This company is terrible

This company is terrible. They sold their service with a lifetime license on Appsumo. Support was reasonable in terms of response times to start with, but around a month ago, they lost a lot of servers due to what seems like a data breach.

They have not communicated with customers. I actually found out when a client's website wouldn't load and they contacted me. And the cause was on an obscure post on their LinkedIn profile. Since then they have refused to answer support tickets.

Responses from me get automatically closed down when they themselves don't reply back.

Stay away from them if you value your content and time.

Frequently Down Server

I had a horrible experience with Rootpal hosting services and would never recommend them to anyone.

Their customer service was terrible and they were constantly having technical issues. I would frequently have to wait on hold for long periods of time just to speak to someone, and then they would often not be able to help me with my issue.

Server keep getting wiped, Support NONE EXISTENT.

In little over a year the server has had huge downtime. Support is none existent and they literally delete down time history on their status page so that it looks like they never have any incidents.

Even when the status page claims a server is up it is often in a completely wiped state (ie. powered on but effectively none operation)

In the last 3 months they have twice had all their servers wiped. Every time they act like nothing is wrong and support ticket either get deleted or just left unanswered. They also always blame the software developers for these issues.

I mean they blame Plesk, then some other software then Plesk again. That is of course if you actually manage to catch one of their twice yearly blog posts that get deleted not long after, so that few people see them.

I'd strongly recommend that you seriously consider your options before trying Rootpal.

Absolute Trash -- Raging Dumpster Fire on Steroids.

The comments below are my opinion based on my experience with Rootpal.

This has to be the absolute worst ISP in the history of man kind.
The whole experience with RootPal has been an ABSOLUTE DISASTER FROM DAY ONE!!!!!
In the last 2 months Rootpal has had 2 major outages that took all of my sites and email down.
The first outage lasted 12 days and when they finally got the servers back online I was missing almost 3 weeks of email and when I opened a ticket requesting an answer they closed it.
The current outage is going on 7 days with no end in sight. They do not communicate very well, I'm begining to Think this "data centre" is a server under someone's bed.
AVOID this service at all costs. Just my two cents.

The worst hosting of my life.

I have a Cloud storage solution with Rootpal.
Last week the cloud and their website were completely down, with no chance to get in touch with the support, just to find out that all the data have been wiped out.
The customer care isn't responding to tickets, emails and social messages and the information they gave are ridiculous.

Now the "restored" a 3 months old backup with means I lost all my data and files that where archived on the cloud! 3 months of work thrown in the bin.

A cloud storage service should have daily backups. I can't believe they lost my data.

If I can con back I'd never choose rootpal again.

Been Scammed....

It's been 5 days and shared hosting is down... again...

This time no reply. I've even sent a message to the owner Austin. And no reply...

Don't know if they're looking to get rid of everyone, but this is a great way.

Not ethical if you were sold on their lifetime offer (LTD). – only to be taken for a ride.

Or the run a pyramid scheme where they do an LTD to get people to pay for their hosting by selling off what they don't need at scale.....

Ending like this... have business owners lost all levels of integrity?

I think so... given no reply on CS email or support tickets.

Based in America and American's saying people lack integrity and morals today more than ever. Here's a good example....

Irresponsible and unreliable.

It looks like Rootpal doesn't know what they're doing which causes big damanges to people who trusted Rootpal, myself included. I was an early adopter to Rootapal only to find myself being scammed by their unreliable services. One of my worst decisions. I do not recommend Rootpal hosting.

2nd time Rootpal servers are down in 2 months

2nd time Rootpal servers are down in 2 months.
Last time due to issue with server center where they have their rack space.

In contrary to other hosting providers, it is/was not possible to setup to create automatic daily backups ourselves. (login and click to do backups only) External backup cron job failed for some reason.

Latest backups they had, were from 1 month back.

Wondering HOW this is possible with Cloud serving.
First thing to do is Redundancy, thus use at least 3 datacenters to guarantee uptime and and Data-safety... and make sure Backups are stored in three different data center locations. (Daily)

Had some hope, that after last Downtime, Rootpal had understood this, and divided their servers over multiple data centers...

nope...

Worse..., they had removed the fact that their servers had been down (our server for over 1 week) and did not restore this fact even after confronting them.

Full explanation what happened last time, and how they would prevent downtime in the future never came.

In contrary, I am happy we still have our server space at siteground. Great service, automatic backups and server uptime 100% (so far)

Their servers are down again

Their servers are down again! This is the second time in the past two months. When they went down in June, it took them three days to get them back online. Now they've been down for a day, with no update of when they will be back online.

Their communication with their customers is non-existent. If you are looking for web hosting, DO NOT BUY FROM ROOTPAL.

If you have an online business, do not use RootPal. There are plenty of other web hosting companies that offer much better uptime, service, and support.

Server Down twice in past half year.

Server Down twice in past half year.
First server down for few days.
Today server down again and no idea how long will this takes.
I feel sad for the lifetime purchase from Appsumo, not worth if you need a stable hosting.
p.s.: over a month passed, server still down. I am transfer my domains away...(this is my 5rd update)

Rootpal is Dishonest and a Thief!!!

Rootpal is the worst hosting company I’ve ever seen. They go down all the time but have bogus uptime reports on their site showing near perfect uptime. They sold a bunch of lifetime hosting deals but I fully expect them to just shut down and disappear.

EDIT: I have not had any service at all for a full month. They supposedly have several different servers so I created a ticket asking them to setup my account on an operational server. Several days passed and they just closed the ticket with no response. I reopened the ticket and a week passed and they closed the ticket again. I purchased their lifetime deal and Rootpal has literally stolen the money and refused to provide service.

A complete disaster, avoid at all cost!

This company is a complete disaster. All their servers were out for more than a week. My website and my clients websites were down for an estimated 10 days in total. ONE communication was sent out to their customers, just stating they were aware of the issue and working on it (without an ETA for a solution). No decent explanation of what happened, no apology, no lessons learned, no nothing. They are still advertising 99.99% uptime, while we are happy if we get 50%. Complete cash grab with no way to get a refund. I can't use Rootpal for any of my websites and especially not for clients. Utterly useless. Stay away, it will save you a lot of headaches and unhappy clients.

Hosting is down almost every day

Hosting is down almost every day, sometimes for weeks and they make silly excuses.

Nothing Is working! I purchased 2 codes, it's been a year and now they've suspended my account because of the apparent reason that I've purchased a lifetime deal and not going to pay them a recurring amount each year.

these unprofessional bunch of kids are mentioning the reason that my site is redirecting users to phishing links, upon asking to help us remove phishing or provide us access to our sites so that we can remove the alleged links - they are saying "you're using phishing links on your website, which is not allowed and hence your account cannot be reinstated."

Now, someone please tell me which website is 100% hackproof and how can you remove phishing links without having the access to your website??.

Rootpal is duping AppSumo's customers. The service is pathetic, they respond to tickets after at least 15 hours of each request.

Save yourself some money and trouble and buy a decent hosting.
