customer service sucks

The chair was damaged out of the box, and it's literally been like pulling teeth getting a response from the company. Customer service is a joke..... Steer clear of this trainwreck.

What a complete load of crap!

What a complete load of crap. It enhances nothing at all( or to be fair very little).
I do not doubt the quality of the chair. That is excellent. It is very well made. That is all I can say is good about it. Oh, It can spin fast and at times it goes out of control so I was glad to have upgraded to the pro version so the arms hold you in place. Connection is poor and it quite often turns off mid game. And it constantly tries to connect to my Samsung tv which is in another room. Both are rendered useless until one is turned off.
The games you can play are extremely limited as often you want to only turn your head not your whole body. With the Roto VR chair you can only turn your whole body. (I had some success with Assassins Creed until my wife turned on the tv!) The rumble pack("whole body haptics") is a joke. It is just so noisy it ruins any experience you have and honestly you can't really feel it anyway. It seems to activate to music rather than effects (farting gives a much better effect!). Mind you, you can't play for long anyway as the chair is so uncomfortable. I have now dismantled it and shall soon take it to the tip. I can't sell it as I would feel I would be cheating the buyer and I couldn't lie to them saying it was good. I can't give it away for the same reason though at least I wouldn't have taken any money for it.
So, I have wasted over £800 that I could have wasted on lots of other things that actually did something useful. Roto VR you have a long, long way to go before this purchase would be worthwhile.

I contacted RotoVR regarding a problem…

I contacted RotoVR regarding a problem of my own creation, not a design or operation problem, and I had the privilege of communicating with the CEO, Elliott. This is a man who still has his feet firmly on the ground and couldn't do enough to help me out. A credit to the company he has created and one that I am extremely happy to have used. 5 stars just isn't enough.

Absolutely not

Absolutely not. The concept has potential, but this brand fails to deliver. We purchased two units and neither functioned properly. The product quality is poor, and the return, repair, and replacement process was unnecessarily difficult and unhelpful. A promising idea undermined by an unreliable product and ineffective customer support.

Roto vr chair

The build quality is brilliant and materials used are really strong. However my experience has not being good. I bought the £800 package. On opening I found that the motor had being scuffed down to the metal on the underside. I then found that the wheels had been locked and dragged that they were more like they were turning into squares. I had been sent a customer return, is all I can presume. All bags of bolts and cables had been opened. I sent an email straight away. I still built the chair up as I was excited. On finally getting to try it. I linked the head tracker to the chair. All of a sudden the chair started spinning. I panicked and turned the head tracker off the chair was still spinning at full speed. It stopped, then spun the other way. I shouted to my wife that I couldn't stop it, she didn't believe me. Until she did and then started filming me, now I have been put on ticktock. After about two minutes I was unplugged from the mains, we did find it funny. I don't think I had all the manuals sent as I looked online after and found that if you press down on the base it should stop. I used the second head tracker which came with it, it works a little bit but the chair does eventually glitch out. If I press on the base it does a high pitched screech and I still spin and can't stop. I was told at the start of December that a replacement would be sent before Christmas, around the 15th. I messaged again after the 15th and was told I was being passed on to another chap that was dealing with it. But was assured it would come before Christmas. Christmas came and went. My children are upset as we won't let them use it. I messaged about getting a refund but no replies came back. I used PayPal and luckily was covered and they dealt with it. What few tries I have had it was fun and did stop the motion sickness. But once it spins and not able to stop it. I don't think you would be able to get off without injuring yourself or tipping the chair over. I'm sure I'm 1 in a million to be unfortunate but I cannot recommend this chair sorry.

Not Sure What To Say (But I Will anyway)

Elliot, I have scratched up a ‘review’ of sorts and I’m hoping it’s adequate:

‘Dear Elliot and Scott (and ALL in the team!)
Due to yet another breach in the UnprecedentedUnprecedentedHumanFoible Department, I am forced to remonstrate.
In the very colourful and amazing last thirty-four years of (my so-far) fifty-six years I have surely experienced the most enriched years I will ever know…..the years in which I have had the extreme pleasure and privilege to meeting (wow, that initial coup d'il WAS literally a physical blow!), immediately (and mutually) falling deeply in love with who would be (as I emphatically predicted within days) my wife. For reasons not necessary to disclose, we waited a further twenty-five years before we married, and, in that same year(same WEEK in fact), we left Jill’s home country to live in the Scottish Highlands near the sea, where I now live. Alone.
My Cariad passed in September after a protracted battle with what finally took her love and warmth from me, the evil shit that is cancer. Salivary Gland. Very rare and very, very aggressive. My Tootles never once complained and she entrusted me with the responsibility of palliative care at home in her last year, a humbling experience. As in everything, Jill’s courage and humanity and, essentially, love of life instructed how much pressure was taken off my shoulders as to what quality of life she/we enjoyed less endured. In fact, my Cariad was always, right up to the very end, endeavouring to satiate MY needs(!) to the point she purchased a MetaQuest to give me a means of distraction. I probably used it three times in the nine months up to Jill’s passing, not least because it being a solitary activity (I wanted to not be in any way ‘distant’), and the fact that I kept running into the wall. Then, I discovered online the Roto VR Chair. It was a revelation. Although the Meta was gifted to me, actually the chair’s real beneficiaries will be my grandson, and, when they’re a bit older, my granddaughters. To be brutally honest, my sensor was immediately an issue. It was perpetually misreading my movements and making it impossible to use the chair. Terrible, especially due to the immediacy of Christmas. Well, it would be if not for the amazing response from the Roto team, who have all (in particular, Messirs Elliot Myers and Matt Brown) galvanised their already incredibly busy organisation just to cater for my needs. The professionalism and empathy demanded throughout has been astonishing. To have a CEO contact the customer without provocation but, instead, communicate a genuine concern for a customer’s plight BEFORE being in any way aware of my personal, private loss, well, who’d a thunk it! An absolute gem of a man, who couldn’t be more willing to help. Despite the intensity of the workload (a fledgling national/international company trying to compete in its first Christmas push, he had the integrity and presence to contact ME on a Saturday evening and earnestly try to solve the issues I was concerned with with a patience, humility, and humanity which shocked me. As you may realise, my emotions are incredibly raw at this time; well, HOW MUCH free time do/does this/these individual/s have? Bugger all I should imagine!). And yet, for a humble, average man who is experiencing unquestionably the most turbulent and profound era of his (admittedly‘colourful’) life, the Roto VR Team have managed to reinvigorate my trust in humanity at a time when all else is disintegrating around us. There are good people still, and it is vital we know who they are and, if you are going to invest, invest in the them, the Roto VR Team, because they and their product are incredible. Absolutely sincerely, Joseph Andrew Nevin’

I know it’s verbose but it’s true. Kudos to you all my friends!

Great Items but…

It’s a great product and hopefully there will be more accessories available in future. I ordered items on pre-order without knowing how long delivery would be. Took some time but items were still in manufacturing process. Unfortunately the product items are made in china so quality is not the best. Bolt holes not really aligned and screws/bolts typically poor quality (soft not tensile steel of uk supplied bolting) I swapped mine out for proper bolting. Just the engineer in me but unfortunately this is the way many items are supplied nowadays.
