A very disappointing customer…

A very disappointing customer experience. I started an application, but my internet connection dropped on my iPhone and I lost my progress. When I clicked the button to restart the application, it was immediately declined — before I had even uploaded any identification or completed the application.

I was particularly surprised by this, given that I have a 98% credit score. I contacted customer service to ask whether I could speak with someone from the credit team to understand how the decision could have been made when I hadn’t even provided my identification, but I was told they were “in a meeting” and unavailable to speak.

I understand that applications may be assessed through automated processes, but being declined before I had even completed the application was extremely frustrating. I would appreciate greater transparency around how these decisions are made and better support when customers have questions about them.

Hi CW,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration. We can't do much about your internet dropping out but we can certainly help clarify the decision on your application.

As your review only includes your initials, we haven’t been able to confirm exactly who you are within our system or identify the application concerned. We would appreciate the opportunity to clarify the matter and look into your concerns further.

Please contact our office directly on 1300 355 729 and ask to speak with our Head of Credit, who will be able to discuss the matter with you and review the circumstances surrounding your application.

Best,

DO NOT sign up

DO not sign up! Realty Assist provided a $5k line of credit to my elderly mother, who was subsequently unable to sell her home. Realty Assist obtained a default judgement (my mother had no idea that a court date had been set), and they have now applied to the Federal Court to liquidate my mothers assets. Over a $5k debt! Absolutely unconscionable conduct and very concerning that they hold themselves out to be a 'trusted provider'. Be warned!

This company is horrible to deal with!

This company is horrible to deal with, the paperwork they require is more and very invasive than getting a home loan for 2 million dollars! What ever you send, they want more and more. They even demanded papers we don't even need in SA for selling homes

SOoooooo much hassling

SOoooooo much hassling , inundated with emails, sms's, have you sold yet? Its your responsibility to notifiy us when you have an offer.... etc etc.

No I'm not notifying anyone until the cooling off period is over, even then there is a chance that the sale falls through and the buyer looses their deposit.
I will pay the funds directly when the settlement is complete.

Worst first experience with this credit company

Worst first experience with this credit company. They did not ask the important credit related questions up front which determine whether people can get deferred payment facilities. they wanted all personal information upfront (for their database) and then made excuses to not approve the deferred facility making it impossible to proceed unless an upfront payment is made (and we are talking thousands of dollars) .
As a client of the real estate company I was inundated with multiple email copies of the marketing invoice which added pressure to get it paid before the property could go online with advertising. Additional Admin fees were not disclosed transparently on top of the interest fee originally disclosed for deferred payments before being expected to pay.
These types of funders will have detrimental longer term effects on the real estate company’s that use them in order to guarantee payment of their marketing costs.
People in the position of needing to defer marketing costs until their properties are sold are put into an impossible position with the tactics being used to pressure them into upfront payments. In my case the only option to pay was through this particular company for payment. I could not pay the real estate company directly in any way shape or form.
Be careful as many estate agents appear to be using this company in order to guarantee their costs.

You're the Ultimate Worst

Dealing with Realty Assist was one of the most infuriating and degrading experiences of my life. This company is a shameless, incompetent, and outright greedy operation that has no business existing. When selling my apartment, my real estate agent recommended their service to defer the $4,500 upfront marketing costs. It turned out to be the worst decision I could have made.
Realty Assist promised to cover the upfront payment, with repayment due after six months plus interest. What they actually delivered was nothing but misery, stress, and frustration. Their so-called "service" is a complete and utter joke. Whenever I tried to contact them by phone, they outright refused to have a conversation, demanding everything be done through email. This was clearly a tactic to stonewall their clients and avoid accountability.
And when they did bother to respond via email, their replies were nothing more than unhelpful, dismissive one-liners. Every interaction felt like an insult, and I was forced into a maddening loop of sending follow-ups and begging for clarity, only to receive vague non-answers in return.
This company’s communication is nonexistent, their professionalism is laughable, and their promises are outright lies. Even my real estate agent eventually admitted that other clients had also been burned by Realty Assist. So why does this garbage fire of a company even continue to operate? They prey on people during high stress situations and make everything exponentially worse.
Avoid Realty Assist like the plague. They are an incompetent, time wasting, nerve shredding disaster of a company that deserves to be shut down. They don’t deliver on their promises, they treat customers with utter disdain, and they’ll leave you regretting every second you trusted them. This isn’t just a warning, this is a demand: Stay. Away.
