Aesthetically, amazing. Quality-wise, not so much. My Andreas was durable — after four years of hiking, festivals, and everyday use, it’s still holding up. But the Neal model with Brain Dead fell apar... See more

Amazing sturdy shoe
Amazing sturdy shoe. I like the lightweight of it and the fit. Great design.

Poor quality Roa Lhakpa shoes
Bought a pair of Roa Lhakpa shoes, thinking they looked great and pretty sturdy. Almost immediately the glued fabric panels started to peel on the shoe, and within a few months three of the four pull tabs on the shoe have torn off due to poor quality stitching. Roa's customer service were dismissive, saying noncommittally that they'd pass this information on to their design team. Very unimpressed and would recommend strongly against buying these shoes - it seems from other reviews that the Lhakpa is not the only design affected by these issues.

Excellent footwear.
I have 2 pairs of shoes from ROA, the Andreas Strap Boot in silver/black and the Minaar strap hiking trainers, the Andreas boots are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, I have worn them all day and everyday for the last few months and the comfort and build quality is really good. I’ve only worn the Minaars for a few hours over a couple of days (waiting for the warmer weather in the U.K.) but so far they seem to be holding up well. I would definitely buy more footwear from ROA without hesitation.

I'm writing this review to support Roa…
I'm writing this review to support Roa brand. I own 4 pairs of Roa shoes. 2 of them is Daiquiri model that's no longer in production. Daiquiri is my favorite, it's made like running model, it's very comfortable to walk outside in any bad weather. Next model I own is Neal, it's not so comfortable for me, cause it's made on the other Vibram sole, more for hiking, but the good point is that protector is more grippy, and the sole is higher, it's more like flat and when I walk in cold winter like-10 to -15°C I don't feel much cold. Also I've bought one fancy Roa shoes, sole design was like rain drops or something like this, but after some 3-5 of wearing times, signs of humidity showed inside of the sole, sole rubber was transparent. I connected with an e-store where i bought it, not the official Roa website, described the problem, sent the shoes back, and got my money back. So generally I'm satisfied with Roa shoes, Vibram soles and the great design looks fine and I wear the shoes for 3 season at least, I guess my very first Daiquiri served me 5 seasons. The reason I don't buy the Roa shoes anymore is that the Roa company don't use in production modern technologies like Gore Tex or analogs and Ortholite. After an hours of wearing the shoes my feet feel sweaty, the shoes is not breathing but it's Waterproof no doubt.

ROA Andreas boots
ROA Andreas boots. Worn them about 10 times in dry weather and again the have come apart where the boot creases. Reading the other reviews I am not even going to return them. I live in Western Canada so not dealing with Italy. Will try and see if my amazing cobbler can repair them. Soooo expensive and a huge disappointment. Will not recommend these to anyone.

All style no substance
Bought a pair of Roa Neal's and the material started flaking away after 2 wears in a city. Awful quality, all style no substance

Poor in every aspect
Quality of the products is just below poor. Customer service will not take responsibility for faulty products.
Answer to Roa’s comment:
I wrote you and you didn’t really care. Why would I write again?

I recently ordered a soft shell jacket…
I recently ordered a soft shell jacket directly from the website. The item arrived with numerous small defects. I contacted customer support regarding what could be done and they responded within 2 hours of my initial email. The support team was very friendly and responsive to my requests and was able to offer me a solution to the issue that was acceptable.
I can’t speak for the other reviews regarding the quality of the boots from roa, but I can definitely say their support team is responsive and attentive.
I would definitely say the quality of the zippers and quality control on the jacket is lacking, however the support team is friendly and responsive.
Very poor quality
Very poor quality, especially for how much these shoes cost. I have 3 pairs and all 3 have the same problem. The glue just isn't strong enough where the shoe creases. This results in the rubber toebox separating from the shoe itself after a few wears. Especially the canvas ones, just after a few days they're almost unwearable.
Appalling quality - avoid this brand!
I’ve been buying Roa shoes for many years and recently (the last two or three years) the quality has fallen off a cliff edge. I’ve had to send back one pair of poorly constructed shoes - they lasted a week before parts became unglued and flapped open. I’m about to send back another pair (recently bought but a different model) due to the main material tearing, as well as the now customary ungluing of some parts.
It seems to me that they’re main focus now is on social media influence and a memorable/memeable look, whilst the construction techniques and material choices only enable the shoes (and garments too judging by other people’s reviews) to last for a couple of weeks before coming apart. I can’t begin to imagine how many complaints and requests for returns they are dealing with - maybe that’s why so many reviewers are pointing to being ghosted by customer service.
Shoes should be made to last; if not decades then at least years. And certainly for the prices they’re asking for - which have, of course, gone up and up and up in the years I’ve been buying them.
As I said at the beginning, I’ve experienced Roa shoes before the fall in quality, and they used to be my favourite shoes - I must’ve bought 6 or 7 pairs by now. Whether it’s Covid related economising or just a design team obsessed with branding and not actual shoe/garment construction, or whatever, it’s no excuse to sell products that are of patently shoddy quality. Shoes (especially “hiking” shoes, which is their brand) should be durable and be able to withstand several years of use and abuse.
Shame on you Roa. To any reading this, avoid this brand like the plague.
ROA Andreas boot
I got the Andreas boot from ROA and after a few months of use, the interior of the shoe started to break due to too thin leather lining and bad humidity management. Now there is a massive hole in the heel region, which I've never seen in any hiking boot.
When I reached out to customer service they just ghosted me. Unfortunately they seem to not care about their customers at all. I'd recommend you getting a shoe that lives up to its price tag and whose company takes responsibility for the quality of their product.
No communication, no shoes, no money
I bought two pair of shoes I mid-November. Both pairs came apart on the front shoe after a couple of weeks. I contacted customer service, who after some back and forth, offered to repair both pairs, if I shipped them back. I shipped both pairs on the 8th of December. After no reply or anything, I wrote them on the 29th of December, to get an update. They got back on the 5th of January, that they were still working on the shoes.
I wrote again to get an update on the 18th of January, again on the 23rd of Jan and again on the 25th of Jan. No answer.
At this point I’m being ghosted by the company and I don’t have my shoes or the 612 euros that I paid for the shoes.
Poor quality and customer service
I bought a pair of hiking boots from them which started coming apart after a few weeks. They offered a repair and I sent the boots back for repairs. Unfortunately, since then the communications have stopped and I have no idea what they’re up to. I fear I’ve got to go via Amex to get a refund and scrap this company, always and forever.
Ghosted by Customer Service
I was in contact with one of the customer service agents to help me resolve an issue of a damaged puffer jacket around before Christmas 2022, for a jacket that I've been using for a couple of days only, in average use, no extreme sports or skiing or snowboard or anything that would make the jacket to break. I was told that they would help me and figure out a solution to it since that fabric broke from putting soft gloves in a pocket shouldn't be happening. But I got ghosted and it's now been over 3 weeks since they got back to me, even though i sent multiple follow-up emails. It's really a bummer since i spent over 1000EUR on this jacket, i expected a better service for sure prestigious brand.
