Thank you to Redmile for an outstanding service

We are one month into living in our new home on the new Gorgonzola housing development, Killamarsh. Well what can I say- it’s been a five star, unbeatable experience!
Right from the start the customer service provided by Beth and Caitlin has been outstanding. They provided regular communication, honesty and support throughout the process.
It’s been the best house move experience for us - all went smoothly and Redmile did everything possible to reassure us throughout.
In terms of interior choices, there was so much to choose from - and it’s a was such an exciting experience choosing all my tiles, kitchen, flooring and bathrooms!
Now we are in our home- we are so happy with the standard of work completed. Any snags we found- have been dealt with quickly and efficiently.
I would 100% recommend Redmile homes - the site itself feels so calm with all its amazing views and access to country walks. Thank you for a wonderful experience and welcoming us into our forever home.

Very poor experience

Very poor experience. Paid a deposit and reserved a house, understanding this would be non refundable. Unable to sell our house so agreed to cancel, and the manager agreed to refund us £200, as we had tried everything to sell our property, and had been very cooperative. Really poor follow up and took months to get a reply, for them to ultimately go back on thier word, and decide not to partial refund us. Frustrating being lied to, and having to spend time to chase up for this outcome. Can see in other reviews this has happened before, and in one case another customer did get a refund. So extremely disappointed with the cowboy approach. Again more negative reviews around time taken to reply for other issues shows it is an inherent issue.

Hi Glen, it is disappointing that you have provided an unjust negative review, we complied with our agreement which you signed.

While there was a conversation about the possibility of a partial refund, this was never formally agreed, and our management team ultimately decided a refund could not be offered. In all cases the reservation fees are non refundable, the form clearly states non refundable reservation fee which you have signed.

We were more than patient in offering an extended reservation period which offered you more time to sell your house. We feel the reviews inaccurate and not in the spirit of trustpilot reviews.
Although the initial reservation period had expired, we continued to hold the property for over six months to give you every opportunity to proceed. Throughout this time, we remained in regular contact and supported you in trying to achieve a sale of your home.

Ultimately, when the property had still not sold after that extended period, you made the decision to cancel the reservation. We do not take reservations or cancellations lightly, but we feel we acted fairly by extending well beyond the original terms. We wish you the very best moving forward.

Happy with our home

We stumbled upon Redmile whilst house hunting specifically new builds, a few homes were available on the estate. There were 2 we saw on Rightmove which seemed to appear out of nowhere. I called up the sales office the following morning to see if we could come up and discuss the available homes. We ended up going the same day and the homes we liked had been reserved but fell through and become available. We met Tracey and told her we're first time buyers and were a little nervous not to jump into anything. We had a chat about what we wanted and we had a look inside one of the homes that was almost completed. It was £500 to reserve and we knew that if we didn't reserve ours it would go, perfect driveway and larger garden and no neighbours on one side. We had a drive round the area and decided we would reserve the home. This was around June, we were told the house would be ready around September/ October. Everything from then on was really easy, being first time buyers we didn't know much about the process but it was really easy, we used their recommended solicitors and can't fault them either reasonably priced and we got flooring and turf for using them. We regularly visited for updates and got to choose everything, kitchen, bathroom, door handles everything so we could move straight in to a home as we wanted. The site manager Kev was really nice, outgoing and helpful he always answered our questions and queries we had and solved any issues we mentioned. We moved in on Halloween and have been really happy with our home since, we've had minimal issues and any issues we've had we have been in contact with Redmile. My only gripe is our garden, the grass just won't dry out and is so damp and soggy and has a slope which doesn't help, I think our garden could have been done a little better as it will cost us a fortune to sort it....I know new builds have a reputation but we spoke with current residents about Redmile and spoke to Tracey who was open and honest with us which put our mind at rest. I would absolutely recommend them

We lost our reserved home because Red Mile says someone else is interested, they wanted us to move to plot 40 or 41 as we are not in a position to move yet. These houses are on the busy main road next to the car wash which we definitely didn't want because of the noise pollution.
Tracy had previously told us that they lowered the prices because they can't sell these houses & nobody wants to buy a house next to a carwash. But yet they tried to Palm them off on us.

We put a £500 deposit on a wessington plot 51 at £355,000 we didn't want plot 49 wessington which was £360,000 because it was closer to the main road & carwash, now for some strange reason they have put the price up on that to £380,000 when the housing market has slowed down.

2 week after paying the £500 deposit we had an appointment to choose fixtures and fittings.
To our surprise the stuff which should come standard with a new property you have to pay extra at an inflated price, eg a washing machine at £960 which on right move is advertised as in with the price.
If you don't want the overpriced washer you don't get the unit door, you have to buy from the supplier.
The fridge & unit isn't free, neither are outside taps, chrome light switches, light under stairs, loft ladder ect ect the bill would come to over £20,000. You have to use their solicitor to get free cheap carpets which you would have to upgrade if you wanted them to last over a year at a cost of over £1000. You have to pay £1000 to have the walls painted grey instead of free magnolia or white. The fence at the top of the garden is 6 foot high but the sides are 4 foot??? You have to pay for them to match the top fence & they are only single panels.

We have just received our £500 deposit back after nearly 3 week of numerous phone calls & emails which they never reply to & never call back when they say they are going to.

Be very wary of this company, if you do your research you will notice most home builders are lowering prices so I would definitely avoid or if you have to fall for their trap wait for them to lower their prices drastically.
