What happened? How does something great go so bad so fast.
I've purchased thousands of dollars of gift cards from this site and its predecessor, Raise, for years. In the last 6 months or so, the major retailers (Amazon, Target, etc.) % discount became almost nil. Understandable, but the hassle isn't worth it for .5% ($0.50 on a $100 gift card). I continued to buy others that were consistently around 10-11%, occasionally higher. Then something happened in the month of June. First it was the platform fee. So 10% became 9%. Then suddenly there is nothing above 5% anyway, and the only 5% ones are for nominal amounts making the savings less than $1.00, and then the platform fee gets added back. I can't figure out what the point is anymore. This used to be the best until June, but I'm leaving for now.

long time customer to Raise/GCX…
I am long time customer to Raise/GCX until today. I went to look for my normal gift card and now with a platform fee. What the hell is a platform fee? Why make an excuse to take savings away from the customer. You are already making a profit on the cards do you really need another 10% of the savings amount? With all the prices going up and a customer trying to save a little the nerve to take money away from the buyer. It may not seem like a lot to you but to the customer the savings keeps them coming back until now. I will purchase from other card sites going forward.

I can't access my gift cards. I have over $600 of funds in the card there is not contact number and I the chat is very unresponsive

I really wish I had read all the…
I really wish I had read all the reviews before making any purchases. A 2.5-star rating is already concerning—and that was before they started adding a processing fee!
Buyer beware: Only buy gift cards from this site if you plan to use them immediately. I was purchasing them when the discounts were highest, not necessarily intending to use them right away.
This is the first time I've ever bought a gift card from an online site that ended up being completely unusable. Unfortunately, because I was just a couple of weeks past their 90-day guarantee, they refused to help in any way.
I purchased a $500 gift card. While I’m not asking for a refund to my credit card, I would have expected, as a long-time customer, that they’d at least offer a store credit or a replacement toward another gift card—especially if they want to earn a 5-star review, and keep my business and referrals.
What’s most frustrating is that had they verified the card’s balance before selling it, they would have known it was worthless. That kind of oversight is unacceptable.
Disappointed doesn’t begin to cover it.

I used to love this company...
I used to love this company.
Now the service isn't what it used to be. I ordered a bunch of Apple cards and one of them wouldn't activate and work in the store at the time I was trying to buy my macbook, so I reported a problem with the card. The next day they told me the card was fine, so I told them that I had already made the purchase and wanted to give the card back for a refund because it didn't work at the time it was supposed to. After DAYS worth of emailing back and forth because I couldn't talk to a real human, I finally gave up and disputed the charge. My credit card ruled in my favor and then GCX locked my account. I waited a couple weeks and then tried to have it unlocked and they charged me the whole charge AGAIN! I complained again and they reversed all but that last card that wouldn't work the first time. Very greedy... make it right and I'd gladly revamp my review but for now I'm out almost $500 because they won't take their faulty card back. Despicable action for a guy that's been with you since 2015!

Account locked - zero response from support
Account locked - no response whatsoever from the (very clearly lack of) “customer service” after FOUR separate email attempts to both support at raise.com as well as social at raise.com. I left a review on Apple & was instructed to email social at raise.com. Emailed twice, April 23 & May 6th with no response whatsoever. Very frustrating for someone who intends to spends literally tens of thousands of dollars on this app (I run a sneaker business). The lack of response, account lock, and zero help is extremely frustrating and very unprofessional. I can see why there are so many negative reviews.

No support
Account is locked and I can’t get in touch with anyone. I need my email to be updated on my account but the help desk is non existent.
Update: I have emailed them twice and submitted a form. Still no one has responded. Not sure how this company has any customers. AVOID

I'm surprised the reviews are so bad
I'm surprised the reviews are so bad. So far, my experience is great, though if that changes I'll update. I do not sell gc's on here, I only purchase and I purchase small amounts (under $200 at a time). Each card I have purchased has worked fine. They have not asked me to upload my i.d. or locked my account (so far). so as of now, I'm very happy. You can save a lot of money buying giftcards for things you would purchase for yourself anyway (like streaming subscriptions, various restaurants, department stores, etc).

Scam - Will take your money and leave
I just tried to order a giftcard for ebay and they locked my account shortly after sending payment and giving me the redemption code. It is my first purchase and they want me to upload my id and verify my idenity. I don't feel comfortable at all and it is my first purchase.
Scam
Edit: May 2nd, They reactivated my account, I tried to login, and then it said 'logged out successfully'. I then tried to login again and proceeded to see that my account wasn't 'really' reactivated even though my email said otherwise. And the next day, it said it was deactivated again. They ask for all your personal information before getting a basic giftcard. I can't buy anything (not even $5 card) without submitting my id or true identity. I understand it is essential to prevent fraud, but that should be for major purchases that are $100+ and repeated purchases. I, however, was sent by a referral and wanted to try it out and it is preposterous to want to see my id for a basic giftcard order ($5-20)
I do not trust sending money, because it will be on hold for 3-5 business days, and just because they tell you that it is resolved/reactivated on email or that they want to get it resolved on trust pilot, doesn't mean they won't turn around and deactivate your account again...right after saying it was activated and resolved.
If i were a customer, I would look elsewhere and/or not give more than $5-20 dollars , because it can be held/refunded back

Terrible company
Terrible company! I bought over $2500 worth of gift cards with them for hotels.com, uber, TJ maxx. They all worked well. Out of the blue yesterday they locked my account requesting to upload my ID. I did that and my account is still locked. Their chat is a fake bot that does not do anything. Their customer support is non-existent. STAY AWAY.
This is how they treat their customers.
A new company will take them over soon.

Do NOT sell with them!
I have used GCX aka "Raise" since 2018 and had no issues until now. I listed a $25 gift card on March 28th and it takes days for it to be "live". Okay, that's fine. But when it sold on March 30th, it said funds would be available April 1st. Cool, two days to wait I guess. Nope! April 1st, 2025 they implemented a new selling tier which means unless you sell $20,000 A QUARTER(!) you have to wait 14 days after the sale for the funds to be available for payout. So, promptly my funds were not available until days later to "request" payout which I waited patiently to request then April 15th. Today is the 17th and while it originally states 2-5 business days for PayPal under "withdrawal history" it says April 27th for expected payout! This is for $17 guys, it's not an obsene or suspicious amount of money. You really want your average seller to wait ONE MONTH for $17? Go elsewhere.

Lying about being out of service agreement
Ordered a gift card in January and had issues, they responded and resolved it right away. Ordered again on Saturday had issues and have had no help. They replied that I’m out of my service agreement, but how I just ordered a few days ago. I think they are assuming it’s the old order from January even though they can see that the order number and gift card numbers are different. Also the number is completely invalid it’s not like it’s been used, it can’t be used at all. If it’s not resolved by 3.28.25 I’ll have to file a chargeback with my bank and post negative reviews on all social media about their lying about the SLA to get out of refunding me.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!
SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!
I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD!
DO NOT DO IT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO LOSE MONEY!
Wow, I didn’t know it was more people having the same issue than me. This company is totally a SCAM, and if I were you, I would avoid them at all costs.
They keep your money, sell invalid gift cards, and provide zero support. Instead of taking responsibility, they tell you to go to a store to resolve the issue — even after you explain that the store can’t help because the cards were purchased through a third party. In the end, they do nothing to fix the situation and still block your account.
Here’s my story: I purchased $2,000 in Walmart gift cards from this TRASH company, only to find out they had technical issues and couldn’t be used. I contacted Walmart multiple times, and they clearly stated that only the company I bought the cards from (GCX) could resolve the issue. I even provided GCX with proof of my conversation with Walmart, reference number, a writing confirmation yet they refused to help.
Following their instructions, I paid someone to visit a Walmart store to get a transaction history, as I am living in Japan, and — surprise — the store confirmed once again that they couldn’t assist because the purchase wasn’t made directly with them.
Despite all my efforts, GCX still blocked my account unfairly. I’ve opened multiple cases — 428809, 417112, 417115, 417116, 417117, and 418491 — and this is only the first ones! I have contacted them more than 15 times, and they still refuse to help.
I’ve been a loyal customer, and this is how they treat people. I’ll keep pushing until they fix this, but I highly recommend staying away from this company if you don’t want to risk losing your money like I did. I’m glad my bank got me cover.
Worst company ever!!!!!!
Worked once, now I'm out $189 and waiting...
I was recently introduced to this site by a good friend, who has had success and is happy with the cards she purchased. My first purchase of a Home Depot card went well, so I felt more confident in the next purchase: a $200 amazon card. I immediately went to apply the card to my Amazon account, and got the message that the code wasn't valid. I immediately reported the issue and have heard nothing back after four days. I tried another route to get support and got a very cryptic email back. Meanwhile, I've been charged the $185 for the $200 card. I feel I will be forced to contest the charge via my credit card company if I don't hear back in the next day.
The 90 day money back guarantee doesn't see to be worth much if you don't hear back from customer support.

I've sold several gift cards on the GCX website and have had no issues yet. It does seem to take a bit longer to get your payout, I'm actually still waiting on one but other then that so far it's much better then some of the other sites, where they just drain the funds from your gift card and have no real customer service. I lost a 100 bucks last month trying to different site and wish I would have just stuck with GCX.

Worked fine!
Worked great. Was definitely scared with peoples comments on here and on Reddit though. I just watched card prices over a couple days and felt like a few sellers were around for a while that it was probably ok. Redeemed without issue.

Damn
Damn, really sad. Here to save people some reading and sear hing. Gcx used to be raise. When it was raise apparently it worked great but since it's become GCX it's hard to find any positive reviews anywhere. Seems almost every card they sell is a 0 balance or gets drained right after selling and their customer support does not help or takes weeks to resolve issue. I was going to buy 1500 in southwest giftcards, but after reading all the reviews on here, bbb, and Google play I can't bring myself to take the risk. Sad they can't get their shit together.
