Contractor for Homeserve. Excellent
Have maintenance contract with Homeserve and reported to them the heating part of my boiler wasn't working. Dave from rightgas came, had a diverter valve in his van and was able to install it. I appreciated he wore shoe covers and was mindful of making sure no water was left in the airing cupboard. Fantastic service and hope if I have more boiler problems he comes.

Thermostat
Gentleman called Dave came to my grandmother's flat in hounslow as she said she had no heating. The issue was simply a turned down thermostat and closed radiator valves. My grandmother is Italian and often very difficult. David went above and beyond, ensuring nanny was warm and was polite and helpful throughout, excellent service

Our boiler needed a new part in which we had gas engineer, Paul to come and fix. He was very nice and explained it was another part that needed replacing instead and luckily had it on him. He was very informative and communicative. Great customer and engineering service. Thank you!

Rude company, rude customer service
Had this company come in for our annual boiler service organised by my boiler insurance company. Service found I needed some parts replaced but engineer couldn’t order the parts or book the job in to replace them and suggested I call the insurers instead for them to order and book the job. However the customer service lady from RIGHTGAS called me today and rudely said she couldn’t order the parts either despite it actually being her job!
She was so god damn rude and kept interrupting me that I ended up hanging up on her. Called my insurers and they are sending another company to deal with my service and repair instead as I refuse to deal with RIGHTGAS anymore.
Annual boiler check
Annual boiler check through Direct and General, David from Right Gas was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Fixed a problem discovered during the check with parts from his van, no need to rebook a fix. Some good advice given too.

A difficult situation made easy
Sometimes an organisation shows it's true colours when things don't go perfectly.
What impressed me about Right Gas was that
1) The telephone staff were empathetic and responsive to my worries and confusion
2) The matter was efficiently escalated without me even asking for that and a manager called me back, out of hours on a friday evening, and used his greater understanding to resolve the issue with me. Then on a second occasion he called me back promptly and took action to deal with the resulting interactions needed with Homeserve, where it's not really possible to speak with someone that understands the technology.
Detail:
Due to a complex set of circumstances an engineer misinterpreted our thermostat as not working. The first I heard about it was when Right Gas phoned me and tried to make a new appointment to fix it, which
1) confused me as the tenants had reported everything passing and everything working and
2) worried me greatly as that would mean the Gas Safety Certificate was not current.
As stated above my concerns were considerately handled.
It turned out that because the boiler had tripped an internal switch and needed restarting (which the engineer had done rather than just saying that it wasn't working so he couldn't do the Safety Check) the thermostat needed some time to reconnect with the boiler. Similar situations with other suppliers have resulted in months of wrangling and service failure. The opposite was the case here.
I also think that it's impressive that Right Gas had taken steps to remedy the perceived problem in ordering the parts etc.
In short - everything was taken care of in a way that minimised my stress and work. I am genuinely grateful.
