Fantastic service! Great communications throughout our experience, the car rental itself catered to all our needs with our weekend away in Taupo. We has so many people during our trip wanting to know where we had hired our car. We were more than willing to refer them to RentX cars, who we would like to thank this amazing experience.
We spent 5 weeks driving both Islands and rented two cars from RentX. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
Mel at Auckland was so helpful with all our questions and gave us a great daily rate, nothing was too much trouble.

AMAZING experience renting with Rent X Car Hire!
Everything was super easy and straightforward. I was picked up directly from the airport, which made things a lot smoother after landing, and the whole check-in process was quick and hassle-free.
The staff were genuinely friendly and easy to deal with. special mention to Helen 👍
She went above and beyond. Made herself available at 6am to help with my drop-off and airport transfer, which made a big difference.
The car itself was excellent. Clean, modern, and ran super smooth the entire trip. I’ve had a few bad experiences with rental cars in the past where the quality wasn’t great, so it was refreshing to get something that felt reliable and well looked after.
We travelled from Auckland up to the Bay of Islands, then down to Rotorua and Hobbiton, and the car handled everything perfectly. Plenty of space as well easily fit two large suitcases in the boot.
A few other things that stood out:
Free toll passes - They covered the tolls (Thank you 🙏)
Free basic insurance was included
Simple, stress-free pick-up and drop-off process
Overall just a really easy and great experience. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a reliable rental in NZ. 👍
