One of the best AI retouching tools for wedding photographers

I recently started using Reblum in my photography workflow and I’m genuinely impressed by the results. As a wedding photographer, I edit a large number of portraits and close-up shots, so having a reliable AI retouching tool that delivers natural looking results is extremely important.

What I like most is that the skin retouching looks very clean and subtle. It improves the image without removing natural texture, which is something many AI tools struggle with. The results feel professional and consistent, especially for portrait and wedding photography.

Reblum also fits very nicely into a Lightroom workflow. You can use it together with Lightroom or Photoshop, but you can also simply drag images directly into the app. This flexibility makes it very easy to integrate into an existing editing process.

Another major advantage for me is that the software works locally on your computer. As a photographer based in the EU, privacy and data protection are very important to me. Knowing that my images are processed offline and do not need to be uploaded to a cloud service gives me a lot of peace of mind.

I also really appreciate that Reblum offers a lifetime license. Many AI editing tools require subscriptions or charge per image, which can become expensive over time. Having the option to purchase a lifetime license makes this a very attractive long-term solution for photographers.

I’m currently rebuilding my wedding photography business and preparing for the upcoming seasons, and tools like Reblum help me keep my editing workflow efficient while still delivering high-quality images to my clients.

Highly recommended for photographers who are looking for fast, natural looking AI retouching that integrates well into a professional Lightroom workflow.

Good results but no Affinity Photo integration for some reason

Reblum is great. I picked up the lifetime deal on Black Friday. Tested head to head, Reblum is a touch better than Retouch4Me's Heal and Dodge & Burn together (it's close). Reblum is easier to use and to tune. What bothers me is that there's no Affinity Photo integration. It would be good to be able to call Reblum in a macro sequence with other plugins.

Thank you for the review and for choosing the Lifetime license.
Regarding Affinity Photo: from what we’ve seen, the Photoshop plugin generally works well inside Affinity, and most users haven’t run into issues. That’s why we’ve usually recommended using the PS plugin for Affinity-based workflows.
If you’ve noticed any specific limitations or problems when using the plugin in Affinity, we’d love to learn more — it would help us understand where a native solution could add real value and how we should prioritise it.
If you’re open to it, please feel free to email us at support@reblum.app with a bit more detail. We’d truly appreciate it and are always happy to listen.

I like the professional results but the size of the files

Whilst I like the professional results, I'm concerned about getting an output file 5+ times bigger (in MB) than the original RAW.
I work in Ligthroom Classic and on big volumes (like weddings) it will require a lot of extra disk space.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re really glad you’re happy with the professional results and completely understand your concern.
Regarding file size, this is actually expected. RAW files are much more compressed, while formats like TIFF store a larger amount of processed data. With any software, saving a RAW file as TIFF will naturally result in a significantly bigger file, sometimes several times larger than the original.
Alternatively, you can send JPEG files to Reblum. In Lightroom, just select Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments and set the File Format to JPEG instead of TIFF. This way, the quality will remain excellent, but the file sizes will be much smaller and easier to manage, especially when working with large volumes like weddings.

Stunningly Good (on colour images)

I absolutely love this software. There's several ways to integrate with my workflow so it's quite flexible. And the results are outstanding! I can edit a portrait in my personal style, get the colours and overall look of the image sorted the way I always do... then I just let Reblum remove any blemishes and do the skin retouching.

It takes a few seconds per image, very reliable and does a better job than I could. It can batch process too providing consistent results across the batch. All the while not changing anything about the look and feel of the images, they stay exactly how I styled them, just with finished skin retouching applied. It's awesome how much time it saves without compromising my personal style!

I'm not exaggerating when I say I purchased a lifetime licence within about 15 minutes of downloading the trial.

The only caveat, the reason for 4 stars rather than 5, is that it doesn't really work on B&W images. One of the "workarounds" is to process colour images with Reblum then apply B&W conversion afterward. The downside with this is that Reblum produces JPGs, so you lose all the editing flexibility then when trying to apply B&W styles so that doesn't really work for me.

Hopefully with future training on B&W images Reblum could be improved in this respect. I'd pay again I really would for Reblum B&W being as good as it is with colour!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for choosing Reblum! We’re thrilled that it’s become such a valuable tool in your workflow.

I also wanted to let you know that you can export your images in TIFF format as well. This allows you to retain all the editing flexibility you need for further work, including applying black-and-white conversions without losing quality.

We truly appreciate your feedback regarding black-and-white image processing. Our team is constantly working to improve Reblum, and your suggestion for enhanced training on B&W images is invaluable. We’re committed to making Reblum even better, and we hope to bring those improvements to you in the future.

It's definitely worth it!

I've been using Reblum for some time now and I have to say, not even the Photoshop AI features work as smoothly.

I'm really impressed by the subtle to massive retouching automation for the skin of the subject and yes, also the subjects if the photo has several people. It's not just the blemishes, spots that are found, the skin texture becomes more homogeneous and yet it looks great and not just blurred, like with similar tools.

Reblum does a wonderful job of preserving textures and the photo's natural look, even with more extreme editing. Close-ups of faces or sections of them are also recognized, which is really a top feature for me and works great.

The interface is extremely clear, there are actually only two sliders in which you can set how much Reblum should intervene and edit, and otherwise there's a save dialog. Done. The batch functionality should not be forgotten here and is incredibly helpful for series. The integration into the usual programs has also been problem-free so far (in my case Photoshop, Lightroom and Capture One). Updates also work smoothly, you get informed by the interface that there are updates and with one click you can download and install them.

The only criticism I have concerns black and white photos or photos where image noise is relatively obvious or there is a lot of shadow. Here, the editing in the color area still has room for improvement and I am sure that this will come, but with black and white photos, however, the editing and processing with Reblum does not work so well yet. But if the photos are not pure black and white shot, in the end it is just a workflow problem, i.e. color photos through Reblum and then the BnW conversion.

As I said, all in all, I am very happy with ReBlum and the AI skin retouching. It does a great job, delivers very good results and the file size or resolution is not relevant either. It is easy to use, fast and a great relief for the way I work and a wonderful workflow addition. It's fun to use!

Regarding your feedback on black and white photos and those with image noise, we would appreciate it if you could send us some examples at support@reblum.com. This will help us better understand the issue and work on improvements. In the meantime, you might find it helpful to edit original color photos first and then apply black and white effects or noise.

Reblum has saved my life when it comes to….

Reblum has saved my life when it comes to touching up everyone that I shoot! I shoot weddings and models for brands so touching up skin is super important for me. Typically when I’d need to smooth skin out I’d have to move photos into photo shop, run actions, paint with brush, collapse and export. But now I can edit with the click of a button inside of Lightroom using Reblum! I also love that I can batch edit as well, such an amazing feature!!

Simple interface, good results

The App has a simple interface and does a really good job in skin retouch. You don't have to do anything but drag and drop your photos in there - Reblum App is doing the rest. Especially great for larger photo series where retouching would take hours.

Highly recommended! Ease of use. Solves 80% task in your post-production process. As a photographer for more than 20 years finally got an app that solves the most painful process in post-production. One thing I love about the app. Its straight forward no frills. From experience this makes more sense than putting dozens of features that you don't really need. I can only speak highly for Reblum. A must have app for your workflow.

Natural retouching yet useful

It is very simple to use, yet it does a great job in a very natural way. The most important feature for me is batch processing. I trust it to the point where I don't have to review each result after batch-processing many photos.
