Customer Service is not their best assest.

Almost every other month they invalidate my password and I have to create a new one. If you call them you're going to be on hold listening to all their services for a good 5 minutes. And then it's very likely that the AI will tell you no one is available to take your call, please call back, and hang up on you.

My mortgage was "sold" to this company. Otherwise I'd never be doing business with them.

Regions put a hold on my credit card

Regions put a hold on my credit card, without notifying me. When I called them after having my card declined twice, they verified that I was in fact was the one trying to use it. But instead of lifting the hold, they needed to send me to their fraud department. After 30 minutes on hold, I gave up. Tried again...same story, but this time I waited 45 minutes before giving up.

All I want to do is connect my elderly mother’s NOW card to my account so I can make sure she has enough money on the card to go to lunch, shopping, etc, and can transfer funds when she needs them. I’ve spent at least 10 hours on the phone with at least a dozen different people. They CANNOT do it! Next up, email to John Turner. You are a joke.

Changing Banks

I received a notification of a transaction I did not authorized. After contacting Regions, I was asked to come into the bank in person to get a new card. Regions assured the fraudulent transaction would not be paid. I check my account today (10/28) Guess what, it was paid. I am changing banks because I had a hard time getting to the bank to change the cards and behold, they paid it out anyway. I asked the representative to leave it as is because I could not go through what Regions put me through the night of the transaction. I spoke with a supervisor and 2 representatives, today the last representative placed me on hold, the next thing I knew after 5 minutes, we were disconnected. After connecting with another representative, I asked to just don't touch my card long enough for me to get a new account with a different bank.

Very poor customer service

First of all the cancelled my debit card due to fraud, which is ok, but they won't issue me a new one unless I go into a branch, and since I'm nowhere near a branch at this time I'm screwed, and they have no solution.

Secondly they demand I have a code texted to me every single time I login from the same device, every single day and their representatives say they won't stop.

All the other banks I deal with do not require me to come in to get a debit card reissued, nor do they harass me every day with

Regions in not consumer friendly

Had been a Regions Mortgage customer for ~20-25 years. I recently became very ill, to the point of being hospitalized. When I had recovered and I had reviewed my bills, only the Regions bill had been missed. It had become 30 days late. I immediately paid up to the next month payment.
Regions had in the meantime reported my account as 30 days late to the credit reporting bureau. I then appealed to their human side to see if they would be willing to remove that remark as it was the absolute only negative remark on the seven year history maintained by the credit bureau. That equates to over 1,000 payments made as agreed. They refused to even consider removing the remark.
After I had written to the bank CEO concerning this, which he did not have the temerity to even acknowledge the issue.
Regions, did on two occasions ask for my medical records and they might reconsider. That request alone was a direct violation of HIPAA laws. However, I did respond that I would be agreeable to the request if they implement HIPAA compliant system for medical records. Needless to say, they, again did not respond to my answer for medical records.
After this experience with Regions Mortgage and contact with CEO being ignored, I have come to the conclusion that Regions Mortgage is not unlike Ebenezer Scrooge. Heartless, non-caring and only focused on money, not people.
After Regions was done ignoring me, my credit score dropped over 100 points. Just doesn’t sound right, one bad mark in over 1,000 reports destroying one’s credit. Have to wonder what part Regions played in that!
I think that if they would actually listen to customers concerns and treat them like people not a commodity to be used and dismissed when Regions is done.

Poor customer service

Yes, I had a displeasurable experience with Linette Perry. Countless ppl have had and continue having bad experiences with LINETTE PERRY. She has a VERY condescending tone and attitude, especially when trying to ask the wants and needs of customers. After berating me and asking me multiple times as to why I’m here, which I attempted to explain multiple times, I was told that she would be right with me. After which, a ghetto attendant with an horse tail weave laughed and cackled like an hyena at LINETTE’s condescending answers. Even though no one was in her office. Her explanation was, “ I’m waiting on a very important phone call…” when the attendant next door who was very helpful called me in, Linette interrupted our conversation while the nice lady was talking to me, rather rudely, cutting us both off asking her, with her back turned to me, what did I need help with and attempted to school her on things she was already doing. This elderly lady truly needs people management along with the laughing hyena with the bad weave. DO NOT GO TO SUNNY BRANCH OF REGIONS ON HWY 1 greenville Ms unless you want to end up being taken out of character by someone who has no business working with the public. Buying the right to wear Pink and green or be a member of an overhyped social club does not make you any better than the next person, linette

We have dealt with Regions Bank for…

We have dealt with Regions Bank for more than 15 years. Until about a year and a half ago, we had no problems or complaints. Since that time there have been numerous problems. We planned to move out of state and I requested a credit card limit increase from $5000.00 to $8000.00. Knowing we would have additional charges with the move. Having a FICO score of over 800, and always paying my card charges IN FULL each month and on time, I was shocked that my request was denied. From there everything went downhill. I had charges to setup new car insurance, house insurance, etc.. As soon as a bill came in on the card, I would promptly pay so the next bill would go through. Regions decided to "put a hold" on the funds I paid for 10 days, leaving me with no ability to pay for the car insurance. I talked with several representatives to request the hold be removed. But it was like talking to a wall. This was the first of many more problems. Last March I had a disputed charge on my credit card. The representative gave me the email address to use to send in the claimed dispute. I submitted that claim in an email 11 times, only to be told each time they didn't have it. (I sent a copy to other people and all received with no problem) The bank then gave me the mailing address so I could send in through regular mail. You guessed it, they didn't receive that either. They told me the 3rd option was to go to a branch office with the paperwork. The closest branch to our new location is an hour away. So,I did what they were hoping for. I gave up on getting the disputed amount back. Now, my latest problem is being able to claim my 50,000 reward points from my Regions Visa card. Even though the bank has my current address and all mail has come here for the last 15 months, their points system still shows my old address for redeeming the points. Last week I was on the phone with Regions Bank for well over an hour, being transfered from dept. to dept., put on hold over and over again. The last dept. said they would correct the problem, but it would take 3 business days. That was last week. As of today, 6 days later, still not fixed. Calling today, went through the same run around. Now, in 72 hours all will be corrected. So they say. I have come to the conclusion that if Regions has to part with any money, it's going to be pulling teeth for that to happen. I'm sure they hope it will be like the credit card dispute and I'll just give up on it. Not without a fight. The 50,000 points equal $500.00 rewards. When this is settled, I am SO GONE!! This was the last straw for me.

This bank held my money hostage

This bank held my money hostage. I moved to Washington in 2023. When I attempted to transfer my checking and money market accounts to a bank here they kept transferring me to different people with contradicting information. After a week of this I gave up and began a different process to get my money out of their bank. When I eventually emptied my accounts and tried to close them a representative transferred me to a moving company in Tennessee. Don’t put your money in this bank!

This bank is a JOKE

This bank is a JOKE. Customer service have no idea what they are doing very unprofessional. I talked to various employees and every single one gives me different information. They blocked my company account for 1 week without having access to my money. I had to put my company on Hold for 1 week because they locked my account, when I called customer service they said I needed to see my nearest branch. I was 2 hours away and the day I went the manager said she had no idea why they sent me there because they couldn’t help me their either that we had to summit a ticket and in 24-48 hours someone will get back to me. We summited the ticket and summited a complaint and no one ever reached out to me, EVER!! HORRIBLE company extremely unprofessional and don’t care about their customers.

Indianapolis Pendleton pike branch is a…Waste of time, teller in Florida committed fraud

Indianapolis Pendleton pike branch is a joke. The branch manager has passed the buck on a situation we have been dealing with for 2 weeks. Several excuses no solutions. He claims he was not aware of anything. Pleads ignorance. So he is stating the several tellers we have dealt with in person are lying to us. Money taken from our account for 2 weeks still nothing. We have filed the correct paperwork have copies of it and he is clueless. Never experienced this type of situation with previous branch manager. How long do I have to wait?

Regions is not your friendly neighborhood bank

If Regions Bank was in human form, you would not want to be friends or have anything to do with them. My beefs are too many to list here. But I have a few.
1) We sent them a pre written payoff (refi bill consolidation so I didn't write the check) for a loan we had. The check happened to be .75 short out of ~nine thousand dollars. Not only did they not apply the payoff to the account because it was seventy-five cents short, they made no notification, they just let the check float around. A month later, "what happened to that payment.." called regions they had no excuse but they did wave the seventy-five cents, with no apology.
2) They re-arrange debit timeframes, so that if the account is low they can cause two transactions to decline (and charge thirty-eight bucks each) instead of one. They now, in the fine print state they can rearrange debits however they want, as to maximize their penalty income.
So now I come to the end of my regions relationship. I ask for a cashiers check for the balance of my closing account, so I can deposit in a better bank.
As one last F-you, they write a regular check, (now they get to keep my money for one last day) instead of a cashiers check which is equivalent to cash. So, even though it is my cash money, I can't get to it for another twenty-four hours. They also (as a policy matter) refused to verify the check they wrote literally fifteen minutes earlier. They stated (to the new bank teller calling to verify) they don't verify their checks over the phone - bank to bank
Every single employee I have dealt with in person is great, polite, & easy to work with. However the Regions culture is that of screw the client, we will take every single penny in every creative way that we can. They have lost multiple class action lawsuits because they are so dishonest, unscrupulous, and disingenuous.
If you have a relationship with regions for more than a couple of years, I guarantee they will screw you over some kind of way in a attempt to get their hands on as much of your money as they can.
I know banks are obviously in this business for the money, but regions has no moral compass when it comes to customer appreciation, They don't even pretend to care about their customers.

Nicole Pezo is AMAZING

Nicole Pezo is what made my visit amazing! I have very little knowledge of my business financial options. Because of her kind spirit and great knowledge of her business, I left feeling that I had accomplished something. She equipped me with tools that in 3 years of business I had not received! All because she cares!!❤️

Bye bye

I have been a loyal Regions customer for 20 years. A restaurant recently charged me several times for the same check. It was screamingly obvious that it was not an authentic charge — the exact same amount was run through twice in rapid succession, and later another three times in rapid succession. I disputed the charge to Regions. Only two business days later, I already received a letter saying that as I could not prove that I did NOT make the charges (how was I supposed to do that?) their “investigation” was closed, and my money would not be restored to my account.

So, basically, my Regions debit card is now useless, as it’s clear they will not restore (or even really investigate) fraudulent charges. I will be closing the 4 accounts my family holds there.

Do not choose Regions Bank as your…

Do not choose Regions Bank as your financial institution. Several different apps encounter problems when selecting Regions Bank or find that Regions Bank is not even a recognized option. Additionally, if you have your account open for 179 days and not at least 180 days, Regions Bank will withhold at least $25.00 per account without disclosing the information beforehand; they give no warning of this $25 fee for each account. It is not mentioned by their representatives, in the email confirming your account closure, or even in the letter with your cashier's check. Your cashier's check will just be $25 short, or if you have one account with less than a $25 balance, you won't receive a check at all, and you'll have to call to find out. When you do call, after being kept on hold for 15 minutes, they will inform you there is nothing that can be done, so you're just out $25 per account for not waiting a day longer to close your account. Terrible service! Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy giving away money to a bank with dubious practices.
