Awful recruiting service
Worst recruitment service ever avoid speaking to Joe, he only has two connections on LinkedIn, mentions 40 years experience but none listed on his profile that adds up to 40 years and the website doesn’t work very well. Doesn’t seem like a good recruitment company.
I had a call from Joe Davis at 6pm, and learning that it was for a role I applied for I spoke with confidence in every word. Joe asked me about my previous role as he didn’t understand why I had left my full time job after 5 months. I explained that the company from the beginning promised me more responsibilities, more challenges, more opportunities and being there for 5 months made me realise that the last few months I didn’t have that many responsibilities, opportunities or that I wasn’t being challenged enough and that I was always trying to be proactive for months straight looking for work when I had capacity or letting my colleagues know that I was available to support them with anything. But even with those efforts there wasn’t much going on.
He failed to acknowledge that and pretended to give me advice, in which he just spent the next 5 mins speaking over the phone making me feel like shit saying that “No one is going to hire you because of that story” or “You seem unreliable as you only stayed for 5 months and went from a full time job to no job, like any job is not easy but you won’t know that until the first or second year” I also mentioned my previous experience in terms of being at a firm for nearly 3 years and why I chose to leave and he didn’t seem to have the slightest care. I knew I was taking a risk but because I also have a part time job I took it anyway.
He spoke about the fact that I was able to hang up the phone if I wanted to and said that they wouldn’t progress with my application further. I waited until he was done being rude and told him that I respected his advice and opinion but he doesn’t know what I am going through in terms of work and my experience, and he was just pretending to agree and was objecting every point I had to make. I had to stand my ground as it felt like I was being judged for no reason because of the time frame of how long I was at a company and not for my experience or my capabilities. Like I was open to hearing what he had to say as a recruiter however speaking in a condescending tone and not understanding why people make choices for things out of their control seems like he should not be in the recruitment agency at all. He had no soft skills or understanding of how and why I had to make such a big decision, and seemed to think he knew better.
I would avoid speaking or working with them, customer service skills are lacking and I don’t think it’s worth dealing with Joe directly he might ruin your evening with his words of “advice” AVOID AVOID AVOID!!
