE a very good company with truly Fanatical support, but the past year the company has gone downhill dramatically. Support is now overseas with ESL agents, and lots that are not trained and lack the technical skills to support us IT providers. I am no longer recommending Rackspace to ANY clients.
