First Experience and Last One
I am using a few subscriptions boxes to test perfume. I chose Royalty Scents as one of those and the interaction has been less than stellar.
I received my first fragrance. This was not a perfume that smelled like something that was not my style or I disliked it. This was something that smelled like it went bad.
I reached out to the customer service. I got a reply fairly quickly with an address inserted with no real direction telling me I could return this, and they would determine at that point how much of a refund I would get thru some subjective means of "how much was used". A cursory search would show I got the perfume for two days but OK. There were no directions as to how to address this package that would be sent back at my own cost. So, I asked. I also asked what the best procedure would be: Either to pause my subscription till this gets solved or cancel and renew. I simply did not want another perfume to be sent or charged till I made sure this first interaction with the company was resolved.
This question was asked five days ago, and I never even received an answer as to whether the address was correct to send things back or who it needed to be addressed to. Did it need an order number? What should I do. I simply sent it back. It was so rank I wanted it out of my house. I guess customer service simply took some time off? I would not know. I will consider that $20 of experience. I will not be repeating that experience.
Before you use this company, I would suggest that you understand that you return product on your own dime. Once they get it back, they will decide if you used too much and if so, you will not get a refund. There will be a restocking fee of 50%. You might get your initial response answered but you are on your own after that. I unfortunately found out later about how bad their customer service was during a search of the company.
Again, I blew $20 bucks on rancid smelling perfume. Use my experience to let you determine if this is the company you want to do business with. There are other companies who offer this service whose communication is much better, and the perfumes have not been horrid. I suggest you use one of them.
Edited to add please note "Dean" the reviewer below. He comes to the site three days after my review is posted and "reviews" this company even though I was the first person to post a review this company on this site in the years they have been open. What a coincidence. He also references my experience in his post. It is an obvious plant from the company itself.
BTW, they have received the return of my product at this point but have not bothered to refund me. I am sure "Dean" got his refund though. Thanks, Dean, for reviewing this company and using my brand new, first review of this company to illustrate JUST HOW WELL your experience went. I am sure it was fantastic. It's great you were able to do this in less than five days since my post went up. Not suspicious at all. Company man you are, right Dean? Dean has one review to his name, for Royalty Scents, three days after I posted my negative review.
If you are seeing red flags with Dean, you should. It's a promotional review aimed to combat what I have stated and I would be surprised if it were allowed to stay. If it does stay, just understand this is the kind of company you will be dealing with.
