We stayed here during a trip to the…

We stayed here during a trip to the Dominican republic where I was planning to propose to my girlfriend.

At first they were incredibly unresponsive and unhelpful through emails. They promised they made bookings with the spa etc. But when I actually called them, they told me no such bookings were made...

I also booked their romantic dinner package for $300, with what looked like a beautiful decoration on a wide beach in front of the hotel in the pictures for the day of the proposal.

I asked them specifically to only do the special decoration if it wouldn't be raining, which they said was okay. I figured worst case the decoration I booked had a kind of "roof" to it, so if it was raining just a little it wouldn't be too bad.

When we go there. The hotel beach on the photos... Did not exist. There was a tiny, stretch of sand. The decoration they set up looked cheap and tacky, with no roof. NOTHING like the one I had ordered which looked romantic, w/ candle-lights, strings hanging down etc.

The dinner we were served was "okay" at best, and it started raining well before we got the main course... Which fine, they don't control the weather of course. But the fact that the cheap decoration they set up with duct tape (not kidding), had no roofing or anything overhead, meant we couldn't even stay there to eat our dinner.

I talked to the Concierge about this and they apologized profusely promising to correct the mess. Sent them pictures of the decoration that looked nothing like the one I paid almost $1,000 for!

After our vacation I got in contact with the hotel asking for an update on the situation... I have since then sent them several emails and they have just been ignoring me.

Do NOT ever stay at this hotel. Worst resort/hotel. They do not treat their customers well, and you do not get what you pay for.
