Is Resupply good charity?

We were really hoping to donate our refurbished dishwasher to Resupply today, as we truly wanted it to go to someone in need. I even took the time to fix the spring and include all the hoses so it would be ready for its next home.

Unfortunately, we were quite surprised to find that the pickup was coordinated through a service charging over $150. Because of this unexpected cost, we’ve decided to cancel the donation and will be finding another way to dispose of it. We'll be looking into other options for our future donations.

Truong,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the pickup service was not what you were expecting.

It sounds like there may have been some confusion regarding our role. Resupply is a donation pickup service that coordinates the collection and delivery of donated items on behalf of nonprofit charity partners. While the donation itself benefits the charity, our pickup service is a separate, paid convenience option for donors who would like items collected from their home.

We understand that this service may not be the right fit for everyone, and we appreciate your desire to donate your dishwasher rather than dispose of it. We wish you the best in finding a donation option that meets your needs, and thank you for your willingness to support a charitable cause.

Horrendous experience

Horrendous experience. Paid habitat over $200 to expedite pickup. Had contractor and his team spend an extra 3-4 hours carefully removing our cabinets for donation. Scheduled pickup for 8-noon on Wednesday this week. We got no follow up notification via text or email. At 1 pm we called them directly, used email and text to see if they were coming. After 45 min on hold, guy told me he would call them directly drivers directly and immediately. Two hours later - nothing. Day ended w no more interaction. So the cabinets ended up in the dumpster. We had to move on. You guys suck.

Terrible experience, terrible customer service

In 2025 I had a great experience with Resupply, they were on-time and professional and the fee was only about $150. Cut to June 2026 and about the same amount of stuff came to about $500. I was surprised but decided to go ahead with it because they could pick up next day.

They gave me a pick up window of noon to 4:00 PM but showed up sometime after 5:00 which is outside of what the building allowed. They rescheduled for the following morning because my client was not available in the afternoon. The following morning they called to reschedule for the afternoon. I immediately tried to contact them by phone to cancel or reschedule but was told they only did customer service via text. I texted them, waited 3 hours for a response, and within that time, the truck had actually showed up at the building. Fortunately my client had a cancellation and was available.

The driver then added $100 recycling fee to the original estimate and required my sign off before he would take the items. Meanwhile my text with customer service had gone silent so they were no help. Finally I agreed to the charges. The driver had failed to bring anyone with him to help so my client's super gave the guy a hand using a cart that the building owned.

After that I began a very frustrating and slow text conversation with customer service, letting them know how disappointed i was with the service and the additional charge. They said the additional charge was a recycling fee that could be refunded if all of the items were accepted by Goodwill and didn't need recycling or disposal. Then they told me that some of the items were damaged (which was BS) and needed to be disposed of so the $100 fee couldn't be refunded.

I'm still waiting for a call from a supervisor but based everything they've told me so far, I'm not optimistic.

Dale,

We're sorry to hear that your recent experience did not reflect the positive service you received previously. We understand how frustrating it was to experience delays, schedule changes, and difficulty getting timely updates from our support team.

We also apologize for the communication surrounding your request to speak with a supervisor. A member of our leadership team did attempt to reach you, and when they were unable to connect, they followed up to see if you were still interested in speaking. In the meantime, we reviewed your concerns and processed a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill.

We recognize that the combination of the delayed arrival, scheduling changes, and questions about the additional charges resulted in a disappointing experience. Your feedback has been shared internally as we continue working to improve our communication, response times, and overall pickup experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from it and are sorry we fell short of your expectations.

First of all they misrepresented…

First of all they misrepresented themselves as being connected with Salvation Army. Second; they quoted a price of $200. Third; when they got here they took pictures & sent them to their "supervisor " & the price went to $400.

Kandi,

We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We'd like to clarify that we are an independent company that coordinates donation pickups on behalf of a network of nonprofit charity partners, including Salvation Army. We do not represent or claim to be the charity itself, and we're sorry if that was not clear during the scheduling process.

Regarding pricing, the initial quote is based on the information provided when the pickup is scheduled. If the volume of items changes or if the items on-site differ significantly from what was originally listed, the hauling team may reassess the pickup and update the price before any work begins. This allows you to review and approve the revised cost before proceeding.

We understand that an unexpected price increase can be frustrating, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We'll use your comments to continue improving how we communicate our process and pricing expectations.

Small Donation Experience

The process of arranging pick-up of items is amazing and efficient. the items that can be donated in Portland, OR is limited by the Goodwill list. The cost for donating a few items (Qty = 10) is steep ($318). The cost is more reasonable when a large number of items are being donated.

Randy,

We appreciate your feedback regarding our donation pick-up service. We understand your concerns about the donation limitations in Portland and the cost for fewer items. We are always working to improve our services and pricing structures as well as different type of pickup teams so that a pickup through ReSupply can better fit more types of donors.

I was very disappointed

I was very disappointed. I scheduled a pickup last week, and no one showed up. So I tried again Monday. Once again, no one showed up. They never even contacted me until I complained.

Very Misleading!

Provided a low ball estimate initially. When the Junk Removal crew showed up, there was no talk of any donations. Just all being scrapped as junk. Instead of doing something good and donating to the Salvation Army, and working with a veteran owned company, I was charged more than double the original quote and had to leave a few of the items behind because the costs were so high. If I had more time, I would have just rented a dumpster and it would have cost less. Don't use these guys...it's basically an overpriced junk removal company riding the coattails of a 401c non-profit and veteran owned company. It's a sad scam actually..

Bait and switch situation

I appreciate that in the beginning they were quick and helpful. I entered the info and was emailed a quote. I was upfront and even uploaded a photo of the item. Scheduled for pickup 7 days later. That day came, I tried to contact the business several times to get a more accurate time of time of pickup. Never received a call, text, or email. Finally, I went into my email and at 4 pm, I found out that the driver was unable to get ahold of me and canceled the event. I was home all day and available. So I emailed to have the piano picked up again. I was then told that the cost would be double of the original quote and it would be another week. My thought was why did my pricing change? Why was i never contacted via phone for any issues? Why now was there never any contact from the driver or the contact centers? I almost feel as if this is a "bait and switch" and o would issue a BUYER BEWARE!

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! DO NOT USE GOODWILL PICK-UP SERVICES.

I found them on the Goodwill website.

The entire experience was fine until the guys arrived for the pick-up and told me, "You are going to get a link on your phone. We sent them a picture and you have to confirm that we are picking up the right things. Oh, and you might be charged a recycling fee."

Then they said that if I wanted to give them a tip, they'd prefer cash.

The donated items were a 40-year-old dresser with detachable mirror, in good condition - solidly made, all drawers and hinges working smoothly, and cosmetic signs of aging, but no damage, on the top surface of the dresser.

They said they should wait until I got the link and confirmed that they were taking the right stuff, but since there didn't seem to be any question about what they were to take, they'd start moving the things. I went with them to open the door.

After they put the donated items on the truck, they asked if I had received the link. I had, but hadn't opened it.

They said that they couldn't leave until I had clicked that I confirmed. So, I opened the link and got the BIG SURPRISE: The original quote of $134.xx had been increase to $256.72.

They had added $11.75 for fuel; $9.99 because I had detached the mirror from the dresser (for ease of moving), and was charged for a second item; and $100 for a recycling charge (the movers said it was old).

So, these perfectly good items were not going to benefit anyone from Goodwill. Or did they tell me it was old and charge me a "recycling" fee but give it to Goodwill anyway?

If I had known about all the up-charges, I would have put it out at the curb, and it would have been picked up for free. WHAT A SCAM ! ! !

First appointment canceled, second no show and no support

First appointment canceled by them. Second appointment no show. No response to multiple text messages. No human to speak to. I want to support local businesses and vet operated businesses, but they need to keep their end of the deal. This organization did not and left me in a very bad position. I could not use them in the future and cannot recommend

Lori,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this caused.

After reviewing your account, it appears that your address falls outside of our standard service area. During the scheduling process, our system provides a notification explaining that addresses outside our pickup zone require additional review to determine whether a nearby hauling partner is available to complete the service. Unfortunately, we were unable to secure service for your location.

While your first appointment was canceled because your address was outside our coverage area, we recognize that the communication surrounding your subsequent request did not meet the standard we strive to provide. We understand how disappointing it is to expect a pickup and not receive timely updates, especially when you have made arrangements based on the scheduled appointment.

We appreciate your interest in supporting local and veteran-operated businesses, and we regret that we were unable to provide the experience you expected. Your feedback regarding communication and appointment handling has been shared with our team as we continue working to improve our processes for requests outside our standard service area.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

An excellent first-time experience.

This was a first-time experience with a large donation to Habitat for Humanity & the retail operations ReSupply. We were able to coordinate large items for pick up & a convenient schedule with Resupply then directly with the hauler. Timing, professional communications & careful handling made the pickup smooth & successful
We used text & email to track each step of the move, including instructions on how the donation values are set.
We highly recommend the hauling company that was used to pick up, load & deliver. They were friendly & expert.
All in all a great first-time experience.

New life for our old stuff

We were able to donate our still usable but no longer needed furniture in a timely manner. Although we did pay a fee to do so, it was a small price to pay for knowing that these items were not in a landfill and that someone else might benefit from them.

The company that schedules this are…

The company that schedules this are beat and switch. You get charged for donating nice things which is what all of the company seem to be doing now we scheduled to have two pieces of furniture picked up. They quoted us a price we made a date they did a different company shows up the company that showed up was very nice. However we’re told we have to pay an extra hundred dollars in case the thrift places do not want our furniture. They’ll give it back to us if they take our furniture but you have to pay extra hundred dollars in advance. It’s a crock of garbage and a bait and switch tactic. There’s absolutely no reason that they charge should charge an extra hundred to take away nice furniture I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody and I did notify one of the thrift stores about their underhanded practices

Janice,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience left you feeling this way.

We want to clarify that we do not use bait-and-switch pricing. The estimate provided during scheduling is based on the items requested for pickup. In some cases, if a hauling partner identifies items that may not meet a nonprofit partner's donation guidelines, they may offer an alternative option to remove those items for a recycling or disposal fee. Any such fees are discussed on-site before moving forward, and you are under no obligation to accept them.

We're glad to hear that you found the hauling team courteous, but we're sorry that the overall experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to better communicate how our donation and alternative disposal options work so there are no surprises on the day of pickup.
