Website is impossible to use

Website is impossible to use. Tried contacting them via phone - no live person. Tried contacting via email - no response. Tried contacting through their useless website - no reply. Don’t we pay for state parks with our tax dollars? This is unacceptable. Can’t even select a damn park let alone make a reservation. It’s 2024 right?

What a scam

What a scam. Website is difficult to navigate. And when I accidentally booked the wrong date, I had to pay an extra $8 to modify. Greed.

Relentless Captchas makes it unuseable

The Relentless Captchas when attempting to book a popular site is making the site unusable. If they want to prevent bots and reservation re-sales, authenticate the user accounts via credit card on file and 100% check ID's and vehicle registrations when checking in!

Terrible reservation system

Each morning at exactly 8am I try to book a beach site. The site shows 'departure only' which means it should light up 'available' at 8am but it locks up and does not change until I leave the page and come back, then the site shows 'unavailable'. This system is terrible!

Disappointing Experience with Outdated Reservation System

I recently had the unfortunate experience of using Reserve California's reservation system, and I must express my deep dissatisfaction with its outdated functionality. It was a frustrating and time-consuming ordeal that significantly impacted my overall experience.

First and foremost, the user interface felt like a relic from the early days of the internet. Navigating through the system was a convoluted process, reminiscent of a bygone era of clunky websites. The lack of intuitive design made it difficult to find the information I needed and added unnecessary complexity to the reservation process.

Moreover, the system's responsiveness left much to be desired. I encountered frequent delays and glitches, making it evident that the technology powering this reservation system is severely outdated. In today's fast-paced digital age, such a sluggish and unresponsive system is simply unacceptable.

Attempting to modify or cancel my reservation was an exercise in frustration. The system's archaic features made even simple tasks needlessly complicated, and it took an exorbitant amount of time to complete what should have been a straightforward process. This lack of efficiency and user-friendly design is a significant drawback that negatively impacted my overall satisfaction with Reserve California.

Hate the ReserveCalifornia.com website

Hate the ReserveCalifornia.com website. Hard to search for campgrounds, you have to know which place you want to go to get reservations. It will not let you do a map search to see what sites are available.

The worst website that ever exists

The worst website that ever exists. Glitchy, kicks you out and that stupid captcha that continually pops up is a nightmare and makes it almost impossible to book anything. We are held hostage to this piece of crap site.

Worst site in the nation

Worst site in the nation. Glitchy, doesn’t recognize location. You could put new Brighton beach and it will have other option in LA. Horrible. Get with it. Provide a map view of all your locations in California and let a customer choose location available on their dates..
The richest State and the worst Accommodation. And you wonder why Californians are in so much rage.. high taxes and nothing to show for it.

Classic California government!

Classic California government!! No wonder there are 93% bad reviews!! Even the recording you have to listen to is nuts- they repeat exactly the same info TWICE!! People working don't have answers to questions or if they do, you get a completely different answer depending on whom you talk to. Totally useless. So sad this state is so inept!! And, obviously, no one cares since nothing ever improves.

Always a bad experience

This RC site and its staff are so rude. When you call the 800 # you will get people that only tell you what you can't do and never offer what you can do, how they might be able to "help". I have called many times and never had a good experience. This time we weren't able to change to a different spot after this park told us we were too big because of my son's disability card. What??? What difference does that make?! Reserve Calif do something, it doesn't need to be so hard!!!

Our campsite host was awful and rude

Our campsite host was awful and rude. He didn’t do anything maybe put toilet paper if that.we have been going to the Pismo state park for over 20 years. When we arrive there was no ranger in the kiosk. We had reservations and didn’t know we could just drive in no sign. Held up the line for 10 minutes until a nice lady told we could just go in. Camp host was in space 97. He said it wasn’t his job to be up front and let people know to come and that a ranger would come the next day to issue our permit.

Typical government in California…

Typical government in California useless site. I have been camping at California State Parks for over 50 years. This reservation system makes it almost impossible to reserve a site or tell which sites are available. Who's brilliant idea was it to split each state park into 4 to 10 different search areas. Obviously the people who made the site do not camp.

Truly awful user interface

Truly awful user interface. Very rare to see reservations available on weekends even months out. Has taken a lot of fun out of camping in CA State Parks. Seems like the sites are being booked and sold by scalpers.

Been camping in San Clemente & Carpineteria every year for the past 6 years. I have never had the system be this bad. The new website is complete garbage. It looks like I will have to switch completely to private campgrounds. They cost more but the amenities are nicer and they make it possible to plan a family vacation.
