BEWARE SLEAZY UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY
I wouldn't even give this place on star!! When I got my unit I gave them a card number to put the charges on I told them I did not want the card left on file and I did not want auto pay he said no worries we won't. The second months rent came due and they charged that card, I should have disputed it but I didn't. I contacted them and told them that I did not give them permission to auto pay or hold my card on file, they said ok. Third month same, they charged the card again, so I had to cancel the card. Then they up the rent after two months with not notice. This is a sleaze bag place with sleazy workers, I never could pay online or by check due to them lying to me from the beginning so I always have to get a Money order to make sure they aren't saving my information somewhere. They never return a voicemail, they don't respond to emails, they are LIARS. There facility is crammed in a small area with no parking, they charge 14.99 for insurance for their crappy storage units. I will never use My place Storage or anything affiliated with My place ever again, and have already made sure my friends don't store there stuff there. This is based on the My Place storage in Apache Jct AZ
The policies at Rightspace regarding…
The policies at Rightspace regarding missed or late payments are predatory. Charging absorbent late fees, lien fees, lock cutting fees, pre lien notice fees further contribute to the hardship a tenant faces. Selling a tenants property should only be used as a last resort. Especially considering a large percentage of auctioned units contain mostly personal items that are of little to no value to anyone other than the tenant. A unit consisting of pictures, clothes, documents and personal keepsakes having only sentimental value should never be considered for auction for multiple reasons. #1 being the sale of that unit doesn't compensate for the loss the Storage company incurs nor the loss the defaulted tenants experiences #2 Often times the person buying the unit suffers a loss after paying the auction cost, the fees charged by the online auction host, cost of removing and transporting the contents of the unit gas/uhaul fees only to find there isn't anything of value only a bunch of pictures and dirty clothes ect ect. So the buyer of the unit is then faced with trashing the items which doesn't always happen lawfully. Selling private family photos and legal documents containing personally identifying information should be a crime. This opens the door for identity theft and compounds the hardship the former tenants already faces. Then there is the detrimental affect the actual owner of the property experiences, for some people the harm lasts a lifetime. Losing all of your family photos is hard enough but not being able to know what your Grandmother or Grandfather or anyone else in your family looked like because your the generation that didn't get to inherit the family pictures because your parent lost them to an unnecessary storage auction. In this scenario an auction that not only failed to compensate the storage company for the amount of the defaulted but ended up destroying the former tenants life because the winning bidder dumped all the pictures and documents with personal information on them in a field so not only did the former tenants lose the only pictures they had of their deceased family members but they had their identity stolen and as a result of not having the documents they needed they literally lost everything ending up on the streets with destroyed credit which immediately spiraled into the absolute worst possible thing happening that could have ever happened in this persons life ALL FOR WHAT!! Stop doing this **** to people. I had a payment arrangement! I came in with the first payment and was turned away. Why couldn't you people have at the very ******* least asked the *** buyer of my unit to leave the damn pictures I would have came and got them immediately. What kind of *** couldn't take a whole 3 minutes out of their life to ask a simple question It wouldn't have put you out to save a few boxes of pictures for someone whom just lost everything... their entire family history every memory of their loved ones. The devastation this despicable practice caused me will never be forgotten. Rightspace storage will ALWAYS be tainted with bad reviews. As for the specific people responsible for this don't ever feel sorry for yourself or wonder why something bad happened to you because you absolutely deserve any misfortune that ever comes your way.
Shameful and unprofessional
So I just spent the last two days moving my friend out of her unit because she was given 2 days to vacate her unit but WASN’T GIVEN AN EXACT REASON WHY. She should have been given 7 days. But instead was given 2 DURING A NATION WIDE EXTREME STORM mind you. It was FREEZING. She had just paid her storage but was told they might not return her money for the 28 days she won’t be occupying the unit. That is ridiculous. The manager at the Pan American location is highly unprofessional and unreasonable. Shameful employee.
At move in my rate was $130
At move in my rate was $130. About 3 months later it was raised to $165. I thought maybe I had gotten a special move in rate, though no one mentioned anything like that. With one month left in the year I was informed rent would increase to $210. So two rent rises in under one year, an increase over 50%. Obviously I moved out.

Sold all pictures and documents…
Sold all pictures and documents including historical records for my entire family. For what. I had the money. I had a job. I had a payment arrangement. I came in with the agreed upon amount. Now my children and grand children will never know what their grandparents or great grand parents or great great Gone. All of it for what!!!! They refused my money. From what I was told they didnt receive even the amount of my first agreed on payment arrangement at the auction. Which they lied about the date. Just no **** reason for it. Unnacceptable.

I’ve only been there two months at this and now they’re raising my rate $30 a month. I had a larger space that they gouge me to $330 and I moved to a smaller space. It’s a rip off. Bad customer service. Going from 140 to 170 is pathetic. They scam you
Doors on north-facing units at facility are iced shut, no remediation.
I have two outside-facing units in the Rite Space Storage facility on Caldwell Drive in Amherst, New Hampshire. On Tuesday the 28th, I went there to drop off some items in my unit, #347. Discovered that all of the units on the north (back) side of building are sealed shut by a mass of ice along the bottom of the doors. The ice extended on to the access road was so slick on the access road that I could not approach the unit door safely. I went to the office and told the man on duty about the problem and asked what he could do about it. He said that because that side of the building was shaded by trees, the ice didn't melt. Made reference to possibly putting some salt down later. I phoned him today (the 30th) and asked if the ice had been removed. He said he had been trying to use salt but could not keep up with refreezing This is unacceptable. RightSpace Storage needs to send a crew to clear out the ice...one person cannot do it, since it affects at least 20-30 units. Very unhappy with lack of remediation

Mice destroyed half of my stuff. Management was very rude when I notified them they had a rodent problem.
DO NOT RENT FROM RIGHTSPACE STORAGE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RAPED FINANCIALLY BY THEM!
This is the shadiest business I have ever dealt with. They do not know what end is up from month to month. They have had so many new managers than I can count in the 5 years I have been with them.
In 2023 they have sent me 4 rate increases with the last being 19.11%. My bill has increased by over 100%. They offer the exact same unit I have to new customers at a substantially lower rate than I am paying. Their rates are much higher than their competitors. I refuse to give them anymore of my money. I am taking my business elsewhere.
Terrible!
I rented over the phone, from out of state, and when I got to the unit, after hours, I found the "walk-in" unit was really eight or so inches up from ground level, so I couldn't slide anything in. Plus, you have to step on the door handle to release the pressure before it'll open, but I was too short to step on it because I had to step on the little edge of the unit that stuck out from under the door, which it was eight inches up off the ground, and there was nothing to hold on to. I was only able to unload the truck because the moving guys had no problem, but I had to get someone to let me in every single time I went to my unit after that. They offered to rent me another unit, but of course I'd have to pay rehire the guys and move everything, which was obviously no good. They also plowed snow up in front of my unit, which was on the end. When I complained, I was told - you're lucky we didn't have any bad storms this year! Do NOT recommend.
Omg! Really?
Omg!
What a mistake this was!
Ok, so they low balled the price to get you in, then continuously raised the storage rent 3x's over a year's time.
The buliding is very old.....a new paint job helps....but "that old creepy, spooky feeling of "not being alone....keeps you moving to hurry up and get out"!
The a/c unit was old....but guess when they decided to replace it.................."THE SUMMER TIME"!
So for TWO MONTHS................NO A/C. No discount for the inconvenience EITHER!
There will be another occurrence of no a/c NEXT SUMMER too.
Also the office staff screws with you about......"leaving a trail of glitter all the way from the storage to the car".
Really? The glitter container was no bigger than my pinky finger...and most of that went on the flower arrangement that I had created.....hmmmm.
Another money ruse?
They are sneaky too. The sensor lights was set only for 1 min along my storage area....why. Idk. Oh, after you (the manager) wanted to charge me $75.00 for the glitter and I protested... ok.!
PLEASE BELIEVE ME!
YOU CAN DO MUCH BETTER.....DO NOT RENT HERE....EVER!!!!
Since day one when Rightspace took over…
Since day one when Rightspace took over my storage I have noticed how little this company cares for not only the customers but the employees too. They fired the wonderful head of security and property manager. They shut down the restrooms so no one can use the facilities except when the office is open and you must show ID. The office is rarely open and for people like me with no car the closest restroom is about 45 min away which has led to me being hospitalized twice for kidney issues. This company will allow anyone with money to move their stuff in, never mind the fact that some of these people seem to only be there to listen in on conversations and stalk people as they move their belongings. I also won a storage auction which one day when I went to grab another load of stuff I had to stop and start redoing all my hard work because the unit was trashed and the next day they put a red lock on it. Then they re auctioned it without letting me know. The property manager avoided me for more than a month and one day i decided to put my lock on the unit so i could get the re4st of my things out. The next day they had cut the locks and everything was sent to a junk removal company. Yeah, what a joke. Most corrupt people I've ever dealt with. Oh and the new lease says we cant write anything bad about them anywhere or they will sue for slander. Hate to tell them its only slander if it isn't true.... Wait there's more.... Fines for being there after the gate closes, fine for trash outside unit including dust, does not follow ADA protocol with a way off the property for anyone in a wheelchair, gates always broken, prices are skyrocketing higher and higher, no security there, and they might or might not be using the ac in temp controlled units. There are also possible rodents, i keep finding my clothes with chewed up elbows and armpits. Also if you have more than one unit and don't pay rent on one, they will lock you out of both units and take them both to sell at auction. Corrupt, corrupt, corrupt! I think thats it now..,. Ill add more if i can remember anything else.
They will raise your rate until you can't stand it!
They have raised my rate by more than 100% in the three years since they bought the facility and just this month raised my rate by $75. They now charge 2.5 times what the competition charges. I believe they just keep putting up the rates until you can find time come and move out or else you default. There is no limit on what they can charge, and, believe me, they will.
If it was possible to give a -10
If it was possible to give a -10, I would. I have 32 foot motorhome in a paid parking spot. There are security cameras pointed at the motorhomes. The catalytic converter and about 3 feet of exhaust pipe, were sawed out of my motorhome and nobody noticed, either in person or on security footage. Obviously they don't even look.
