Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. The information on the website is misleading and not clear, which led me to believe the service would do something it simply doesn’t. After realising it wasn’t what I wanted, I contacted Redact multiple times requesting a refund and received no response at all. Poor communication and lack of customer support are unacceptable. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.
Horrible scam company
Horrible scam company. THIS IS A SCAM. The positive reviews are SCAMS. It did not do as it was supposed too, it delete 2 weeks and then said that everything was deleted. It's not worth the money AT ALL. this company is a scam operation! The creators of this do not care about customers and care about getting as much money as they possibly can. DO NOT PURCHASE. They know hacks to get good ratings on iPhone when it doesn't actually work, if you scroll through the reviews it's nearly all negatives with a couple of their fake positives. But somehow it still comes up at 4.4 stars. Go to fiver, and just pay someone to do it for you.

This was exactly what I needed!
This was exactly what I needed to purge a large amount of direct messages from an old Discord account. I ran the program in the background of my PC while I went about the rest of my day. If it weren’t for this program, it would have taken me literal weeks, if not months, to accomplish the same task. Very user-friendly. Would highly recommend!
react.dev has been great
Excellent staff, great service
Though I had some troubling closing out my account and was charged for services I was unaware I would be paying for, the staff at redact.dev was very cordial and respectful towards my refund request, and promptly returned the funds to my account.
But before all of that, the services I had received from redact to delete my twitter footprint were rather robust! There were a few leftovers that did not get picked up in the sweeping mass deletion, but the tweets were few and far between. The service they provide is legit!
Misleading and shady
I signed up for Redact expecting a simple $7.99 monthly subscription, which is what they advertise in large, bold text. Only after being charged did I notice that in tiny, light-grey print they state it’s actually a one-time annual charge, not monthly. This felt extremely deceptive, and I wouldn’t have subscribed if that had been made clear upfront.
I contacted support the same day to request a refund, and they refused—blaming it on my “negligence” instead of acknowledging how unclear their pricing is. For a service like this, same-day refunds should be a basic courtesy, especially when the charge is so different from what appears on the screen.
To make things worse, the product itself didn’t even work as described. It doesn’t fully delete posts; it just replaces them with random words plus a plug for their own software. That’s not what I signed up for, and it defeats the whole purpose of using a deletion tool.
Overall, the combination of misleading billing, no flexibility on refunds, and underwhelming performance makes the whole service feel very shady. I can’t recommend Redact based on my experience.
No monthly plan
SCAM ALERT, DON'T PAY! All 5 star reviews are illegally purchased!

Redact was great
Redact was great, deleted most of the content I was trying to remove from my Facebook and the customer service email was really helpful and responsive. Scott, was really helpful when I needed assistance.
10/10 Support 8/10 Product
Had an issue with cancelling my subscription, support team responded in a timely manner and was very professional and respectful. The issue was resolved and I was very happy with the outcome. The only issue I have with this product is that they don't offer a monthly subscription option (from the last I heard).
Great cust. service
Title. App itself - at least on linux - is a bit finnicky, but it does what it says on the tin. I have to highlight that the payment is yearly/lifetime only, which is a bit of a shame, but it is what it is.
Amazing Service
Redact is an amazing service and it worked so well for me! Helps with tidying things up and the team behind it helped me with any issues I experienced.

Waste of time
Doesnt work. The app "shows" posts are deleted, a quick refresh on reddit posts would display that was not the case. Complete and utter waste of time.

Exceptional Customer Service. Unparalleled.
Exceptional Customer Service! Way Above and Beyond.
I wanted a new feature. They talked to their Dev team, who said they could do it, then came back to me to let me know it could be done and said they would keep me posted on when it would be ready, but that wasn't just a pleasantry. Unlike a lot of companies, they actually did it! Even notified me of delays. The integrity, the transparency, the follow-through is just unparalleled and I'm not even a Business customer. And the new feature works like a charm.
I was so impressed, I actually looked them up to see if they were hiring b/c who wouldn't want to be on a team like that!
One Note of Caution: You DO have to be careful to click ADD when you type in search terms b/c you could wipe out more than intended if you're not careful (as I did). If you're new to the software like I was, Pay Attention! You'll be a pro in no time b/c it's very user-friendly.
