Reservation charges (£3500) are not…

Reservation charges (£3500) are not refundable. Even when agreement is cancelled within 24 hours.
No agreements are in writing, nothing is signed until the sale agreement is produced. They will claim they explained everything verbally so it is a, he said I said situation.
Do not trust these people, Make sure everything is in writing before handing over any money.

Boat Brokerage Purchase

Caveat Emptor!
Do not buy a boat from this company unless you first ask for and digest thoroughly their terms of sale. They take large deposits but are not willing to guarantee any work they undertake in order to rectify problems found by the survey. They try to push jobs onto the buyer before the boat has actually even been purchased, when these are jobs which should be the responsibility of the brokerage/vendor prior to sale. They will not give reductions for work which is likely to cost the purchaser considerable amounts in the future and they underestimate what these amounts will be.
Also, do not waste the considerable fee the brokerage charges for lifting the boat for a survey because they do not lift it high enough to check the bottom. This does not even constitute ‘sold as seen’! You could be landing yourself with huge costs later by not checking the whole boat thoroughly everywhere. The whole sales agreement/deposit situation is designed solely to line the pockets of the broker/vendor and there is no protection for the buyer. Don’t get your fingers seriously burnt!
ABNB brokerage would seem to be a much safer bet.
