Rude manager. Took pleasure in saying I dont need to give u my name when I wanted to complain. RI should tell them they must their staff ID number or they will continue to enjoy abusing customers like this smirking male manager did I encountered at Braehead shop! Horrific experience in RI.

Hi I placed an order on 16/9/25 and returned two tops as they did not fit.Its now 6/10/25 and I can't get any answer back from customer service.
Very poor service

sent an item back that was too big, never even tried it on as I could tell it was massive
returns said it had been worn and a button missing, it was not like this when I return, they said the label had been re attached, I have no clue how that is even possible

this is not true and they will not refund, I am so disappoint as I order a lot of stuff from them and hardly ever return, this will now make me think twice about ordering from them again, they just make stuff up

Placed 4 orders with next day delivery,3 have been late with no notification .
Customer service couldn’t care less the courier will deliver but I can’t tell you when or which day !

What an absolute pleasure to shop in River Island Walthemstow and Wood Green.The ladies working in both those shops were so kind and accommodating.Nothing was too much trouble.They helped me shop and gave me great advice as I needed clothes for a very important occasion.They honestly made me feel very welcome constantly helped me with sizes and matching colours.
It was so pleasurable to enjoy shopping for a wedding instead of feeling overwhelmed.
Thankyou ladies in Walthemstow and Wood Green.
Shopping at River Island was definitely the best decision.

I returned a product that can with wrong sizing (they sent me a larger size than the one I ordered). They gave a return label and I sent it back already more than a month ago via DHL. I got in touch with River several time asking why I have not received the refund in spite the status of the return has processed. They told me I need a received from DHL in order to received the refund in spite River has sent the an email saying that they received my parcel. DHL do not give receipt when it is a return and now River does not want to refund me my money!!!! This is a totally scam

I purchased a purse which is not fit for purpose you can only put about 2 coins in it where the cards go the popper on it Will not close even if i put one card in it has anyone else had problems with purses purchased from them

Dreadful company and experience.
Ordered 4 bags on line and paid.
Confirmation of order but no order sent, no explanation, no answer to my 2 enquiries. Shocking and unacceptable

29 sept ordered at the store 2 items supposed to arrive yesterday or today. the store till assistant wrote my address wrongly despite me insisting that she should write my address correctly instead of 51 she should write my address as it is . 51c. She did not listen and now the royal mail delivery is delaying. and the street number 51 is a shop that opened not before 11 to 12pm midday. i requested a refund and cancellation

So I went into their store in Westfield at the end of July and bought two things. One of them a top which they said I'd have to order online and they'd send it to my home. The top didn't arrive. No attempt by the courier to deliver. When I contacted River Island about it they said they'd already refunded the item onto a gift card! Not onto my debit card which was my method of payment. So turns out they'd opened an account in my name without informing me that they were doing this. No terms and conditions were shown to me or explained to me. Since then, despite telling me I would get a refund to my card as requested, I am now going round in circles with them trying to get them to address my complaint which they aren't doing. I am making a complaint to the Fincancial Services Authority as I feel sure that this is misconduct and I'm very unhappy with their lack of proper response to my complaint.

Whilst I was only purchasing this for a fancy dress it was £20. Poor quality and finishing with threads hanging out in numerous places.

They mistook me for a cashier and expected me to remove the tags and pack my bags myself! Customers pay extortionate prices for quality clothes and service. There is no longer any service at rip-off river island. Boycott, like they are Dull Vainey and Dud Fright.

Placed an order for next day delivery on 15th June, order didn’t get dispatched until 17th and isn’t being delivered now until at least 19th. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Absolutely awful delivery service, no notifications regarding my delivery being late just, incorrect tracking information provided and rubbish customer service who are no help whatsoever and barely apologetic or understanding.

If I could go minus 10 on the rating I would ..
it’s my nieces 1st birthday so I go online and order a bikini (top and bottoms ) and thought I’d do click and collect to make it easier ..

I go collect the bikini and open it up .. and there’s only the top no bottoms … so I email customer service they want me to travel back to the shop and cancel the whole order EVEN THOUGH ITS RIVER ISLAND AT FAULT … get a refund and reorder .. ! I speak to the most Arrogant man on customer service completely useless employee who sounds like a wound up robot telling ‘there’s nothing we can do’ so river island take your money .. send half an item and then expect you to run around and correct their mistakes !
To say this is disgusting a massive clothes line tp treat their customers with such low regard … honestly I will never step foot in your stores again .. so along with the other 1 star reviews .. here’s another one .. maybe one day you might help your customers instead of robbing their money and sending half an outfit !! Ruined my nieces birthday present and do nothing to rectify it

If I could give it zero stars I would! I won’t ever use this company again they are so incompetent. My parcel was due to be delivered yesterday, nothing arrived and apparently according to their system it’s been returned? I swapped a one4all gift card to buy these items and now what am I meant to do ???? They won’t even send a replacement !

I visited Edinburgh fort kinnaird store recently and was very impressed by the choice of clothes and the prices. The clothes are very good quality and fashionable at a very fair price. I love it! The staff are friendly and helpful. I will re-visit.

Never buy online from this company, it was my first order they said twice it was on it’s way then confirmed they had lost it. They had payment for goods on 14th April, it is now 27th and they keep saying refer to pay provider if refund not received. I made the contract with them, they have a duty to ensure this refund is made to me as soon as possible. They keep offering me 15%, I keep telling them I do not want anything but my refund. Tried to email CEO and my email was refused!

I recently used River Island’s Bracknell store and I have to say I was (again) well impressed. I can just take my size off the hanger knowing it will fit because the sizes are consistent. The clothes look great and I think are good VFM. The Sales Assistants are helpful and friendly but not pushy allowing you the space to just take your time. It’s my first port of call now when I need any new clothes.

I bought a gift for my brother for Christmas, it didn't fit so I called in today to change it.. the girl told me (while standing beside the store policy sign saying returns until January 14th) that they don't do returns on Stephens day. Why pick one day that they don't do returns? They went against their own policy??? Now I'm expected to travel back 23klms to change it?? I've never heard such crap in my life. This is way I try to avoid clothes shops at Christmas and I will never shop in this place again.

My wife had her purse stolen while shopping in the Brent Cross branch. We could not believe that River Island did not have any CCT/Security operating in the area where my wife had her purse stolen. Customer Service extremely unhelpful despite numerous letters sent to them.
Certainly won’t be shopping in River Island again.

No response or a single comment from River Island, which is no real surprise!!!
