Avoid

We were promised the work would be completed in 3/4 weeks but unfortunately we were let down numerous times. Week after week we waited in and no-one came which was very frustrating. It was also a safety issue when we were left without an outside conservatory door for weeks.
So instead of taking weeks the job took months to complete. Despite the inability to get in touch with anyone, on the day the work was finished someone visited our home demanding immediate payment of the balance.
Since installation of the windows and conservatory and windows we've had to get in touch as the bay windows moved and cracks developed in the walls. The company's owner agreed that the wall had moved and as a 'gesture of goodwill' offered to put this right provided we paid for the materials (£1000). Once again there was delay after delay in starting work. It took 3 months for the work to start. Before the work was completed we were told to transfer most of the money into the owners personal account and pay the balance to the workman on the final day. On the last day we queried payment as additionally vat was demanded and the work was not finished ( we were left with a gap between the cladding and windows which was an eyesore). We were threatened that we had to pay and the workman told us he had been ordered not to leave until we handed over the money. We are elderly and this was upsetting.
Eventually they left leaving the job unfinished and a garden full of rubble.
We paid the company over £16500.

Delivered damaged windows

Delivered damaged windows, window frames that sloped on centre rail, glazing beads that were cut badly, welds that looked like an erupting volcano.
Rep did attend when I was not there, explained the problem on sloping frame and his rely was packing between brickwork and frame was the problem.
Maybe he saw the problem because as soon as wife tuned up he ignored her and left. the beads he told me to hit with a mallet, the damage they would never acknowledge and then refuse to talk claiming to comply with GDPR rules. Since then I have had to purchase all windows from another company and only paying once i had a chance to approve them on delivery.
If you use them do not pay a deposit and check very carefully because I found them to be a shower of.

Words fail me with this firm

Words fail me with this firm . You have to pay 25% upfront , first mistake . Had a start date then fri before they were due to start on mon cancelled for 3wks . Brickie dug foundations , building inspector said not ok . Had to have architect extra£300 needed more concrete £360 , base not down nearly £700 extra! All materials came for brickie then day after lockdown . Resumed work in May , took him a month to do base & brickwork 10ft x12ft building ins came & he’d not put insulation in most of it! , damp proof not correct etc .we had to keep ringing to see when they were coming , not turning up , roof not passed , delays with getting lantern that Russell told me had come , ringing owner , not taking my calls , had to keep using other phones so they didn’t know it was us so they’d ans phone ! A 5 wk job took over 12monthes a lot of stress and intimidation from them , felt bullied at times . Owner promised us everything would be done and they did come for a few days but it didn’t last ! Talked to his PA who is his daughter she put phone down on us after telling us crap . I sent 4 recorded delivery letters to try to get them to finish job within 14days , they would come for 1day ! So in end I gave them a date to finish or I was getting someone else to ! I’d refused to pay any mire money till job was finished , that was the wisest thing I did and I wouldn’t pay until building inspector had passed it ,although they tried to get it off me before . Yes we’re elderly and disabled . I should have gone to solicitors instead of trying to sort myself . We have no guarantee and it cost £18,000 . So if you use this firm after reading these reviews good luck cos you will need it and an infinite amount of patience!

Not worth the stress , avoid using

We decided to go with Rightframe as we were assured by the lady who visited, and assessed what we needed to be done, that our porch and building work could both be done by them. We were given a contract, with no breakdown of costs, just a total price, in November 2020. We gave a deposit and it has taken 6 months for work to finally be completed, needing numerous phone calls to chase them. We can’t fault the workmanship, but it has been 6 long months of stress, lack of communication, management saying we had done/said things we hadn’t and if we tried to explain we were met with defensive, and sometimes arrogant, responses provoking out of character responses by us.
We will never use this company again and suggest no one else does unless you are ready for a stressful event

Feel ripped off!

We used Right Frame previously for our rear doors and they did a great job with no problems. We went to use them again and told the representative that we needed the doors fitting by a certain date. When the surveyor arrived we were informed that couldn't be done in such a short turn around so we had to go elsewhere. I really don't know how they could possibly have the cheek to keep £100 of our deposit telling us that they never said that they could install the doors before our specified date? Well you did!
I genuinely feel cheated and ripped off.

Excellent work and very helpful

I would like to thank Sally for all her help when choosing our windows and doors. She was very helpful and understanding to our needs. The work that Shane and Matt carried out was excellent and they left it very clean. We would highly recommend Rightframe to our friends, thanks again,
Mr and Mrs Whattam

We used Rightframe based on the…

We used Rightframe based on the positive reviews we had read online - this was the reason we decided to write our first ever review for those who may be trying to find a competent builder as we did.

We now know that we were extremely fortunate that we had a competent Building Inspector, and enough patience to finally get to the end (We wont lament on the negatives, but have noted a handful of bullet points which illustrates only some of the challenges we had so that you can decide for yourselves based on the facts rather than a "rant".

The expensive Architects plans which had be completed were not used at all. RightFrame accused
Us of constant design changes when all we asked was that the plans which had been passed in planning be adhered to, they also said that the huge time delay was because they didn’t have The House keys for the first 2 weeks Whilst we went on holiday even though they had told us they didn’t need them and could continue with the footings.
This are a few of the issue which the building inspector failed it on ...
Timber (inadequate in size) was used for the Roof, which could not support the weight, and had to be removed and replaced with the steel this had been identified as required on the plans.

The Roof had to be completely rebuilt as a Cold Roof and not a Warm Roof was installed as per plans.which then had to be straightened as the internal ceiling had the same “fall” as the external roof so had a 3inch slant from one side to the other internally.

Pre-Glued, pre-used and pre-stretched Rubber was attempted to be reused from the cold roof to the warm roof (they were told not to in advance Which was ignored resulting In the old rubber having to be removed and replaced with new ).

The floor was originally installed with no insulation, No visqueen and should have had a 4inch layer of concrete (essentially 2 wooden posts were Knocked into the ground and secured with post Crete to which a single joist was fastened which they deemed sufficient to carry the weight of the floor )

The Floor was so uneven it created a 4 inch step into the adjoining room so it had to be taken up with the expensive bifold doors removed while a course of bricks were taken out then all lowered and replaced

2 Full breeze block walls had to be taken down as the insulation was missing .

There was no damp proof course In one side of the building so a course of bricks had to be removed gradually to rectify this.

External Brick work does not match up either horizontally nor vertically.

Internal walls are not level either horizontally or vertically.

We do now, after a Long 6 month over run, have our house back and the extra living space we were seeking (just dont look to close with a spirit level!). My husband and I are pensioners, and we would not repeat the experience ourselves, we would like to reiterate just how much we owe to the building inspector without him we dread to think where we would be . We do have pictures of this “High quality finish” As RightFrame call it !

Unprofessional beyond belief

This company RIGHTFRAME is an disgrace and it was not a very nice experience in all honesty.
Had a new conservatory fitted over two years ago now and from day one it leaked, had to resort to putting out sheeting and buckets because it Was literally pouring in.
RF came back and tried repair the damage, luckily we didn’t have any furniture in at the time or it would’ve been ruined.
They had to come back countless times for one thing and another, for eg no steel girders above where bifold doors were so it was a real struggle to close them properly and if they had dropped so they wouldn’t lock.
So RF came back to install steel and of course the doors fitted like a dream when it was done properly.
Then we discovered RF hadn’t put hardly any wood in the roof and NO insulation to which I was astonished.
Got photographic evidence of all the mess and unprofessionalism from day one!
Another RF hero came back and even said to me he wouldn’t even let his own family inside the conservatory it was that shocking.
As I write this review it’s leaking and Robert Dawson the manager has kindly washed his hands of it all and is ignoring my calls and voicemails I wonder why.
