What these guys don't know they will find out for you. They have fitted cameras, satnav & wireless into my VW Campervan & always a good job & fairly priced. They take the time to explain things to you. Highly recommend

A review left out of sheer emotion and…

A review left out of sheer emotion and disappointment-

In April 2025 I took the starter motor and altenator to this place after hearing good things. These are old parts, from a classic car, of which both worked perfectly fine before taking off. The engine was out for a rebuild, so this seemed prudent to do given they are both 30 years old. Wanting these both done by people wiser than I with vastly more experience and knowhow, I took them here.

After two weeks passed they were finished, both items were 'refurbished'. So they sat in a box in my house for the next few months until i got around to rebuilding the rest of the car and dropping the engine back in.

Shortened version- February 2026 I come to start the car, nothing.. dead. With a warning light, reading through the workshop manual this light is on when there's a backfeed, diode gone or something generically wrong with the altenator. Then further investigation requires removing the cable that joins the starter motor to the altenator.. car starts, altenator at fault. So not only at this point had they managed to refurb an altenator, they had managed to take a 30 year old, known to be working altenator, and ruin it. So wiyh it being no simple task to get this off, i set about removing everything from the car to get at it. Bumper, radiator, oil cooler, its a right faff. Belts off, altenator, bsck to RS Autosparks.

They said it could be a manner of things, anyway again- the short version. The voltage regulator was at fault and this was replaced and tested after to be working. Charged again for the privilege, fine, thanks.

Re-fitted to the car. Tested with the car running, 14~v great! At least thats done and over.

The car still isnt finished at this point so doesnt move from my garage, I've ran it up to temperature a few times to bleed and check other things over the course of the next few weeks.

This weekend, battery light ON in car, oh dear.. multimeter on the battery 12~v. Suspected altenator again.. turn the car off, go to start it again, nothing. Same fault as before, so multimeter testing everything, terminals, earth. Everything points at the altenator, remove the cable joining it to the circuit via the starter motor again, boom the car starts. Altenator at fault again.

Im unsure what the issue is exactly as, I have employed the experience of these guys, Im no autoelectrician.

Moral of the story for me and anyone else with an altenator from a classic car, from my experience, I wouldn't bring your components here.

Sorry for the harsh, but truthful review.

R S Auto sparks well recommended

I recently used R S Autosparks for my Ford connect van and couldn't be happier with the service. The lads were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and polite and got the job done in just over 2 hours. It was impressive how efficiently and quickly they worked and at a great price.
Highly recommend AutoSparks if you're looking for someone reliable and effective. Great job and thank you!

Kind Regards'

Exemplary Service

Kia Sportage rear window would not go up. Ominious clouds overhead. Took the car to RS Autosparks. John was rammed with work but took the time to get the window up and advise on a more permanent repair. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. No charge. Just blown away. Would give 10 stars out of 5 if I could.

Professional & great prices

After attempting some DIY electrical on my VW T5, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with dings & dongs constantly chiming. I had no speedo or fuel guage and feared it would have to go to main dealer. RS Autosparks were amazing at finding the fault within a few hours and resolving. I can't recommend their faultless professional service enough & would urge anyone else with an electrical fault to bypass any other auto electrician & make an appointment. Thank you again BEN for everything you did for me 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
