We had a new boiler fitted and the Radbot 1 thermostats were also fitted to the radiators. In my opinion, they are are not really fit for purpose as certainly in my case they make random vibrating / mechanical noises in the night which wake you up, so not ideal for sleeping. The only fix for me is to completely unscrew them and remove them from the radiator, but then you have no control over the radiator temperature so I'll order a different model. I'm not sure why this problem wasn't checked before being released to the public? It seems many others here are reporting the same problem.

Like all the other reviews I think these radbots are a complete waste of time and Radbot should be held accountable for their product, they do not work , my heating works like it used to before these supposedly eco valve were fitted ie.. I control the boilers thermostat as that is the only way to get heat where I want it . These radbots do not tell the boiler to kick in when the temperature drops low enough, how can the boost work if it can’t tell the boiler to send hot water through the radiator. I will be taking this up with my councillor as this is a blatant rip off . This company does not want to help as you can see that everyone they have replied to is with a standard computer generated response.

Can not stop lights from flsing done what it says nothing happens replaced batteries put it back on and still flashing whats the pointin following these instructions they dont work

One word cr@p what's the point in going into a room and waiting for it to warm up? You want it warm when you enter it bloody AI is useless would not recommend at all

Reply from Radbot
All I want is some sleep but the sound of these bloody valves going day and night is waking me up. My heating is all over the place. Radiators upstairs not coming on half the time. I want my old xalves back. Given the amount of complaints why are ukem still fitting them? I have had to call British gas out at cost to myself surprise, surprise. I am disabled and getting down to fart about with valves and I can't see the numbers is not good. Thank you in advance for your automated response that will do nothing to help me.

Had a new boiler installed on a govt. Scheme and Radbot TRV vales put on the radiators. The house is cold there is no way I can control the comfort of the house. Of course I’m going to save on gas bills as the heating never comes on. The idea of radiators not coming on in the dark or when there’s no movement is the most ridiculous idea, I want my house warm when I get up in the morning not having to wait for a radiator to decide if I’m cold enough whether to switch on or not.

Radbot are useless. Noisy, turn on/off when they want not when i want. Plumber coming to remove them so more expense. Wonder how much they earnt through eco4 for these crap items????

Fitted by government echo grant ,now will have to pay out to get basic ones fitted old ones worked fine.
Turned on heating for this coming winter same issues as last year!!!

I agree with the vast majority of reviews. I cannot control my heating. Switching a radiator off by the Radbot valve is not possible. Switching the valve to frost level leaves the radiator at full on maximum heat. Why would anyone pay for these? I am hoping to replace them all before we go away for 3 weeks!

What a load of rubbish had them fitted though eco 4 grant there suppose to have batteries fitted none of mine have .plus went to change radiator it dosnt close valve dosnt have a 0 on it lowest is frozen pic rubbish

I had the Radbot1 TRVs installed on all radiators via the ECO4 scheme last June. They seem pointless.
I think the one in my two year old's room was adjusting early in the morning and waking him up. They're also just another thing to worry about changing the batteries on.
I contacted UKEM and asked them if someone could come out and change them back to the standard TRVs and they sent someone the following week. Now back to the good old fashioned ones and happy! Oh, and the little one is sleeping way better!

Radiators coming on by themselves sometimes not every night early hours of morning when it's not that cold waking me up even when thermostat 0 and radiators on frost level the lowest level you can put them had to put them on frost level as 3 or 4 was coming on every night waking me up and being to hot how can this be saving me money also I feel no longer in control of how i prefer my heating. I still put my heating on plenty by adjusting the thermostat when I want with radiators still on frost level as it would be a nuisance to keep adjusting levels and it works alright, but if you don't to want to be woke up like me do not get they rubbish.

I had these fitted with the ECO 4 grant , they are the worst things ever. I have now given it five weeks and my house is constantly freezing. They continually make a noise at night in my bedroom but certainly does not bring the temperature up correctly according to my thermostat. The eco-grant people literally told me they have had nothing but complaints about the Radbot’s and are now coming back to change them to the traditional TRV’s
Do not waste your money!!!
Its taken you 7 months to reply and i no longer have the radbots .. regards Kathryn

Had these fitted on Monday and since then my two bedroom radiators have been freezing. They are set on 5 but just please themselves when they come on, most of the time the radiators are freezing cold and as for the boost button that's pointless too. Do not get these useless things fitted as they are absolutely crap.

Had these things fitted as part of the ECO4 grant with an ASHP system. These valves are cr@p to put it mildly !
If you're not in the room they shut off, making the room cold, then supposedly they know when you're in the room and they open up to the desired temp - not true ! Already I have two that don't work properly or as they should do, work room is freezing cold for 2 hrs before the rad gets up to temp.
These things are getting replaced - you can buy TRV heads on Amazon that just swap over so that's what I'm doing and binning these things !

What a scam radbots are costing me a fortune to run. We should all get together and put a claim in to the government and radbot for compensation for the extra cost in gas these are using. Yet another scam by this government.

What a load of utter rubbish.
Radbot you done a good job of convincing the government of your product but you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
What you sell isn’t fit for purpose.

These things are a joke had to take them all off and had to get a plumber to fit normal valves rooms we’re getting boiling
Hot and they wouldn’t turn down or off

Awful. House is freezing. Had these fitted a few weeks a go by a government scheme. My house will not warm past 16 now. Actually costing me more money in gas. Have to go round keep pressing them on. Nearly all my walls are outdoor walls so this is a cold house anyway but it was much warmer with normal valves and cost me less money. Company said my house would be warmer and costs would be cheaper. Complete lie

Reply from Radbot
had these fitted on a cold Monday morning, person fitting them said that if you have a room you dont want heat in or not used it will direct the heat to the other radiators in the house. sounds good. came back to a freezing cold house, boiler was constantly firing up as due to health issues we have our house at 20 degrees constant. will not go above 18 degrees. was never told they have batteries in them, the vibrating and noise is a pain, and the house is constantly cold. the boost buttons only work for a short time, and 5 days later we are having them replaced with the original valves. may be of use in a warmer climate area, certainly no good for the north of Newcastle.
