Took my money, lied about shipping time, promised refund and didn't

I purchased a mess dress complete uniform. They claimed everything was in stock and would ship in 3 business days. Two weeks later they claimed they sent a few pieces. Tracking showed it was delivered but it was not. They offered no assistance. I told them to cancel the rest of the order and they acknowledged 2 weeks ago. They refunded me $15 of $840 and now ignore my phone calls and emails....a

Ordered in Oct 2024

Ordered in Oct 2024. Was told suits would arrive in 3 weeks. Once they didn’t arrive all contact was broken off. Such a scam. Out $353 after so many others said it was a success for them.

Such a sad business

Sadly, this is truly a scam. Sad because they’re doing this to veterans under the guise of doing “the right thing”. It’s also sad because it has so much potential to be something really awesome for veterans.

I don’t write reviews, but this experience was such a disaster that it would be heartbreaking to see anyone else have to suffer the same losses. I would implore anyone and everyone to stay far away.

It’s also evident that they’re beginning to attempt to clean up the internet. When I first looked them up, the reviews about them were awful and numerous, but the sales guy was very smooth; excellent at gaining trust, so I gave it a try. It was a mistake. It’s been 7 months and I can’t get ahold of anyone. For the amount of money I paid, the sales guy gave me his personal number and ensured me he would take care of my order personally.

Now, if he does respond, he treats people like they’re disposable commodities, pure garbage. It’s very strange considering he’s ruining his own personal brand with people he could have had as lifelong customers— it’s simply not how you do business and not how you engender people to your side.

He’s clearly harming his health by stealing money from others in this way. As for you, take this as a blessing and a warning and stay away— you’ve been told.

Do NOT trust Alex "Arod" Rodriguez.

Do NOT trust Alex "Arod" Rodriguez.
I purchased the Executive Collection from him on September 13th for $429. He sent ONE ridiculously wrong-sized suit for "fitting." I took pictures and returned the suit and never heard from him again. After filing complaints with Venmo, he contacted me saying he had sold the business and discovered that many other customers were being scammed. He promised he would fix it all out of the goodness of his heart along with two "trusted" colleagues. I responded, that I wanted a full refund. He replied "Good Luck."

DO NOT GIVE THIS SCAMMER MORE MONEY.

All of google search results promoting Salute2Suit should take down their glowing reviews. Alex "Arod" Rodriquez is an abosute SCAMMER preying on Veterans.

Salute2Suit Terrible Customer Service

I have not heard from any salute2suit rep since our phone call at the beginning of September. Once again this company has lied and refused to fulfill my order dating a year ago. The sales rep mentioned I would have the order at my door step but the end of September 2024. Well I have no order and it's the end of October 2024.

First off they all promised to fulfill my order by December 2023. I was ignored until I checked in the status in June 2024. They have not fulfilled my refund of $1k as promised by Arod. Next, the business is under new management and makes all of these promises they don't fulfill. At least have the common curtsey to provide updates but they can't even fathom to do so. What kind of business are they building where you can't even satisfy your customer?

Stay away please do not use this business. They’re scamming service members.

Don't do it!

I have no suit and they still have my money. I was told I would receive a refund because they were no longer making women's suits. It's been 11 months since my initial order and still nothing. Every time I reach out, they tell me my refund will process at the beginning of the month, no at the end of the month, no next month... I have filed complaints with the BBB, FTC IC3, even wrote a Las Vegas news station. But apparently scamming vets isn't news worthy. Save your money and the aggravation of trying to get your money back. Garbage people, garbage company, garbage ethics.

Do not support this business

Do not support this business. No receipts, no refunds, payments are made by Cashapp/ Venmo, and no emails.

Arod(the Owner) called me and I ordered 3 suits with the Hero Deal for $393 on cashapp, one black, one navy, and one tan suit. Received black and navy suit first, was owed a tan suit. Missing suit finally came in and it was a grey suit, instead of the tan suit I ordered. Messaged Arod and customer service, they insisted that it was sand tan, I sent them a picture of the grey suit and a google image of sand tan, then they backpedaled and said they made a mistake, the tan suit I ordered was actually part of the Gold/Platinum collection.

They said they would exchange it, I asked if they will provide a return label or will I have my shipping cost refunded. They said that they will not be covering either of those and that the exchange is an upcharge that they would cover. I told them I am not willing to spend another $17 over the $393 I paid to exchange a suit that they told me was available.

Arod called me initially professional but quickly hostile. He kept calling me buddy and kept cutting off my sentences and would talk about his service in the military and his experience as a business owner. He said that it is unfair to the business that they would have to pay shipping 3 times if they covered the return, which I told him how is it fair to the customer if they are the one that made the mistake and the suit I received was not the one I ordered. He did not acknowledge the fact that he made a mistake of letting me know the tan suit that I ordered is not covered under the hero deal, or that the suit I received was grey instead of tan, and that they won't be covering the exchange for the correct suit.

He then told me that he will refund my shipping costs if I return the suit in a medium flat rate box and write a note with the information on why it is returned. I asked him if he would send what he just told me in a text or email so I have it in black and white in case he would come back and say he never said it, and he refused. It was clear to me what would have happened if I returned the suit without proof of what he said.

Shining Example of Poor Customer Service

I purchased the Gold package on 15 May 2023 and paid $1249.00 via Venmo, a week later they ran a Hero Deal that included a 1ea suit, sports coat, slack, shirt, tie, and a pocket square. I posted on LinkedIn that I wish I had waited to order so I could have gotten the hero deal but was happy with what I ordered. I was contacted by Arod personally saying they would honor the deal. Great news all around! Fast forward and after I returned from a month-long business trip I had one box of items show up for an initial fitting. I'm finally able to set up my fitting with Arod, weeks later. I get that done and send the items back (remind you there is no packing/inventory list). Weeks go by and after numerous texts, I finally get a large package but upon inspecting and trying to inventory the contents (no packing list) it's missing items and has items I didn't order. I text customer service and get told the tailor is behind but I will get my items. After a week I called no response, I texted and then days later I got a response that the business had transitioned owners and it was affecting the business. I explained that I had an extra suit and a pair of slacks. I'm told to keep them for my inconvenience. I take the items to the tailor per their instructions to get them fixed. I sent S2S the bill per their rules on 1 August and was informed it takes 7-10 business days for a refund. Well, you guessed it, that day passed, and no refund. I texted them again and am now told it is paid monthly so I will get a refund for 199.02 on 1 Sept. I waited a week after that day, texted customer service and then called..nothing just ghosted. After filing a BBB complaint I got my refund for tailoring. Meanwhile, I'm still out two sports coats and a tailoring bill for almost $200. I have called, customer service and Arod who says he will take care of it "personally" on 13 Sep but the same results...nothing. Another month goes by and nothing. I emailed customer service and was informed they couldn't get my sports jackets due to shipping, supply constraints, etc. So eventually I was refunded $200 for those 2 sports jackets. What a hassle for a few suits.

BUYER BEWARE

This reviews is about more than just me. It is about other Veterans as well. Please be careful of the business "Salute2Suit". They are ripping off Veterans and we're not the only ones. We paid $549 dollars for three suits for my husband. We were offered a "custom fitting" and the promise of return of money, if we didn't like the suits. We were also promised a refund on the shipping. The suits arrived and they were a HORRIBLE fit. My husband couldn't even fit in the jacket or the pants. So they sent out a second round of clothes and they too were a HORRIBLE fit. The fabric was cheap and the colors really were too loud for his personality. We sent both clothes back (and we have the receipt and whom received the packages on their end). Alex Sr. said he'd get us a refund. My husband kept trying with Alex Sr. who told us that he'd take care of it. We were then informed that the business was passed to Alex Jr. Okay, fine. In June, we were told to wait til July, they've already processed refunds for the month. We waited. Nothing happened. They promised our refund would be processed in August. We waited, and we were told "we fell through the cracks" and they told us we'd be paid by the beginning of September. That's come and gone and nothing has been done about the refunds. They've now stopped responding to my husband's text. My husband had been promoting their posts and prior to this experience, referring them to friends. This is a tragedy.

Here are some red flags I should have caught (but didn't):

1. They wanted to be paid by Venmo, Zelle, or Cashapp.

2. They would only take debit cards.

I trusted MY account to these people. I trusted what they said. I trusted Veterans (as I have ALL my life as a military brat turned military spouse), and they've done me wrong. I'm not the only one as you can see on TrustPilot. The one good review was from when Alex Sr. was running the business.

**If Salute 2 Suit refunds me, I'll post an update. Thus far, nothing.

Stay Away from this Business!!

Run!! Don't ever shop here, if I could I'd give them a 0 star rating. I made the mistake of purchasing the Gold Collection. Yes, Alex the owner sold me on how nice of a collection it was and all the great things I would be getting in return. I trusted him and the company because it was also recommended to me while I was transitioning out of the military by the Army Transition Assistant Program (TAP.) It was a little fishy when he asked me to pay via Cashapp, but for whatever reason I went with it. He then sent me my first suit after 4 or 5 months, and I called him directly for "Measurements." The technics he highly speaks about perfecting over his years of experience are a lie. He is funny and a good talker I will give him that but no expert in measuring/tailoring or running a business. 2 or 3 months later I received my second suit the one that was supposed to be "95% in the ballpark" the suit was completely off. It was so bad I had to send him one of my suits so that he could get the measurements of my own suit. 6 months later after me asking him weekly when I would receive my suits and everything I was promised Salute2Suit sent me my package. When I opened the package it was complete chaos everything seemed like it had just been thrown in the box and shipped out. Not only that but half of the merchandise that I purchased was missing. I contacted Alex directly and talked to him about it and his excuse was "That his son had taken over the company, that a lot of new veterans had been hired, and that he had very little to do with the business but that he would personally take care of it." I told him that this was completely unacceptable and that I wanted a refund for the items I did not receive. I did not ask for a refund on everything just the items I did not receive. 6 months later and I am still waiting on my refund. I've been contacting Alex almost daily and he is just ignoring my messages/calls. Please stay away from this business it is ran by thieves who prey on transitioning service members/veterans who don't know better. I will also reach out to my installation TAP class and let them know that this business is a complete fraud and they should not be promoting it to transitioning service members. Please do our service members and veterans a service and call your installation TAP class and report this company to them so that they stop promoting this fraud of a company.

Run, don’t walk

Wow where do I even begin? I was hesitant because he asked me to pay over CashApp. I think it’s because they had a record of unhappy customers filing for chargebacks with their credit card companies; first red flag. Don’t get me wrong, the owner is pretty funny and I couldn’t help but laugh at his jokes. I just wish I wasn’t laughing at how awful the suits looked.

Then the owner acts like his suits are God’s gift to earth and that his brands match up to other Italian luxury brands. Sure they’re handmade (in China by little children), but they’re a terrible fit. Remember the how NBA players wore suits in the early 2000’s and liked to make it look all boxy and square? That’s what you’re getting.

Great for transitioning veterans if you’re looking to work in the IRS and need a frumpy suit! Highly recommend for all future IRS agents.

Made in China for America's Heroes

Should have read reviews on Reddit and Better Business Bureau before "donating" my money to this scam. Customer service is non-existent. The owner is an egotistical maniac who refuses to refund if something goes wrong...which it will. Good luck getting your money back. My claim with BBB is pending because the owner refuses to settle.

Not perfect, but really good for the price

Salute2Suit is only available to active duty military and veterans (i.e., former military), "to empower and educate them through their wardrobe." What this means is, it was created by a successful tailor who himself is a veteran, to offer high quality, custom-tailored suits to people leaving the military, knowing that we (veterans) are usually woefully short on civilian business attire as we transition out.

I'm writing this review on Trustpilot to let any other vets out there who are considering Salute2Suit know that they are a legit company and they really do provide what they say they will. Does that mean I had doubts? Yes, but I'm exceptionally paranoid about online purchases, especially from relatively obscure companies, because I've been the victim of fraud a few times -- and that's with me considering myself pretty savvy (but I guess the frauds prove me wrong there...).

The way the process works is, you will select your Preferred Collection (the package you want, which is priced according to the number of items you're getting), choose your suit and dress shirt colors, set an appointment date and time, meet online with your personal suit advisor (if you choose the gold collection or higher, your advisor will be the owner of the company personally) during which you'll pick materials and talk sizing, and then you will receive a single suit to try on in a video call with your suit advisor. If it's already perfect -- and this guy has been in the suit business for decades, he got my suit almost spot on except for the inseam from the first call -- then they will go ahead with the rest of your items and they will be shipped in about 21 working days. If you need adjustments, he'll ask you to go to a local tailor, get measured and tailored (he'll pay for the tailoring if you want) and send him the measurements and he'll make the rest of your items accordingly.

I left out an important step, which is after your initial appointment with your advisor, you'll be asked to pay everything up front using CashApp, and that was one of the things that made me nervous. But I'm happy to say everything was on the level. My suits all came out very nice. The chosen material -- which is a synthetic material that's basically a microfiber, so as soft as silk -- is way nicer than I expected, and the fit is perfect as you'd expect from a custom suit. You can look at the packages on their site and see for yourself that the prices are REALLY good for the number of items you're getting, without even taking into account the suits are custom-made.

I would be remiss, though, if I didn't mention the small negatives, so here they are, and none of them were enough to knock a star off my rating, though perhaps some folks would have taken off at least one:

1. Pretty slow to ship. It took me around 50+ days from the first appointment call to get my full order. I did receive apologetic texts from them for the delay. The clothes are manufactured in China, and there are always potential delays when shipping from there, even worst post-COVID.

2. The shirts are not tailored, just the coats and pants. Hey, for this price, you can't have everything. The advisor will, however, want to see you wearing the sample shirt during the video call to make sure it fits well. I took mine to get the sleeves shortened locally. My neck is thicker than my arms are long.

3. My order was only outright missing one item: a belt. I texted them and they responded the next day with an apology that belts were back-ordered and they will ship me one ASAP. Not bad considering I got 4 suits, 6 shirts, 6 ties with pocket squares, and 3 pairs of socks, only missing the belt, and it will be sent eventually.

4. Lastly, and these two are puzzling, I said above I got four suits and I did. Only thing is, my package was only supposed to be THREE suits and one sport coat & slacks combo. If I was hard over about that, it would definitely knock off a star, but truth is I don't need another sport coat and was actually happy to get a fourth suit. And I did hold them all up for my wife to confirm they are suits and I wasn't mistaking a sport coat and slacks for a suit. It's four suits. Odd, but OK with me. And then two of my six shirts are the same color and both are one size larger than the other four. I would have texted them to complain about that, but the bigger ones fit me really well, so...

In summary, if you're a transitioning vet who has discovered that, like most of us, you have a serious lack of civilian business clothes, check these guys out. They are legit, great value for the money, and the clothes are very nice. Only warning is to order a month or more before you're going to need the suits, because the process does take a bit of time. For me, it was about a month and a half from first appointment to final delivery (minus the belt).
