While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more
To protect platform integrity, every review on our platform—verified or not—is screened by our 24/7 automated software. This technology is designed to identify and remove content that breaches our guidelines, including reviews that are not based on a genuine experience. We recognise we may not catch everything, and you can flag anything you think we may have missed. Read more
ResuPals is a resume and cover letter builder for people who would rather not hand over their work history to a company before they have even tried the product. You can start at resupals.com with no account and no email address. What you type stays in your browser’s local storage, and you can download a finished resume as a DOCX or PDF file without signing up for anything.
How the builder works
The editor works two ways. There is a normal form to fill in, and you can also click straight onto the live preview and type there, so what you see on screen is what gets exported. Sections drag into whatever order suits you.
There are twelve sections to work with: professional summary, work experience, education, skills, certifications, languages, projects, awards, volunteer experience, publications, interests and references. The four that applicant tracking systems care about most are on by default. You switch the others on in the Style tab when your situation calls for them, and an empty section never prints.
Every template is built to survive applicant tracking systems, which means standard fonts, real heading structure, and none of the tables, columns, headers or graphics that confuse ATS software. Resumes and cover letters export as DOCX or PDF, and you can save a JSON backup of your data to import again later.
Free tools, no account needed
Not everyone needs a new resume. Some people just want to know what is wrong with the one they already have.
The ATS checker scores a resume you wrote elsewhere and tells you what it is missing, from a phone number to a work history section. The keyword scanner reads a job posting next to your resume and shows you the terms that did not make it in. There is a plain text converter for application forms that reject formatted files, a skills finder that suggests skills for your job title, and a cover letter generator. They are free, and none of them ask you to register.
We publish guides alongside them on ATS formatting, how long a resume should be, explaining employment gaps, writing bullet points and writing cover letters.
What an account changes
A free account removes the small footer from guest exports, syncs your documents across your devices, and raises the limit from one resume and one cover letter to three of each.
Paid plans add AI job tailoring: you paste in a job description and get a resume and cover letter written for that specific posting. They also include a master career profile, which is your full history stored once so any new resume can be filled from it without retyping. Paid plans come with more than ten Pro resume templates and five cover letter templates, unlimited documents, and one public resume link at resupals.com/r/yourname.
The AI work runs on credits. One credit is one generated document, so a resume and a cover letter for the same job costs two. Student is $9.99 a month or $79 a year with 40 credits a month. Pro is $19.99 a month or $149 a year with 160. Pro+ is $29.99 a month or $199 a year with 240. Lifetime is $199 once and includes 480. If you run out, a credit pack is $10 for 20.
Privacy, money and the fine print
Your content is never used to train AI models. We do not sell your data and we do not run ad trackers. The usage numbers we keep stay in our own database. Guest mode sends nothing to a server at all, and account data is encrypted in transit and at rest. You can download everything we hold about you from your profile, under Privacy and your data, and you can delete your account yourself without emailing anyone.
Payments run through Stripe, which handles cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We never see or store your full card number. Cancelling takes one click in your account settings, with no phone call and no retention maze on the way out. The refund rules are published before you buy: inside 14 days, if you have used less than 10% of your plan’s credits, you get the whole amount back, and customers in the EU and UK keep their statutory withdrawal rights on top of that.
The site is built against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Resu, Polly and Cova are the three mascots you will meet along the way. Resu helps you build, Polly runs the ATS check and the export, and Cova handles cover letters. They are the reason it is called ResuPals.

ResuPals is one of the very few resume builders I have found where its actual free and you can create and download your resume without being hit with a paywall at the end or a ton of ads throughout the experience asking you to purchase some pro or premium experience. Many other sites make you spend a ton of time building everything, then require an account or subscription before you can export it. ResuPals lets you download the resume even if you don't sign up.
The builder is pretty straightforward and the templates look professional, and there are quite a few extra tools like the cover letter builder and a bunch of other tools on the site that can be used for free without an account.
It's pretty refreshing to actually find a serve that provides a solid, free, and overall "ad-less" experience while keeping the optional paid features optional. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone working on applying to jobs right now or wanting to just clean up their existing resume.
