Not For Everybody
I heard about this company and their customized booklets a few years ago and decided to give them a try. Sometimes, first impressions make lasting ones, so here it goes: The agreement onboarding and contract you must initial and submit with payment is fairly tight and upfront. The books are customized, but you’ve got to do that immediately after you join or you’ll forget. They are relatively short and ancient reading, full of small text and charts that none but the most studious will stick with. The good part is they are customized with your picture and bio/ co bio on the cover and 3 inside pages. And, I just found out you have to physically go into your CRM and click a tab to email them, so they’re not auto-sent when the client orders it. They even recommend that you spend more $ printing them all out and mailing them, for “best results.” As far as the leads, I'm in San Diego, so the day my card was charged the leads came rushing in before I even received my initial onboarding call or customized the books with my info!!! This tells me that no one is really overseeing your account was “ready” before fulfilling the lead order. Also, they usually start coming in at 4 AM, so ya gotta wonder if they’re actually from the day before or if people are up that early looking at financial infomercials on FB. Ok, so I got 4 of the "max" 5 leads per day for 3 straight days and before I could spell "WTF," I only had 5 pre-paid leads left before they'd have to start charging me again ($32 per lead) and I couldn't pause or cancel for another 2 weeks! At the 4 per day lead rate, that would mean I'd be spending ANOTHER $1,632 for the privilege of probably chasing people who won't pick up the phone or respond to multiple drips. Exactly what I hate doing. I think I spoke with a person, who hung up on me. Their initial script suggests I happen to be a ‘close neighbor’ of theirs and gets into some chit-chat about that, which feels peculiar at best, may have worked up to the 1970’s, and still some lonely seniors, but with everyone skeptical of every call now, it feels ancient and contrived - especially if you don't live near them and don’t know their area if they drill you about it.
I emailed their service department 2 days ago and got a confirmation of receipt, but nothing else since. Look, if you’ve got cash and patience, don’t mind hunting them down and can go door knock, there is a possibility you’ll get lucky. But if you’re virtual you’ll likely be out 2-3 grand before you make your first appointment, if at all, and there’s no one to talk to or readily communicate with, not even a chatbot, which shows how old-skool this system is as far as client (agent) communication. Is this a scam, my jury’s still out and if I find out it is I’ll get with my credit card company for a refund. But it’s def not for the squeamish. I quit today and have 60 days to re-join with no new charges. If you decide to do the same, make sure to screenshot your client list for future drips before you can't get back in. Good luck to all!
