Customer Intimidation and Bullying by RBA
A family member reported to me the problems experienced with RBA (Renewal by Anderson) having windows installed. The windows are great, the problems were in communications or lack there-of with the company and the extremely poor treatment of a customer. The family member advised that it's RBA's policy to pay $250.00 for every follow-up visit after the initial install and in this case there were follow-up visits. The family member advised that RBA required the signing of an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) as part of the acceptance money with additional requirements that prevented the family member/RBA customer from making disparaging remarks about RBA. I have seen the NDA. Just ridiculous and insulting!! Given the horrendously poor and insulting treatment towards my family member by RBA, I would NEVER do business with this company.
Dont use Renewal by Andersen…
I decided to use Renewal by Andersen because of the excellent reviews I read in the Clearwater FL area. I even recommended both the salesman and the company. I now wish I hadn't. Before installation and additional time spent on additional installations went well. Both the office and the salesman Rodd were excellent, however after the installation and learning that the inspection of the windows failed inspection by the city, both the salesman and the office ghosted me. I sent numerous text messages, voice mail and email. No one returned my requests for assistance. I finally got a hold of someone in California who gave me a different phone number. That person commented and stated that no one made any entries of my many attempts to contact them. There was no record of me stating that windows failed the city inspection. They are supposed to be here next week to install a storm door, and the salesman is supposed to be here to discuss the next phase for additional windows. My advice? Stay away from Renewal by Andersen on the Clearwater/Tampa area and go with a different company. For the amount of $$ my wife and I spent, and planned to spend, we thought we deserved at least a simple follow up phone call. Someone needs to take some instructions on customer service.

Approximately 4–6 months after the initial installation of a large window in our main bedroom, we experienced significant leaking during the rainy season, which caused considerable stucco damage to our home. Andersen responded by inspecting the window and replacing the original frame with a different type. Unfortunately, due to the extent of the stucco damage, I was required to repaint the entire exterior of my home — not just a simple touch-up.
A few months after the replacement, I noticed that the interior window sill trim was not replaced along with the new window, unlike the initial installation. Instead, a soft, wet-to-the-touch sealant or caulking was used to fill the gap, which remains unset months later.
While the installers and sales personnel have been courteous and professional throughout this process, I am increasingly concerned about the long-term quality of the product. It has only been about two months since the replacement, and there are already visible signs of rust on the inside window frame.

FROM THE SALESMAN TO THE INSTALLERS IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A COMPANY. THE SALESMAN WAS NOT PUSHY AND VERY VERY NICE.
THE INSTALLERS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL VERY RESPECTFUL OF MY HOME AND CLEANED UP VERY GOOD.
THE PRICE IS HIGH BUT THE WINDOWS ARE FIRST RATE.
I WOULD RECOMMEND ANDERSON WINDOWS TO ANYONE.

Extremely Disappointed with Renewal by Andersen – Ongoing Issues and Zero Accountability
We contracted Renewal by Andersen (Bangor, ME office) in April 2024 for a full-house window and door replacement at our home. Over a year later, this project remains incomplete, and the entire experience has been one of frustration, miscommunication, and repeated errors.
Here are just a few highlights of what we’ve endured:
We did not receive all of the interior trim on time, despite being told we would so we could stain it before installation.
The exterior trim sent was not what was specified in the contract. We were told we’d have to pay extra to get what we originally ordered—so we had to settle for cheaper material.
At the first scheduled installation (October 2024), we found out that our front door had never been ordered and the back door delivered was the wrong style, color, and configuration. We had to select a different product and color due to availability, completely departing from our original vision.
On the second scheduled installation (February 2025), the replacement rear door didn’t fit. It took two and a half more months for them to bring another—on April 14th. That one was the wrong color again (green, not the black we settled for after they failed to provide the stained wood look we wanted), and it was missing hardware.
Both doors were supposed to be keyed alike. We now have two doors with four different keys.
Communication was a nightmare. We were bounced between multiple employees, many of whom failed to return calls or emails. Promises to follow up or be on-site were repeatedly broken. It felt impossible to speak to the same person twice, and no one took accountability.
Despite being told the project would be finished before we left for the winter, it wasn't—forcing us to make two separate trips back to Maine from out of state, just to supervise the chaos.
The "rush" on the corrected rear door? It took nearly three months.
Now, we’re being told the green hue on the black door is a known manufacturer defect—and there’s no estimated timeframe for a fix. Same story for the door locks.
And worst of all: our 12-month financing period expired while this incomplete job dragged on, and now we’ve been told we must reapply under less favorable terms, simply because the project wasn’t finished on time—through no fault of our own.
This job has caused us needless stress, travel expenses, and disrupted timelines with other contractors. At every step, our trust in Renewal by Andersen has been met with excuses and indifference. For a company with such a reputation, this has been anything but a professional experience.
Additionally, our attempts to obtain help from their corporate office has been a waste of time. I sent a very detailed email, with a follow up email 2 weeks ago - no response! I have left voicemails, no return phone calls. So far, it seems impossible to get any response.
We cannot in good conscience recommend this company. If you’re expecting reliability, communication, and quality—look elsewhere.

I had 15 windows and 1 patio door replaced 5 months ago first I have to say that their installation crew were great. But I noticed the door was not the correct color and looked to peeling and there was white underneath. I called and called till I had a project manager come out and take pictures it has taken me till April to have them bring a new patio door out to replace and when they arrived and started to install I noticed a deep scratch on the door I informed the installer, who in turn checked the rest of door which there were more parts damaged. So maybe third time is a charm when they replace it again. Very disappointed. Would not recommend Renewal by Anderson to anybody. As I stated installers were great.

…Renewal by Anderson joke
Hello a few years ago I asked Renewal by Anderson to give me a price on 8 repayment windows. They came out and gave me a quote of $20,000 for the eight windows. I received three other quote also. From $3500 to $6500. A week later I get a phone call from Renewal by Anderson, the price now was $10,000. I settled for the Amish made window with a lifetime warranty on the frames an 10yrs on the glass for the $3500. I figured I could replace them twice for the same price by Renewal by Anderson.

the windows are very food quality but follow up not good
the windows are very food quality, the installation was excellent, the follow up was not good. there was some minor damage from the installation. they sent someone out and he tried to rush the job so it was not done properly. he came back again and tried to finish it up, still not right, no one ever followed up, right now, I wouldn't recommend them. For what I paid for these windows, they should have been VERY ATTENTIVE.

No stars!!!
No stars!!!! Anderson started our install on November 11th, 2024, bear in mind this was only 1 door going from a slider to a French door. The job was finally finished on March 13, 2025. I told them we wanted $5000 compensation. I told them this after they were done, and we were without the use of a door for 4.5 months. Bear in mind I offered to pay them $10,000 no financing the next day so they would get some of their money, but they said no. I wanted $5000 forgiven we have still not signed the complete job order. The way the job order is written is that we would acknowledge we were completely satisfied and then the financing would start, which would be one year the same as cash. We are not satisfied, 4.5 months without the use of a door, never knowing if it would lock of not, and the inconvenience of multiple visits by their installers until they decided we needed a new lock set. The one they brought with them on the day of the installation would not work so we went for 7 weeks with an Allen wrench for a handle on the inside and tape covering the hole on the outside. These people do not understand the inconvenience. They had to replace the door as the existing door the warped while they were waiting for parts. I am not a dead beat; I own my own business and if I treated my customers in the insulting way, they treated us then I would have no customers. They got an offer from us which we believe is fair, but now they will spend that money taking us to court
So we were strong armed and into accepting a settlement of $2500 and supposedly we were going to get a check within a couple weeks. I haven’t seen a check and I still don’t believe that $2500 is enough money for the inconvenience. I believe all the staff is unethical and they’ve all been sent to snotty school and that’s how they act. It’s pretty sad a big company like Anderson renewal offers us chump change for something that was more than a pain in the butt. I got so sick of hearing especially from Josh Young in Grand Rapids that it was at their intent. What a canned answer. I will spread this review forever until I get what I asked from my original request of 2500. even trying to put tell them to imagine what it was like in our shoes fell by the wayside they don’t care. I would sooner board up my windows and use these people to put in doors or windows.

Deceptive sales tactics
The sales person quoted us a much lower monthly financing rate than what the lender actually billed for. When contacted they essentially told us it was not their problem as they have been paid. So we are stuck with a monthly bill we can barely afford. The windows are good quality but incredibly over priced. Biggest mistake of my life!

Everything went great right from the start with the estimate and the emails regarding the time and date for the install which was just as it was explained to us and the day of the install the 2 installers Brad and his helper arrived just on time and got right to work on removing the old door which I had installed myself and it was an old Andersen . They commented on how Good of a job I did installing it there was no leaks or rot in the sill or around the frame . Things went great after that and the installation went very well. They were both two plesant young men and we had good conversations with them as things progressed. After everything was installed they proceeded to clean up the area and take away all the demoed pieces and left the place very clean.. We were very appreciative and commented that they did an excellent job from start to the clean up .. We would recommend them to anyone interested in a very efficient product and workmanship installing . In and out in less than a day

Ripping off senior citizens just because they can
My 81-year widowed mom though she was purchasing a real n Andersen replacement door. She needed a steel entry door and she wanted a single window on top. It's not an Andersen door - it's a Legacy steel entry door and they charged her $5750 to install it. Same door at home Depot is $1000.
Andersen = worst company we’ve ever dealt with
Sept 4, 2024 paid $8,100 (half total cost) for 2 windows and a front door, along with the understanding our existing storm door would be reinstalled flowing install of the new front door. Install scheduled for 11/15/24 and cancelled due to permitting delay. Rescheduled for 12/12/24 and again cancelled for permitting delay. Rescheduled for 1/16/25 and completed that date-however missing cladding and finish work. Also we were advised our storm could not be replaced/would no longer fit in the opening. We learned from city permitting that the permit application was received on 12/19/24, well after originally promised install date. A rep (Johnny) from Anderson visited our home for over 2 hours 1/20/25 and documented multiple issues and assured us all would be resolved. Johnny expected full payment prior to this and we declined ( he had to call his manager for approval to not be paid). Johnny advised an automatic email survey would be sent and asked us to withhold completing to allow him to make things right/assure we were satisfied with with job. In good faith, we held off; however, subsequently found out only 14 days are available to complete the survey AND the Renewal site shows the survey was completed on 1/20/25-NOT BY US, BY WHOM THEN? As of 3/5/25, we have had 4 visits since initial install of 1/16/25 to complete external and internal painting touch up, straighten the door handle and replace a scratched handle, adjust the door as it would not close properly, replace weather stripping that allowed sun to shine through the door, install cladding, and complete door trim touch up. Each technician to visit said the cladding (exterior door finish) was not in their notes to be completed although it was noted as required by Jonny on 1/20/25 and assured in our discussions with the Service Dept (Jonathon) that cladding would be completed. Additionally, we spoke to customer service multiple times and were assured the cladding was in the notes to be completed. We have requested transfers to our contacts and supervisors multiple times and been denied. We also have been assured by technicians visiting the home that their notes would reflect our issues and requests for return calls. We have never received return calls, other than by a Custer service person to book the next technician. At this point we have no idea when or if our cladding ( that we have been told repeatedly comes with the door and should be in the Tampa warehouse)will ever arrive. We recommend no one EVER hire RENEWAL BY ANDERSON!
Overpriced - Not Worth It.
Overpriced, poor installation and follow-up service calls never address issues. Heavy condensation around windows, ice build-up on interior of windows, drafty doors installed.
Not worth the price and the customer service they provide is responsive but doesn't actually solve any of the issues. Not worth it.

Renewal By Andersen Service Tech Jose Landazuri Was in my House today fixing my Back Hinged Patio Door.
He performed an excellent job with good Ethics and integrity. My Door is working perfectly fine. Thanks Jose and RBA!
NEVER USE RBA!!!
Received a quote from RBA in Melbourne, FL. Initially $83,000!!
Then a discount to $63,000, and finally $53,000!!!
See the scam pattern here!?
I got two other quotes from reputable companies for under $25,000...
I am so angry at RBA's attempt to rip me off thousands!!!

they have a quality product but thats as far as it goes they are way too expencive and there deceptive advertising is very misleading the mailer that they use at a quick glance looks to be handwritten but is not... they are not trustworty, and if there advertising is bogus I would not trust anything else they do
We are publicly canceling the agreement because their email does not exist and they don't answer the phone
We called them to hear their offer but somehow they managed to get us sign the places in their iPad without even reading the whole contract on the spot.
When we did read the contract we realized that they promise one thing but the contract contains the other.
We are using this public place to officially cancel our contract because
1. The contract they promised and the real contract are different.
2. They don't answer the phone, don't return the calls.
3. The email they provided doesn't exist.
4. We don't believe in legitimacy of this company.
5. Their real name has nothing to do with Andersen windows and we wanted Andersen windows.
We just want this to be documented that we tried all the possible means to contact this company but it's impossible.
Severe sales tactics
On a positive note, the product looks decent. The sales tactics however are disgusting. The television ads suggest they give you a price rather than a quote. In actual fact you get three prices. One is good for a year, one for 15 days and one if you sign on the spot. Of course they vary greatly. In my case for four smallish windows there was almost $10,000 between the three. The pressure to sign on the spot is harsh and numerous follow-up phone calls occur, to the point of harassment. Even seeing their ads now makes me angry.
