If only Support was as good as the content..

This review is solely based on experience with support and methods.

Last year, I was subscribed to SBL and was somewhat happy with the contents and learning. At a certain point I broke my wrist and doctor was planning to take me to surgery. Obviously my downtime would be long so I asked SBL to pause my subscription so I could come back to the content after healing. I was met with a very big no. Pay attention with their guaranteed refunds and "excellent support".

It is a shame that support provided is subpar compared to the quality of the contents. It's because of the quality that I give them two stars. I would give support 0, if I could.

Today I was planning to join a new course from them - Full Stack Bassist - but because of past experiences, I didn't before emailing support. Same person, same type of reply. No catering for client needs.

SBL at Every Level!

SBL offers bass resources and education at every level. I have a master's degree in music and have been in education for 27 years--but I still gain advice to help me get out of ruts in my playing. This has given me practical ways to approach my playing.

SBL's content is comprehensive

SBL's content is comprehensive, and one can find instruction for any aspect of bass musicianship. It is online instruction though, which means the subscriber has to be self-motivated, and become good at developing their own format for structured learning. SBL also offers a great "campus" to interact and friend other bass players. I highly recommend SBL and have been a member for about 7 years now.

SBL for the win!

Long time member here. Everything is great with SBL. Best part of SBL is the always expanding teachers and lessons. You can not beat SBL in price, quality, education and exposure. . . and that's the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so.

Had to come back!

I was a member a few years ago and had to come back! SBL is an amazing academy for anyone that wants to learn the bass. This is an amazing resource for anyone that is serious about learning this instrument. All you need is the discipline to act on it. Scott is amazing professor, and everyone else that SBL brings on is amazing as well. Lessons galore.

Try it you might be a good bass player after all

In my 30s, after a decade of playing bass, I realized I lacked rhythm and feel. Then I discovered Scott's Bass Lessons. Now, in my 40s, I'm a competent bassist playing in a band that's featured on public radio. I'd say that's decent progress.

Been a member for over 10 years

Been a member for over 10 years, since Scott presented from Leeds. It's still great, but god they bombard you with e mails now.

I'm probably missing some decent courses due to ignoring the stuff they send over. 3 or 4 a day trying to flog you stuff. Bring back the Scotts of 2013- 2020

Always a great experience

Always a great experience - new material, great people, knowledgeable instructors/bassists. Even on the rare case that something goes sideways, the support is fast, polite, and effective.
