Zorba is lovely restaurant........But
Zorba is lovely restaurant, bright and clean. I had read a good review on line so we went for lunch. We did book but you don't need to for a weekday lunch. On arrival we were greeted by the most miserable person I've ever met. He said we could sit where we wanted. We choose a window seat. It's a good menu with lots to choose from. I knew I could not eat too much, so we ordered two fizzy drinks. Humus and Babaganoush with crudites and flat bread. The flat bread was cold and hard, really not nice. I sent it back and asked for fresh. It was qickly replaced with warm soft bread. The cucumber and carrots were soft, not nice and crunchy as you would expect. For our main course we ordered a mixed shish of lamb and chicken, served with rice and flatbread with a pickled cabbage garnish. The shish was fabulous, hot and succulent, melt in the mouth. The rice was fluffy and flavorsome. The pickled cabbage was horrid, it looked limp and tasted stale. We shared the shish. I could not have eaten a whole one on my own as it was a good size portion. Our meal came to £60 with tip. Sadly it was the little things that let this restaurant down especially the unfriendly staff. A smile goes a long way
