No Response, Refund Still Outstanding
This is my second review on Trustpilot regarding Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology. Despite my previous complaint and direct escalation, Richfield has failed to respond or process my refund of R1,600.
Timeline Recap:
- 22 Dec 2025: Paid R1,600 registration fee.
- 09 Jan 2026: Submitted cancellation request.
- 12 Jan 2026: Richfield confirmed in writing that my request was within the 21‑day cooling‑off period.
- 14 Jan 2026: Richfield acknowledged receipt and confirmed my request was forwarded for approval and processing.
- 06 Mar 2026: Submitted refund application form with all required documents.
- To date: No refund, no written response, no accountability.
Issue:
Richfield’s silence and refusal to act is unacceptable. Section 16 of the Consumer Protection Act entitles consumers to cancel within the cooling‑off period and receive a refund, subject only to reasonable cancellation charges. Richfield’s conduct amounts to:
- Breach of the CPA.
- Misrepresentation of cancellation fees.
- Failure to respond to formal complaints and public reviews.
Relief Sought:
- Immediate refund of R1,600.
- Written confirmation of compliance.
- Accountability for ignoring both direct communication and public complaints.
Richfield’s continued silence demonstrates disregard for consumer rights and regulatory compliance. I am escalating this matter further with the National Consumer Commission (NCC), the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), and the Council on Higher Education (CHE).
