Request for information and part number

I have made multiple requests through their web site to information on a water heater I have installed in my home. System indicates a representative will contact me shortly. No contact number provided and no response to my requests. Chance of me buying another Rheem product based on the lack of response is slim and/or none. Very poor customer service.

Weather King / Rheem

Weather King / Rheem
Worst Customer Support — Even Rheem Doesn’t Know Them!
I seriously regret buying Weather King. There’s no phone number for support, and when I filled out their contact form, nobody even bothered to reply. What’s worse is that Weather King is supposed to be a division or subsidiary of Rheem, but when I reached out to Rheem, they didn’t even know what Weather King is!

This means if you have an issue, you’re completely on your own — nobody cares and nobody takes responsibility. For a company claiming to be backed by Rheem, this level of neglect is embarrassing. I hope the management at Weather King reads this and realizes how little they value their customers. If you don’t want headaches, stay far away from this brand!

I would like to leave this with you on…

I would like to leave this with you on the Rheem unit. Because I believe in telling the truth about a product. As somebody who works on these units for 34 years.I would never, ever tell anybody to purchase one of these units.Their engineers have the brains God gave a rock. And that is putting it politely. What a horrible build this unit is and I'm working on a Rheem commercial unit. And what a piece of junk this thing is. The way It is designed the way it's put together. The way they Recess their access valves. It's like their engineers got the brains that God gave a box of rocks.

They should not even get one star

They should not even get one star! Product came damaged. They will not replace parts without a serial number. Table top model Purchased through Home Depot. Neither will make this right. It is installed and the top came damaged and needs replaced. Where do I file a small claim against rheem. I’m not letting them get by with this! No serial number! What a scam!

Rheem Water Heater Fiasco

My water has been out for 3 weeks. I've called their Customer Service department numerous times. Yesterday, I got authorization to take unit bk to HD & I have to pay out of pocket since the unit is 5 years old. Versus them paying for a plumber to see if it's fixable. I have 2 jobs and I don't have any free time.

What a disaster.

Giving one star is being generous

Giving one star is being generous. Absolutely terrible service. After our new hot water system broke after a few months it was hard work on our end getting them to replace it, and weeks to come back and pick up the old one. DO NOT RECOMMEND! They also lied to us on multiple occasions about calling/emailing us. Weeks later they actually asked us for an email address (odd since apparently they emailed us). Honestly save your time and money and go else where!

Bought a model ProG40-38U RH62 EC1-1

Bought a model ProG40-38U RH62 EC1-1
On Sept 23 2024 Installed the same day
It was MFG on 30 Aug 2024
Went out 12 31 2024. From a leak from the bottom of the tank.
The supply house I bought it from was close for the holiday so I had to buy from a local box. store that night so I would have hot water for the holiday.
Returned the bad one back to the supply house the only thing they would just give me a replacement. No refund!!!!!!
Now I have a water heater that I can not use.

Bought 3 tankless water tanks at home…

Bought 3 tankless water tanks at home depot, when I needed parts to install Home Depot couldn't order, had to go to Rheem's site, well. items out of stock ( why sell something you can supply parts for installation?) is like a scam. called Rheem 6 times currently on hold see if I can get this taken care, if not I will un install the 3 tanks and return. every time you call there area like 10 different promos to go through only to end at the wrong person they transfer you back and have to start all over again. nothing gets solve and they expect you as a homeowner to go to their site and everything there, no help at all. don't waste your time and money with Rheem. Still on hold saying 10 more minutes.Terrible experience

Very difficult to reach Customer Service to fix problems

New water heater had numerous parts replaced and then they decided to replace the unit under warranty, said they would call a installer, but after several weeks, no-one ever called.
It often takes an hour on hold to reach someone at Rheem's Customer Service - there is no option to have them call back when your turn comes up.
Secondly, they had no-one who could do the warranty replacement of my water heater, said I had to hire a plumber myself and they would reinburse labor cost. Problem is it takes them 10 weeks to reimburse based on my inquiry on a previous credit due me for an earlier repair call.

DO NOT INSTALL A RHEEM

Continuous issues with a hot water system, their warranty process and after sales service is despicable and is a disgrace.
After a technician visited a property in Plumpton Victoria, he didn't even check the hot water before leaving. Company took another 4 days to send someone out to finally do the job only to want to charge a preauthorization twice. After leaving this feedback, their customer service team touched base to say they would investigate the issue only to be told bad luck 3 weeks later.
The second this faulty hot water system finally gives up I will be replacing it with an alternative system all together.

DO NOT BUY A RHEEM PRODUCT

DO NOT BUY A RHEEM PRODUCT,IT IS NOT MADE WELL AND WILL NOT LAST. IF YOU EVER HAVE A PROBLEM YOU CANNOT COUNT OF THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT, IT IS THE WORST, THEY PUT YOU ON HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES OR LONGER AND THEN TRANSFER YOU. I WAS ON HOLD OVER AN HOUR. THE WATER HEATER I BOUGHT IS LESS THAN A MONTH OLD, THE HOT WATER LASTS 4 MINUTES PER SHOWER AND TURNS TO COLD, I WASTED $1200 DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Do not buy a Rheem water heater

Do not buy a Rheem water heater. I drained my 2 year old Rheem classic gas water heater as recommended and it would not restart. In troubleshooting I discovered a known issue with the gas control valves. I contacted Rheem as it was still under warranty and spent almost 4 hours on the phone going through their troubleshooting and warranty process. They finally admitted the known problem was due to a faulty Italian part (GCU) they used when they ran into supply chain problems during the pandemic. I scheduled an appointment with one of their certified/recommended partners and got an estimate on $800 in labor. I received the part from Rheem and installed it myself in an hour. They do not stand behind their products but did give me free shipping as a "courtesy."

Having problems with our new Rheem…

Having problems with our new Rheem Hybrid Water Heater in that energy savings mode (ESM) is not working properly. Temperature is set at 120 degrees and in ESM mode only (other settings are fine) the faucet temperature is around 113 degrees. We had it checked by a technician and there were no error codes and was told by Rheem that because there are no error codes it is working fine. Right! They also told me to raise the temperature setting which is band aid approach. To compound the issue I have a recirculating pump and was told by Rheem that these Hybrid units are not compatible and you need to run in high energy mode which is more costly. The pump causes the water heater to run more often and will shorten the life of the water heater. Something the company that sold it to me was not aware of. Still trying to contest it but Rheem is dragging its feet.

Bought and a Air sourced 270L Ambient…

Bought an Air sourced 270L Ambient Sidevent Rheem Heat Pump Water Heater installed 1st August 2024. We are always running out of hot water and the water heater doesn't turn on when its supposed to i.e when you turn a shower or hot water tap on.
The panel can be on 5 bars and 60 Deg Celsius but after a 20 min shower can be down to 35 Deg Cel and 1 bar. We have 7 in the family and i was told it was big enough for 6 people. Rheem keeps directing me to the plumbers as though it was their fault.

Reem hot water heaters are terrible

In early September we purchased a Reem hot water heater from Home Depot. They have their own company that brought it out and installed it. Three days later, the alarm went off, saying it needed service. The gentleman came out, re-sealed everything, then left. Less than 24 hours later the alarm went off again. This time they came out and replaced it. This was on Sept. 12, 2024. Fast forward less than a month later. On Oct. 8 the alarm went off again. It took two days for the plumber to get here. He called Reem and they said the Mother Board needed to be replaced. They ordered a new one and it will take 8 days to get here! Apparently shipping overnight to keep their customers happy is not important to them. And during this entire time, we have no hot water! Their products are crap and their customer service is even worse. DO NOT BUY A REEM WATER HEATER.

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Replaced an instant gas water heater unit under warranty and it didn’t work 6 hours later after the technician left. This was on a Tuesday….. called the customer service centre and the soonest they could get a technician out was Thursday and they considered that to be priority service. We now have no hot water in the middle of winter with kids for two days. The customer service rep was in no way apologetic or sympathetic and said if I had an issue I should call back tomorrow when other staff were back in. Far from the kind of service I would expect from company that consider themselves a ‘trusted brand’.

Don’t waste your money buying a Rheem. We purchased one of the more expensive…

We purchased one of the more expensive Rheem gas hot water systems - a 155 litre unit with a stainless steel tank and no anode. It lasted less than six years and for the last two years we have had to put up with water at only 40 degrees as the mixing valve wasn’t working properly.
Very disappointed and unimpressed.
The Rheem company clearly doesn’t care about quality any more.
So we’ve gone elsewhere for our new HWS.

Most crooked company ever

Wow, This is probably the most crooked company I have ever dealt with. My one year old water heater failed. I called Rheem to honor the warranty. They sent their specific plumber. He told me that since it was installed wrong, that they would not honor the warranty. He went on to tell me that over 99% of all hot water heaters are installed wrong. Which means that Rheem won't cover over 99% of warranties. I am a general contractor and I have had over 200 houses. I have never seen a water heater hooked up the way he said it should be. I also called 20 plumbers who agreed with me. He also went on to tell me that his particular water heater was horrible, and if they honored the warranties on them then they would lose too much money. He also told me that Rheem wouldn't sell me the parts even if I wanted to pay to fix it. The whole experience was surreal and creepy.

I had a Rheem Air Conditioner for 30…

I had a Rheem Air Conditioner for 30 years I think about 15 years ago I had a capacitor put in I just put in another full Rheem AC and Gas furnace, and the old furnace was still working fine but at 30 years I figured it was just a matter of time. I have had nothing but good service with Rheem. I have put in 2 Rheem gas water heater in 30 years but our water is awful and we keep the heater on its highest setting. So I can't complain about them either.
