Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many consumers find the technology offered to be very useful, highlighting its ability to simplify complex development tasks and accelerate the creation of applications. People appreciate the ease of getting started and the platform's effectiveness for prototyping and learning. Many users also find the AI features helpful for overcoming coding challenges and streamlining their workflow. However, some people were dissatisfied with the user experience and the app itself. Some customers reported issues with apps disappearing, difficulties with publishing, and problems with exporting projects. A few other people also felt that the AI, while generally helpful, could sometimes create errors that were costly to fix, or that the platform struggled with building aesthetically pleasing user interfaces.

It's established, but the cost of building the app and maintaining it on Replit has risen. There is also not a convenient way to talk to someone for support questions as it is all managed by AI.

I’ve been charged over $2,000 by Replit despite my plan clearly indicating $40 per account for 3 accounts ($120 total). Even after these excessive charges, I am still being billed the $40 per account.

I have sent five separate email chains attempting to resolve this issue and have received no response whatsoever. Not even an acknowledgment that my concerns were received. It has now been over 30 days with complete silence from customer support.

I’ve been patient and professional in every message, but overbilling combined with zero communication is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on the company. This has left me with no choice but to escalate the issue outside of Replit.

I strongly recommend monitoring billing closely and not relying on customer support if a problem arises.

After an initial euphoria at seeing the…

After an initial euphoria at seeing the basis of a website come to life almost instantly, the experience turned into a nightmare of editing, seeing the edits disappear at the next edit, and then paying for a more stable system, but then discovering that this fixed nothing, and then being asked for yet more money. Is this a scam, aka going to be an ongoing false promise? I raise this concern because the ai assistant repeatedly lied to me that it had fixed the editing issue and even admitted it had repeatedly lied… So my trust is very low at this point, yet still over a barrel to get this site truly working quickly…🫣

The ease of creating a website with a prompt and with good detail.
This is remarkable to see how much detail and where it would be deployed and how it would look like. Things I think could be better is templates that can be experimented with like saying make a website for healthcare etc.

Incredibly solid platform

I'm not a professional developer, but Replit makes it incredibly easy to just start building things without getting bogged down in technical setup. I use it mostly to "vibe code" and experiment with ideas, and the AI features are helpful enough that I rarely get stuck for long. The interface is clean and straightforward, so I don't feel intimidated by a bunch of complicated menus I don't understand. It’s been a great tool for learning at my own pace and turning random concepts into working projects quickly. Overall, it’s an incredibly solid platform!

A Life-Changing Platform, Even After 30 Years in IT

I’ve been in IT since 1994, starting with Microsoft Access and later moving to ASP Classic web applications. Now working as a Cybersecurity Engineer in Virginia, I can confidently say Replit is a game changer. It’s slightly expensive—but the productivity, simplicity, and speed make it absolutely worth it.

Replit is awesome

Replit is awesome. Helped me validate an idea for a company that I have had for 15 years, but never could build. With Replit, I was able to have a prototype in a month.

Replit ek easy-to-use online coding platform hai jahan bina setup ke directly browser me code likh, run aur deploy kar sakte hain. Ye beginners aur quick development ke liye kaafi useful hai, AI support aur collaboration features bhi achhe hain. Haan, free plan me resources limited hote hain, lekin overall fast prototyping aur learning ke liye Replit ek acha option hai.

Very easy to get started

Very easy to get started. The new integrations are great. The only downside is when you want to make minor changes the code can break itself and you have to spend credits trying get it to resolve its errors. You can get to 80% of a project very quickly, it’s the final 20% that gets tricky. As time goes on it gets better though!

Really helpful AI helper for solo builders

I’ve been using Replit AI to build a small but real full-stack project, and it helped me a lot as a solo builder. It can read and edit my codebase, wire up pages and fix bugs much faster than I could alone.

Sometimes it needs clearer instructions, but when I explain what I want, it does a good job and saves me a lot of time. Overall I’m happy with the experience and will keep using it.

Title: Extremely expensive, non‑transparent AI billing

My experience with this platform’s AI webmaker has been extremely negative from a billing and transparency perspective.

Credit disappears very quickly when talking to the AI, and there is no clear, real‑time way to see what each interaction actually costs. The result is that normal use feels like being overcharged for every conversation.

The pricing is effectively the most expensive AI webmaking experience I have used, and the lack of clear itemized usage or warnings makes it feel like there is a “gremlin” in the system silently racking up charges. Nothing has improved despite raising concerns, and the whole situation feels borderline abusive to paying customers.

People considering this product should be aware that billing is not user‑friendly or transparent, and you may lose money to invisible charges unless you monitor everything very closely.

They keep freezing my system and so I cant deploy and blaming me for billing issues which was incorrect. I have complained and they issued some fast mode free to hook. After, the free turn into more charge (1 min talk = 45 cents racks up fast. Please take a look at the percentage of complaints almost 25% about this same issue. GREED!!!

I found out the nickel and diming still continues. I cant recommend this Company for its almost abuse and expensive Charges. I AM TERRIFIED OF THE SERVIC AS I COMPLAIN THEY OFFERED ME TO LEAVE AS I AM A TROUBLEMAKER trying to help others. REPLIT IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE AI TOOL I HAVE EVER USED.
BAR NONE. DO BETTER MATT AND COMPANY.

They've disabled the assistant

They've disabled the assistant, and this is essential for the user. The user isn't a money-making machine. If you're going to disable it, you'll force people to use the agent, which costs exorbitant amounts for every minor modification.

We don't have money, we're learning and striving. Stop exploiting people.

Running down a dream...

As a person who has no coding experience the fact that I've been able to create and deploy a fairly robust website is what makes the experience great. I really like that the Agent explains itself as it goes. For non-coders, don't make the mistake of thinking you can walk away while the agent does its thing. You can, but if you closely watch the agent work you'll have a far better understanding of what you're building. The cost and access barriers broken down by Replit are nothing short of remarkable. Don't be afraid to try...jump right in!

billing system is constantly changing and buggy

Hosting was suspended for an open $0.06 invoice which can not be paid for technical reasons apparently (there is not even an option to pay it). Support answered promptly, but has not fixed the issue yet, so hosting is down for 12 hours already with no visible chance of solution. Not reliable.
Update: They stopped answering, refuse any responsibility, and simply refer to 'you disabled your subscription's auto-renewal' which apparently means that you lose all access to databases indefinitely without the possibility of re-subscribing. Now that's some interesting policy.
Update 2: After 6 days in total, the database suddenly was accessible again. Just like that. Thanks I guess..
