The machine its self was ok but basic

The machine its self was ok but basic. It is hurt my back and other who used it ,so please be aware. The biggest gripe is the carpets cleaning materials. I bought a 4 lite bottle (suitable for 8 rooms) this didnt even do 1 room. I ended up buying another two 4 lite bottles.

Great product at a reasonable price

The 2 members of the rug doctor staff who I spoke to on the phone were extremely helpful polite and efficient. I picked the carpet cleaner up from Tesco with the shampoo and multi tool. I cleaned the stair carpet which after 4 years of only vacuuming came up like new. I cleaned my living room Axminster carpet which hadn't been cleaned for 15 years. The results are amazing. The shampoo is a little expensive. I would advise to buy the 2 litre bottle as it works out cheaper. Well it did for me. I would highly recommend this company and their products

Awful Experience at Rug Doctor in…

Awful Experience at Rug Doctor in Guildford (inside B&Q)!
The person who received the carpet cleaning machine was rude and abusive since we got there. Aaron is the name and he's far from what we call good customer service.
Because of him I'll not visit B&Q/Rug Doctor in Guildford!

Zero Customer care/ Integrity/ Not to be trusted

I rented a machine from this company and it spit out grimy bio liquid out of the machine getting on my furniture destroying it the smell was horrific couldn't get it out had to repurchase brand new furniture they told me to write out an incident report which I did they told me to take pictures of my brand new couches with the price tag on them I sent them receipts I sent them pictures I did everything I could and then they said they tested the machine that did the damage but that's impossible because I still have the machine because they told me that they would pick it up and never did so I've been trying to get a hold of the lady who decided to deny the claim. It will be writing a better Business bureau review as well and be getting a hold of them because they owe me $4,000 with the damage that was done.

Do Not Rent Rug Doctor

First of all, don't waste your money on the Rug Doctor Pro Portable Detailer & Spot Cleaner. The sprayer is overkill, it's extremely messy, the rotary brush is weak and ineffective and the extraction is next to zero. You might as well use a garden hose, dawn detergent and a bristle brush.
In addition, the rental facility didn't honor the discount coupon and Rug Doctor made no effort to correct the issue. Rug Doctor customer svc states; "In the future when you rent...". There won't be an "in the future".
The last time I rented a Rug Doctor was 20 years ago. It was a carpet cleaner extractor and it worked fair. I eventually bought a carpet shampooer/extractor which actually works. It just doesn't have the upholstery attachments. I suppose that's the next purchase instead of ever using another Rug Doctor rental machine.

Save time and hire a professional instead.

A compete waste of time really and made the carpet worse.
The machine was filthy on collection so spent time cleaning it before use or so I thought as when I started it, it immediately dropped some dirty liquid onto the carpet, it then failed to clean this new stain or the one I hired it to remove.

BROKEN MACHINE

Rented machine. Got home it would not even spray cleaning solution. Even if it had sprayed the solution the vacuum did not work so it would not have picked up the cleaning solution. So , no cleaning solution and no vacuum. Noe much left to complain about.

Filthy carpet cleaner rental

Booked a carpet cleaner rental and returned home with the machine. I then looked at the bottom of it where the brushes are and was sickened by the filth still attached from the previous renters carpets.
These machines are supposed to be cleaned properly prior to returning. Don't think so.
I didn't even use it and returned it to asda. Totally sickened by the whole experience.
Customer services have been emailed enclosing photos of the machine and I have demanded a refund..
Don't bother renting one of these unless you want to lose your money and potentially your stomach contents as well.
Never again.

Terrible Customer Service – Waste of Money!

I strongly advise against using Rug Doctor. The carpet cleaner did absolutely nothing—the stains remained exactly the same. I called customer service to request a refund, explaining that I followed all the instructions, but the product simply didn’t work. The representative told me she was "new" and had to ask her "supervisor" for help, yet I received no assistance whatsoever. Total waste of money and time. Save yourself the hassle and avoid Rug Doctor—they should be called "Trouble Doctor" instead!

Literally not long returned the appalling rug doctor.

Collection from the locker was nice and easy but it's rather cumbersome as quite large so not that easy to put in my car myself.

The machine itself was somewhat dirty underneath, just dirt and hair. The machine didn't work even though I kept trying for about 10/15 mins and also it kept shorting my electric box. Honestly if you've just a couple of rooms to clean get the professionals in.

Very disappointed

Picked this up from Asda bulky heavy machine which I had problems with getting it in my car and then into my house. Machine tank was dirty and the hand tool attachment was absolutely filthy matted hair and grit I had to thoroughly clean both before I even started using the machine. Very difficult to manoeuvre the machine and constantly having to empty the tank and refill the shampoo and water makes the carpet cleaning exhausting and hard work. The instructions on the machin itself are useless and I had to use YouTube on my phone to get information on how to change onto the tool mode to clean my stairs and upholstery. I would never hire this machine again and as it cost nearly £50 for a days hire which includes the shampoo purchased not good value for money. Carpets were cleaner but not a really visible difference after all the hard work I had to do to complete took hours to do 3 rooms and a stair.

I hired a rug doctor from my local B&Q at Tottenham Hale. The first one I got was defective and made short circuited my house. The second one worked but was very filthy. Now my carpets smell terrible. I regret hiring from this company, would not recommend at all.

In the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, both myself and my wife hired a Rug Doctor from our local Waitrose, here in Salisbury. The hire process was straightforward and without any hassle. Before hiring I studied the simplistic instructions that are easily available online to download. We got the machine home and put everything together. Again checking with the installation pdf, everything was attached properly. Filling the tank halfway with warm water and using the correct liquids that we had to purchase, we were soon underway cleaning the carpets.
Now, here is the thing...Our Carpet was so soiled, badly marked and without doubt, i felt was ready for the dump!! How wrong we were.
We worked on our carpet all afternoon and again for two hours this morning. The carpet has come back to its original colour and made it look as though it was nearly new.

The Rug Doctor for us has been without doubt, amazing and we will hire it again to do the rest of the house.
