Took my money and ran

I paid for an upgrade (in November 2025). The company promptly took my payment, but I never got the registration number needed to activate the software I bought. Repeated email requests to the "support" address got no reply, nor did I get a reply to a hard-copy letter I sent. They apparently just took the last payments they could get and then closed down.

In 12/2025 Ordered Readerware 4 upgrade. They took my money but never sent the Reg Code.
No answer from any of their email address.
Tried to get a refund - no luck nobody can get a response from them.
I think they went out of business and just left the website up.

SUPPORT

Like another reader, I have been trying to contact the support site via email .I have emailed them numberous times. I have NOT received a response. Are they still in business. By being ignored, it makes me wonder.

Support? What support?

Had you asked me six weeks ago, I would have given them a 5=star rating. Unfortunately I hit a problem where I could no longer download the database to my phone. For six weeks I have been trying to contact them through their support email (the only way to get to them). They published that they have trouble receiving Outlook mail so I tried reaching them with two other email accounts and still nothing. As ridiculous as it sounds, I even sent them a letter by U.S. mail and that too was ignored. My only option at this point is to abandon their product and try to find another vendor of library software.

Excellent Data Base software for Books, Videos and Music

Sorry, this may be lengthy!

I have a large music collection and have long wanted to catalog it since I can no longer remember what I own. A long time ago, I sought a data base program designed for music. At the time, there were perhaps 3 from which to choose. I chose READERWARE.

Initially, the software was OK but a pain to use to catalog an existing large collection. While the software allowed AUTO cataloging the then available sources, that included Amazon.com did NOT always provide full information. The alternative was manual data entry - easy with the software but VERY time consuming.

Since I was cataloging NUMEROUS CDs and LPs, I did NOT look at each entry as it became part of my data base. I NOW know that all too many CDs were entered without track listings. This information has to be manually inserted as I discover the incomplete entries. Today, thanks to improvements in the software, missing data can now be easily downloaded from a few online sources, if it is available.

The GOOD news is that the software has matured over the years and now offers at least two excellent data sources (DISCOGS and AllMusic) for AUTO cataloging using UPC codes (N.B. not all CDs have UPC codes, but can still be automatically entered into the data base, just not as part of a group, but individually using a variety of search terms.

The software is easy to use for most of my cataloging purposes. However, it is far more complete in versatility than I need. It is designed to well serve the needs of a business, broadcast service, school or library! Plus, there is extensive online documentation.

But there is GREAT news about this company and its software that includes book and video cataloging in addition to music. CONSISTENTLY WONDERFUL technical support from very kind and patient people. Notably someone named Martin.

Customer support after the sale is VERY important to me. FREE support, after the customer PAID for a product or service, is CRITICAL to me and the reason I will NEVER again buy ANYTHING from the Apple Company.

IF you are looking for data base software for books, videos and/or music, I urge you to favorably consider Readerware!
