The Ride High Equestrian Centre is set in 37 acres of countryside in Loughton, in the heart of Milton Keynes. We offer riding lessons and school holiday activities to the general public, focussing on under 16's, and we also provide supported learning programmes for individuals, schools and agencies. We have a range of ponies and horses to suit all skill levels, but our maximum weight limit for ridden activities is 12 stone as the welfare of our horses is paramount. We do not hire our horses out for trekking. We’re a social enterprise; all profits from the Ride High Equestrian Centre are used to support the local charity Ride High, which transforms the lives of Milton Keynes’ most disadvantaged children.

AVOID. This is no place for vulnerable children or animals

Awful place. Horses are slapped, struck with riding crops to make them 'canter' and trot multiple times a day, whipped and yelled at by staff to the point of disengagement, all in front of children who are suffering mental health, learning difficulties or who come from traumatic backgrounds. Children are visibly uncomfortable seeing the horses struck, even asking volunteers for ' reassurance', volunteer turnover is high with reports of them feeling unsupported and left to their own devices after little training. Staff are mostly unfriendly, which is not surprising considering the way that they treat the animals. There are far better ways to support vulnerable children, this organisation is detrimental to children's wellbeing in both the short term and the long run. Would give this a zero out of 5 if I could.
