I have been working with this platform for my undergraduate-level math and I am really happy with the results. The admins are responsive, polite, and very patient as I could not decide on the type of class I was looking for. They changed the syllabus and the schedule multiple times to meet my needs. They have a professional approach regarding the classes, materials, and scheduling. My learning process has been peaceful and with great results. Thank you for this delightful experience!

Please stay away from this platform. We have a couple of tutors and they are overworked and fall asleep during their 1:1 classes. Give a problem and then dose off. Not professional.

Try emailing them at info at Russianmathtutors.com which is the email they use for customer support and it bounces back. Oh, I also tried scheduling a zoom meeting with customer support and guess what happens… no one lets you in and you are kept waiting. This platform needs to be reported to BBB for ripping Americans off.

Someone from Russian Math Tutors called me to let me know that he will pay $100 to remove my review here.

Contrary to what the customer service rep is saying in his response to my review, the tutor was still in assessment mode after 6 hours of classes. Also my son was not challenged with routine problems.

Mrs. Dyo is knowledgeable, patient and kind. My kids love her fun approach and congenial attitude. She is flexible and conveys the lessons in a way that suits each kid. Great experience so far.

I had a really great experience, my tutor was Elina B and she taught me probability and statistics. Maths was always tough for me, but Elina helped even the most difficult topics seem simple and prepared me for my future business studies. She is very clearly well versed in the subject and was always ready to help me with any questions or issues I had, during our classes and outside of them

One of the main features of RussianMathTutors is that it is possible to find world class teachers specialized in tutoring for math contests such as the AMC, AIME, USAMO and IMO on this platform. Many of them are former medal winners at these contests and have first-hand experience.
The staff is very helpful and the platform is extremely well organized. Working with RussianMathTutors is a wonderful experience for both teachers and students.

Garik is a great tutor! He explains complicated concepts well and breaks them down for me so that I can easily understand them and is super patient. I always thought I was bad at math until I started these tutoring classes with him. Now I have a lot more confidence in my abilities.

Highly recommended. A very powerful platform for teachers! A lot of useful instruments and a good level of support as well as teaching resources!

Now that 100% of what we paid has been refunded I am updating my review. At the time of the initial review we didn’t not know whether we would receive the money or not. The $-amount is low, and meaningless. This was a matter of principle, after we had spent so much time finding alternatives for the cancelled lessons, and raising hell to have our money returned.
We went beyond what can be expected of a paying customer to accommodate last minute re-schedulings, and cancellations by the teacher. We have no way to verify whether the teacher‘s cancellations were justified, or not. The apologies provided by the teacher boiled down to the fact that the teacher was not in control of her personal schedule due to other (unforeseen?) obligations that, in her judgement had higher priorities than our scheduled lessons.
This is no fault of the Russian Math Tutors platform. It is a great platform. I love it.
Based on my own experience as an investor I am aware of the „quality control“ issues all internet platforms face that strive to match „buyers and sellers“ and make a commission of services the platform provides to „buyers and sellers“. Implanting better quality control has its challenges and it is expensive.
So what about my rating?
The platform Russian Math Tutors deserves 5 Stars.
Our unfortunate experience with last minute cancellations by a teacher (independent contractor) are basically no fault of the platform. However, Russian Math Tutors could/should have policies in place that prevent last minute cancellations from happening, or to mitigate the negative effects on customer experience.
Even though our first experience with the platform was tainted by cancellations by the teacher I am hopeful that Russian Math Tutors will eventually improve its quality control. Until then, in my opinion a blended 3 star rating (platform 5 stars, teacher 1 star) is justified. I award an additional star to the platform for the efficiency our case was handled, and resolved to our satisfaction. So that adds up to 4 stars over all.

Unreliable, arrogant, dishonest
We had selected a teacher we liked for our daughter.
We funded our wallet with cash, and prepaid for lessons we scheduled. The way the Russian Math Tutors system works is that teachers show online in a calendar when they are available for lessons. Clients select a time slot that works for them. The teacher confirms. At the time of the lesson teacher and student meet online.
Unfortunately our teacher canceled her confirmed lesson three times in a row. Each time briefly before each lesson was scheduled to commence.
We asked the Russian Math Tutors to refund the money. Initially they refused. Then they said they will only refund 80% of what we had paid (for a lot of time wasted, and aggravation incurred). Eventually Russian Math Tutors told us that they had refunded us the money.
So far that has been proven not to be true - a lie!
Based on our experience this is a money grab, some would call it stealing.
You pay for lessons, the lessons are canceled, and they keep the money.

Luka macharashvili is by far one of the most interesting teachers i have ever met. Frankly, his explanation is always comprehensive and passionate, but one of the most important things about him is that he is extremely friendly and amiable person who is willing to help anyone to grasp the main idea of a problem. I strongly believe that working with him is an unsurpassable experience.

Luka Macharashvili is my teacher. He has been tutoring me for over a year and has turned my level from average to very high. I used to struggle with basic math, but with Luka's help and enthusiastic teaching my grades improved. I also started partaking in Olympiads and getting great results all thanks to Luka.

Saba is hands down the coolest math teacher ever! He somehow makes math feel like an adventure rather than a hard subject. His explanations are crystal clear, and he's always ready to help when I'm stuck on a problem. Thanks to him, I went from barely surviving in math to acing my tests.

I first met Saba when I was struggling with calculus classes at my University. After first introductory lesson, Saba made a personalized plan of lessons for me. We did everything on time before my exam and I was very impressed with how he was able to explain seemingly difficult topics with a simple and understandable language. I would recommend him without a doubt.

I, originally, signed up my nephew for Russian Math and he had such a great experience with her tutoring style that I felt motivated to sign him up for General Science as well. Shabna is having a great impact in his educational development, and I am very grateful for her patience and for keeping my nephew engage in different subjects. I highly recommend her as a tutor.
