Made a booking (at short notice)for 3 people to eat the Saturday before Christmas. Saw the menu in the window and was horrified by the prices. Decided to cancel the reservation but as they had already taken the bank card details they were going to charge £10 per person cancellation. Reluctantly went in and were told to go upstairs. Being disabled we were reluctantly shown to the lift which opened out next to the kitchen. The floor was so greasy it was difficult to walk without fear of slipping.
Once seated we were struck by the lack of enough lighting to read the menu and had to ask for additional candles. Food was mediocre and not very hot. The pork dish was nothing more than deep fried scratchings in a gooey sauce. Special fried rice was soggy.
The staff were overpowering and surly.
We declined to pay the discretionary service tip and this did not go down well!

I have just eaten sweet and sour chicken which was lovely but the beef chow mein which was completely tasteless and none event food , very disappointed and won’t be eating there there again.

Just ordered special rice with pork and vegetables, received plain rice couple of peas bit of pork, absolutely terrible didn't taste good at all, very bland, I wish hadn't bothered, I could have saved my money, what a waste of money. How can they justify doing meals so bland, charging top prices. I will never order from Shanghai Shanghai again.
