While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

To protect platform integrity, every review on our platform—verified or not—is screened by our 24/7 automated software. This technology is designed to identify and remove content that breaches our guidelines, including reviews that are not based on a genuine experience. Retriever Claim helps renters across England and Wales check whether their tenancy deposit was protected, and claim back what they are owed when it was not. Under the Housing Act 2004, a landlord who takes a deposit on an assured shorthold tenancy must protect it in a government-backed deposit protection scheme, DPS, TDS or mydeposits, within 30 days, and give the tenant the prescribed information. Many landlords do not. When a deposit is left unprotected, a tenant may be owed the deposit back plus compensation of up to three times its value, and the right to claim can last up to six years, even after you have moved out. It starts with a free, two-minute deposit check. If there has been a breach, Retriever Claim can take the tenancy deposit claim forward on a no win no fee basis, so you pay nothing up front and only pay if money is recovered. If a claim succeeds, a capped success fee of up to 25% is taken from the compensation; the deposit check itself is always free. We keep the whole process calm, plain and firmly on the tenant's side, the opposite of pushy claims-company spam. Alongside tenancy deposit claims, we help renters with housing disrepair claims and point people to the right route across claims management more widely. Retriever Claim is a trading style of Claim Simple Ltd, an FCA-regulated claims management company (FRN 830182). We are not a law firm; regulated panel solicitors carry out the legal work.
