Unfair fuel charge & ignored after dispute
I paid €1560 for an 8-day rental, which is already a very high price. After returning the car, €42.10 was deducted from my €500 deposit for refuelling.
The car was returned with the same fuel gauge level as when I collected it. The fuel indicator did not change. At most, a few euros of fuel could have been missing — certainly not 11.7 liters as claimed.
No photos, measurements, or proof were provided. The charge was justified only by staff “experience” and assumptions about fuel gauges being inaccurate — yet those same gauges were used to charge me.
When I formally disputed this and asked for evidence, my messages were ignored.
This experience felt unfair, non-transparent, and unprofessional. I would strongly advise future customers to take photos of the fuel gauge at pickup and return and be cautious with deposits.
