con company do not use they will take your money and do nothing for you DO NOT TRUST !!!!!!

Poor. Throw your money down the drain and it will be less stress for you. Trust me, they have no intention of saving money for you. Their only intention is to get you to pay them money and then do nothing.

R & R got me refund on overpaid rates. It took a while but it did materialise and I was very pleased with the outcome.

Took £954, promised to get refund backdated and reduce weekly costs. Ignored all requests for updates. Soneone will call you back, never did.9 months later I contacted valuation dept. They told me r&r had withdrawn my appeal 3 months earlier. When asked about a refund they said we don't refund admin fee which they said was £954 - disgusted

R&R keep deleting me saying I’m a jealous competitor
I’m not
Took them to small claims won
Judge had read reviews on here £950 + costs
Scammers just take the clowns to court

please believe bad the reviews. I paid £954 as they promised to reduce my business rates. They did nothing and kept putting me off, then withdrew my application then said they they are keeping the money for admin! Horrible people that take money off hard working small businesses trying to get some money back

Avoid at all costs.

I signed a contract, then discovered they were scammers. I tried to cancel and a very slick and prepared barrage of letters came my way. Clearly they had more experience in the court system than in the planning system.

Do not sign any thing with them.

Stay away at all costs or COST you it will, and they will do absolutely nothing for you in return, this is a GENUINE review of this company, i payed them £1000 to appeal the rates on my garage and they have done nothing in the time scale allowed, every time i phone them i get passed from person to person with no answer to my questions and they never reply to emails.
i shall be claiming my money back through the courts from this incompetent excuse of a company!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT USE this company. As many others have said, they are 100% scammers. I was done out of £1K myself. They appear very professional when you meet their 'surveyor', a lovely guy. They even progressed to the point of getting themselves registered as my official agent with the VOA, but I now understand that's just to keep the ruse going, as it involves zero cost or effort on their part.

I only wish I could meet that surveyor again now...

Rates and Rental cold called our business and convinced my boss, a business owner, that they could save him money on his business rates. He passed them to me (his P.A.) and I said that I would only go ahead if there were no upfront costs. The lady on the phone assured me there were not. I also questioned some of their bad reviews and they said that it was a competitor trying to sabotage their business. They sent a "surveyor" to our salon and our salon manager signed the paperwork on my behalf as I had instructed her. They then called and asked for the £1200 we owe them. When I disputed this they said "check the paperwork" and if I did not pay they will take us to court. The man on the phone was quite firm about this. This scared me so I paid. This was in October 2017. I have called a few times and they assured me things were going ahead. I called the valuation office and nothing has been done. I then called a chartered surveyor who has advised me that our rates are correct and it would be pointless appealing. His advice is to appeal in 2 years. He has been in the business for 30 years and knows what he is talking about. This is a genuine review, DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY

Rates and rental got our rates reduced to zero, together with a
large refund from the council.
The service was professional and the team members polite.
It does take a while but be patient and your refund will materialize.

The outcome of the application by Rates and Rental to reduce our Business Rates was beyond our expectations, not only reduced from 18800 to 1550 meaning no rates payable at all in the future but a substantial refund as well! The crown Inn looks forward to a more profitable future thanks to the efforts made by Rates and Rental
I would commend them to anyone.

We contacted Rates and Rentals after we were unable to get any update or information regarding our challenge from the VOA. We received a prompt visit and a comprehensive survey of our properties was carried out.
Rates and Rentals picked up and took over our existing claim and within 12 weeks we achieved the resolution we had been hoping for - a reduction in our Business Rates!
Rates and Rentals maintained contact with me throughout and were always approachable and swift with thier response.
Rates and Rentals were open to negotiate a reduction in their fee as our case was known as a ‘take over case’. We successfully agreed a lower and fairer fee and I would happily recommend their service onto any business who believe they are paying their local authority above the odds!

I have had the same problems. They took 9 months to send an application to the VOA. They only did this as I sent this company an email a day before so they only drafted the application due to me chasing. I have signed up with the class action against this awful company.

Fortunately there is a group action being formed which should put these guys out of business. Oh how they deserve it! Never have i seen such blatant theft and fraud on this scale.

Never, Ever, Use this company.

We mistakenly employed the services of Rates and Rental Surveyors. They took over £1000 of our money and di not provide the service promised. We are not the only people with this problem.

Rates and Rental reported our review claiming we are not genuine customers but are continually emailing us.

Total rubbish, paid £1500 promised the savings would be more then this figure, savings came back at £250, called company rubbish response. now putting a solicitor on this case as mis sold! dont use these lying idiots

My experience was a lot better than everyone elses. They came to photograph the rooms and measure up etc, submitted the next day they aid. Then I got a letter saying the reduction was agreed and it would take effect immediatelty. All in all took about 3 months (lost a star because I was told it should be done in 2)

Signed the contract and got my reduction within 13 weeks. After reading these reviews I was very worried. Guess im the lucky one!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!
I was told by the so called 'Senior Assessor' that my company would make a saving of several thousand pounds on my business properties rates. The Assessor was so assured that it was a no brainer, I went along with it. (wrong decision)

The following week they chased me hard for the £1000 fee and then 22 weeks later I get told that there will be no change in my business rates. In those 22 weeks, I must have phoned the company a dozen times asking for information on the status, to be told that I would get a call back, and guess what...……….they NEVER call you back!!
The company should call itself, 'REAP & RIP-OFF'
