We recently had some work done to our kitchen and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience! Very professional and friendly, great with the family dog!

Communication was great regarding timings and all the work needed. Each step of the process was explained well and work was carried out efficiently and to a very high standard.

I would highly recommend them!

Sadly for us not long after beginning the feasibility stage the franchisee went into liquidation. Consequently we are £2000 down with nothing to show for it. The parent company is not interested and the liquidation firm is unresponsive, so we’ve little hope of getting anything refunded. Choosing Refresh was an expensive mistake for us. Please do better research than we did on the particular franchise partner you are considering working with and do not rely at all on the overall reviews for the parent company.

I had no idea who to contact or where to begin with the work I wanted done to my sitting room. I submitted a request on the website and Jon called me the next day and came out to visit. I gave him my list of what I wanted and somehow he made it happen and it is perfect! He sorted out a couple of glitches with ease and I am really happy with everything. I’ve already recommended him to a friend and would definitely recommend to anyone else wanting to do any work to their home! Fantastic job and would definitely use again!

I chose Refresh Renovations after a positive experience in 2024, when I contacted them about a potential loft conversion. I liked their approach and felt confident they could deliver. While not the cheapest option, the initial planning felt professional and thorough.

That confidence is why I chose them again for a full house renovation when I moved home. Jon advised they could start on completion of my house purchase, which felt reassuring at the time.

Unfortunately, the project fell well short of expectations and was eventually terminated.

Very shortly before work was due to start, I was told a full rewire would be required. This was around a week before works began and only days before the final price was issued, which did not include the electrical works. The overall cost was also significantly higher than what had been discussed months earlier. With completion day imminent and no realistic alternative, I felt under pressure to proceed. The house was not safe, warm or properly habitable for a family, and at the time it felt like the alternative was having no workable home for me and my children. In hindsight, the speed at which work could commence should have been a warning sign.

There were also clear problems with the coordination of trades. For example, electrical sockets were installed before plastering was completed. As a result, several sockets were left caked in plaster and adhesive, some of which do not work and now need replacing. This is one example of how poor sequencing led directly to avoidable damage and additional cost.

During the works, concerns raised on site about things not being right were not addressed. When I asked questions about building regulations, clear answers were not provided and written guidance was not accepted.

When I ended the agreement, I was left in a very difficult position just weeks before Christmas, with no heating. This was extremely upsetting for me and my children. I was fortunate that someone else was recommended to me who was able to bring in trades at short notice and help stabilise the situation.

When further trades assessed the work, none could understand where a significant proportion of the money had been spent. Based on those assessments, I estimate that around 25000 to 30000 pounds was effectively lost.

I accept that I should have scrutinised the contract more carefully, but the contract itself was very sparse for a project of almost 100000 pounds, and I believed the term "full renovation" was exactly that. Over time, I was repeatedly told that various items were not included, after work had already begun. This included replacing woodwork that was not even sanded before painting, replacing a very dated bannister, and upgrading old radiators or fitting replacements.

I was also told on several occasions that my budget would not allow for basic choices such as wood effect doors, coloured paint or a modular tile pattern. This was not credible given the overall project value and was later shown to be incorrect.

Throughout the project, I repeatedly asked for a proper breakdown of costs for the invoices I paid. This was never provided. The best I received (a couple of days before I ended the contract) was a vague room by room price list that appeared to have been created after the fact.

It is important to say that some of the individual trades were excellent. The bathroom fitter who began the bathroom returned later to complete it to a very high standard. The kitchen fitters also did a good job. Although the wrong kitchen was supplied, which was a project management issue, the quality of the installation itself was good.

This was not a case of minor snagging or bad luck, but of poor project management, lack of transparency and inadequate control of quality and costs. I chose Refresh Renovations because I believed I was paying for professional oversight. Sadly, that is not what I received.

If you do choose to use Refresh Renovations, my advice would be to check the contract very carefully, insist on detailed invoices, make sure all costs are clearly itemised from the start, do not assume anything is included unless it is written down, and ensure those carrying out the work are properly qualified and appointed on merit.

We enlisted the help of Refresh Renovations to complete our kitchen renovation in summer-autumn of 2025 after I met with Ali about the project. Out of all the companies I met with, he came across thoughtful, considered and gave me all the information I needed in a timely manner.

From design to works starting we were kept up to date regularly, any questions or issues arising were dealt with swiftly, and we were delivered a high-spec project as a result. We had a wall knocked down to create an open plan kitchen supplied from Howdens and we are blown away with the change. We are so happy and couldn't recommend them more.

This review is coming quite late as I had my bathroom redone in 2024 but having to redo some of the work that was done when Refresh renovated my bathroom.

I originally went with these guys as I was sold the combination of them designing and renovating my bathroom. Although I was happy with how the bathroom looked in the end, less than a year in to it being redone I had to have work done to it again due to poor quality being done the first time around. The paint started pealing very quickly and I had to get the shower resealed and some of the shower tiles regrouted.

Additionally, I did not really feel particularly listened to during the process. The initial communication was decent, but during the project I felt quite like I wasn't being taken seriously. I was promised a functioning bathroom (didn't have to be fully finished, just wanted a working shower and toilet) in an agreed timeline but when I went to visit the property half way through the project, it did not seem like it was going to be delivered on time. One week the only thing that seemed to be done was adding a lock box to the property. I then queried this and they seemed to move the process along by deciding to cut out a key element of design without consulting me. Again, I only found this out whilst I was beginning to move things into the property - it seems there were going to avoid telling me about this issue until it was finished. They did reduce the amount I had to pay at the end, which was appreciated but it didn't feel like it was enough.

Overall, despite the nice finish on the bathroom, I would not recommend Refresh due to the aggravation felt during the actual renovation process.

Haven't got as far as the building stage yet but help and guidance so far has been excellent. Assistance and advice with regard to architect's plans, fire escape strategy, structural analysis etc ... has been very helpful indeed.

I recently used Refresh Renovations for a garage project and had a mixed experience.

From the start, the representative was courteous and seemed very knowledgeable. However, I was surprised that I had to pay upfront just to get a quote, and that fee wasn’t deducted from the final job cost. Most contractors I’ve dealt with either provide no-obligation quotes or refund the fee if you proceed, so this felt unusual.

The quote itself came in much higher than I had expected. I had done my research beforehand and had a rough ballpark figure in mind, but was assured the higher cost was down to quality materials, insulation, and the representative’s time on-site.

During the project, there were big gaps in when work was carried out and sudden changes to scheduling. While I was always asked if these delays were acceptable, it was an awkward position to be put in, as saying no didn’t feel like a real option. I also raised concerns about electrical work not being up to code, but felt they were brushed off. I ultimately paid out of pocket to have this corrected, as I wasn’t confident the issue would have been properly resolved otherwise.

The shelving unit was the biggest disappointment. It had been described as a fully bespoke unit that would fit a specific fridge freezer and storage boxes I had provided dimensions for. Unfortunately, when installed, the spaces were too small, and the radiator that had been fitted blocked part of the shelving unit itself. The representative reluctantly agreed to move the radiator at his own cost, but he refused to alter the shelving without charging extra. The end result looked much less refined than expected and didn’t match what had been described at the outset.

There were also some small but frustrating snags, such as marks on the wall and stickers left on the door frame. On top of that, I was told I would be charged extra for using the skip, despite the representative later admitting he had used it himself to dispose of waste from another job he was doing down the road. This was never mentioned beforehand, and no deduction was made from my final bill.

Overall, the work is to a reasonable standard, but for the price paid and the time it took, the end result wasn’t quite what I had been led to expect. Refresh Renovations certainly deliver on professionalism at the start, but I’d suggest anyone considering them be very clear about expectations, costs, and final details from the outset.

Our renovation was an attic space in a dormer bungalow being converted into an ensuite. Good communication. Friendly professional tradespeople completing a first class job. All problems were solved with good humour and hard work. The ensuite has earned praise from our friends and family, with words used such as 'wow' and 'this is amazing'.

Starts off all very hands on and seemingly professional. As time went on we ignored the “Red Flags” little errors our address always wrong, them being based in Watford Herefordshire!! Watch out for building control charges !! Being told start dates then not happening but it’s the customers misunderstanding. Always the customers fault as they continue to charge you money for the intro steps…a lot of money before a brick is laid. Budget discussed yes no problem final price is 50% more. Request breakdown of pricing. A reluctance to do so. Kitchen price double the suppliers price. There is so much I could write about the company just let me leave you with this fact. We have a local company now completing the job for six(6) figures less than Refresh.

Fantastic. Excellent communication beforehand, arrived bang on time, the work was completed quickly and to an excellent standard, and my home was left clean and tidy. I’d highly recommend and would definitely use again.

Oli and his team did a brilliant job on our loft and rear extension. From the start, they made the whole process easy to understand and the build from start to finish was managed super smoothly.

The finish is great and any little snags were sorted quickly. Nearly a year on and everything still looks and feels spot on – highly recommended!!

Good job done for even though it was a short notice. Thanks to Mohammed for doing it on time for me .l will recommend Refresh Rennovation. Good job done

Refresh renovations did some work fixing tiling and grouting in our bathrooms. Sam had good communication and gave a reasonable quote. The work was carried out very soon after we agreed on the quote to a very high standard. Peter who did the work worked hard and communicated well with us. We are very happy with the result. One star removed because mid-work they told us that the tiles were loose and we would have to pay more to inject adhesive behind them. It was clear they were loose before the quote. The 'variation' wasn't too expensive though.

Oli was great to work with, from the first meeting to project completion the service was top class.
We turned our one bed flat into a 2 bed flat, and installed a new kitchen and bathroom. So happy with the end result. Oli kept us upto date throughout and very easy to get hold off with any questions.
They also check in after the project to make sure no snagging issues and if there are any are dealt with quickly.

Refresh Renovations turned our useless storage room into a beautiful laundry room! We recently moved into our home and I wanted a proper space for our washer and dryer along with space for linens and miscellaneous cleaning supplies. They took care of installing water and electric into the room along with placing a lovely vinyl flooring. Very happy with the results and we are already planning a larger renovation project next year with Refresh Renovations.

We were looking to add an outbuilding to our rear garden to allow for a home office, extra lounging space and an en-suite and had no clue where to start. Upon researching local service providers, we found and reached out to Refresh Renovations in South West London as they were quite local and offered a complimentary initial consultation. Sam came out to visit us at the property, listened attentively to our needs and requirements, and knowledgeably laid out the roadmap our project would need to take covering design, planning & consents, documentation and costings to be well positioned when the time comes for the build. Based on our experience, I can confidently say that we are now much better equipped to make an informed decision on the way forward. I highly recommend Sam & the team for anyone at a very early stage who could do with some guidance!!

Choosing Refresh was the worst decision.

I am so disappointed with the Refresh process. At the beginning, we felt it was lots of promises and seemed to be customer focused. As soon as they have the money, things quickly changed. The quality of work completed has been poor. The communication has been shocking. The project has been badly managed. There have been too many mistakes. It has taken over a year (additional to the projected 6 months) to get near to complete. The list could go on and on. I would not recommend Refresh and urge anyone looking to renovate to stay well away!
