Frustrating customer experience with auto renewal
Our company purchased a perpetual license from Redgate for one of their database products. We also purchased three years of maintenance. After the maintenance expired, we got an email from Redgate saying our maintenance renewal invoice is unpaid. They claim they sent us an email before the expiration of our maintenance agreement informing us that, “If your billing account is on recurring billing, and the quote is either accepted or automatically renewed, then payment will be automatically taken…” We looked at our account online at their website and could not find any place where auto renewal is even an option and told them we had no intention of renewing. After several emails back and forth with Redgate over a couple of weeks, where we believe they were insistent and unpleasant, we finally gave up and paid the invoice and asked them not to auto renew our product maintenance. As a result of this frustrating experience with Redgate, we will never do business with Redgate again.
