As a scrawlrbox subscriber of over 5 years now, I honestly have nothing bad to say. The boxes provide good value for money, and push me to try things I might otherwise not have done. On the occasions I have had issues or queries (which is surprisingly infrequently for a hand-packed box of pens and paintbrushes spanning half a decade) the staff gave been polite, kind and very eager to help where they can. When there have been delays or changes to the box or subscription (again, inevitable but surprisingly infrequent given the contents and timespan) these have been communicated well in advance and usually with repeated apologies / offers to make amends. Outside of the main subscription box, I've also bought a number of t-shirts which are high quality cotton and I wear on a regular basis. I've purchased boxes to gift to relatives and friends, and other side ventures such as patches and customisable products; I can't say I've ever had an issue with any of those and they're all holding up wonderfully. Shipping has always been swift and reliable, with the only delays being due to postal strikes (understandable; more power to them) and I've not lost a box in all the time I've been with them. Overall, if you're looking for a high-quality art subscription box - especially if you're in the UK - you're in the right place.

Love this art subscription box. Great supplies that vary each month. In the time I’ve been purchasing boxes they’ve had watercolours pans, sheets and pigments, sets of acrylic marker or alcohol pens, tinted charcoal pans, metallic markers, acrylic paints, colour pencils, and all are good quality brands and well thought out combinations. They include great quality paper, and often other tools like brushes, erasers, masking fluid etc so everything you need is in the box. There are different themes every month which encourage you to try new styles and subjects, and the social media community is massively supportive and friendly. Customer support has always been great for me. Highly recommended.

I've been with Scrawlrbox for a fair few years, and have yet to disappointed by a box. Even ones that I didn't get on with, I could still appreciate the quality and the art pieces that people have produced. While the boxes have been excellent, what I truly take away from this subscription service is the fantastic community that I'm now part of. Chris and Kat have been exceptional and are very involved with customers from start to end. My only negative experience comes from trying new products, falling in love with them, and then buying more! Dastardly antics indeed!

You get a lovelery little letterbox sized box of artist grade suplies that you can create something with and not only that you get original art prints and stickers it's awesome a great gift to yourself or someone else to get creative and put if your usual medium

I have been subscribing to Scrawlrbox for over 2 years. Every month a mystery box comes through your letterbox. The contents are always the best quality, you always get a sweetie, a sticker, a magazine. Then your products, always with paper. There's a monthly prompt/challenge. I've used supplies I'd never buy myself. There's a very active Facebook community and subscription comes with a Discord Channel. Every Saturday a prompt comes out, just for fun. There's daily polls, questions, tutorials, ideas. There's even a messenger 'chit-chat' group. Every month there is a live session on YouTube with games and competitions. There's a ScrawlTober event for a month and lots of Christmas fun. It has been a wonderful experience, I have met lots of new friends. For me it feels a safe space to share my art, I'm not a great artist, but people are always so positive and encouraging. Kat is wonderful, always engages, even on her days off!
There have been postal issues, but this is out of their hands and in the hands of a broken mail system in the UK. Postage to Europe is a Brexit issue.
Someone has posted a review, which was rather mean regarding points. The points system was so generous and for such a small home grown company was overly generous. When the scheme ended, emails were sent, there was a huge discussion on all social media platforms. You could use your points to get no expiry gift vouchers. There has to be a cut off point somewhere.
Support small businesses.
Scrawlr is so much more than just an art box.

Great products every month, always good value and high quality. Brilliant customer service and a wonderful sense of community. I'm a long term subscriber and will continue to get the boxes monthly, its always a joy to open them!

Absolutely love this subscription box! Been subscribed nearly 3 years now, every month is different art supplies, and a new challenge. The work that goes into each box is indescribable. They work so hard to provide us with a community of other artists as well as sharing our art, researching supplies for us, planning the boxes, YouTube lives and so much more. Not to mention that it's become an art safe haven for us all in the community. Most of us subscribers have made friends for life not just art. Always great quality art supplies in each box and if there is ever a problem there are facebook messenger groups, customer services, emails, Instagram and more places to reach out for support and help (or just message each other!). What they have built can't be found in any other art subscription box. Definitely worth giving them a go. Always new things to try, and like with anything that's a mystery, some boxes have not been my go to supplies. But it's worth it for the challenge and to try new things without forking out for the full sets elsewhere.

I've been a subscriber to Scrawlrbox for 6+ years, and they've been my favourite art subscription box to date, by far.

I've dipped my toe in other art subscription services and they don't even come close to the value, customer support, and community that Scrawlrbox offers.

The boxes themselves, even if one or two are not my preferred supplies, still deliver excellent value. I've discovered new art supplies, new ideas, and new artists too!

The community is amazing, and you'll frequently find the Scrawlr team engaging with subscribers on social media. That's a rare gem in a time when companies chuck products out to their customers and never bother actually talking to them. You don't feel like a number when you're subscribed to Scrawlrbox, and I can't highlight that enough.

Communication is also excellent. If there are any important changes to the service coming up, Scrawlrbox will email you, and on top of that, aim to update people in their Discord and social media pages. If a customer occasionally falls through the net and misses something (maybe their morning coffee didn't kick in and they deleted an email), the team is all too happy to respond and explain anything they need to know.

I had an issue with a duplicate box being sent to me on a couple of occasions, and all I needed to do was reach out and we were able to get everything sorted. I didn't get stuck with a chatbot telling me to tick some boxes, or have an automated back and forth. I was able to talk to one of the team, one on one until my issue was resolved.

Again, this is rare with so many companies these days, so Scrawlrbox gets ALL the stars from me!

I love this company. When I have had an issue Lee has always responded quickly.
For a small company they are amazing.
I love the contents every month, it’s like my birthday every time not knowing what I will create with the surprises inside.

I have been a subscriber for over 3 years now and have never had an issue with any orders, subscription boxes or otherwise.

I can see a review from someone saying they were not informed of the points scheme ending. I can confirm that emails were sent, more than once and there was a huge discussion and lots of information within the Scrawlrbox Community on Facebook. I think it's very slanderous to call Chris a liar when he was very truthful. I was able to exchange my points for gift vouchers to use at a later date as I was aware the scheme was ending from those emails.

I have always found the Scrawlrbox team very helpful and given they are a 2 person team, the support is quick and they're always very generous when trying to fix any issues such as missing boxes. There are a lot of issues with Royal Mail in the UK which accounts for a lot of missing mail, including packages, which is not exclusive to Scrawlrbox but does effect them from time to time.

I can not recommend Scrawlrbox enough! The supplies are high quality and each box is curated in such a way as you can make amazing art with just that box. The sales are brilliant and a fab way to try them out if unsure. The added selling point for me is the incredible community on both Facebook and Discord. Everyone supports each other and seeing so much wonderful art is inspiring. Please don't let a couple of poor reviews from people who have either not read things properly, or have had an unfortunate delivery experience, put you off! These are rare occurances given the 100's/1000's of people subscribing every month.

The only reason my rating is 2 stars instead of 1 is that I've had decent experience with Scrawlrbox in the past. I used to purchase separate boxes on sale, the art supplies are of good quality and worth the price when discounted. However, their anti-consumer decisions regarding the "scrawlrpoints" loyalty scheme and blatant lies led to this review.

This was a program meant to award loyal customers with points that could later be exchanged for discounts, ranging mostly from £5 to £15. You could receive points for having a birthday, spending money on their website, or leaving reviews on the products you've bought. Even in the past I've been scammed out of points numerous times and had to reach out to customer support to add the points to my account manually. This was the only "malfunction" on the website that I was aware of, everything else worked great, so I was quite suspicious.

At the beginning of March, I logged into my account on Scrawlrbox and found out that the scrawlrpoints page was erased from the website. I've had 345 points saved up, which would be a £15 discount on any purchase from the store. I reached out to customer support in hopes of receiving my fairly earned discount, but the response from Chris, the company's founder was:

"From February 1st all unused points were removed along with the scheme as mentioned in the email sent out a few weeks before this happened".

I've never received that particular email and I've never had emails from Scrawlrbox be filtered into spam, as Chris eagerly suggested numerous times that this might have been the case. Every single email, including promotional marketing, was received in my regular inbox for as long as I've been a customer.

I later understood what was the real reason I was not informed in advance about the deletion of my fairly earned discount. Quoting from the TOS of Scrawlrbox, "We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part or content thereof) without notice at any time.". So, the company's founder decided to blatantly lie about the email instead of admitting he used the right described in the Scrawlrbox TOS to not inform his loyal customers in advance about the deletion of the scrawlrpoints program and, in effect, all fairly earned discounts.

To quote from our conversation, Chris also wrote this:

"I understand your thoughts on this and maybe for some reason you didn't get the email, it happens but either way we were never obligated to give away points or discounts on our products."

And

"I am not willing to give you further discounts to be removed from the sale price of these boxes, maybe after the sale but you would be better off to get all the discounted boxes now before they sell out."

I would honestly respect the founder if they owned up to their anti-consumer decision to not inform their loyal customers about the deletion of their discounts.

As it stands, the founder is a liar and someone who does not deserve any trust from their customers. I've requested the erasure of my personal data they hold on me and will never support their business again.

The worst customer service I have ever received. We are cancelling. Absolutely awful. Sent out box to the wrong address and refusing to resolve the issue.

I've recieved 4 boxes now (all previous boxes on sale) and the shipping (all the way to Australia) took less than 2 weeks. I was pleasantly surprised. Despite boxes being years old all paints and paint pens were in fine working order. Really happy with the prompt delivery and quality of content. Have ordered my first subscription box so will see if the delivery time is comparable to the sale boxes

I have subscribed for two years and I've ordered several of their sale boxes. They've always arrived on time and whilst I prefer some boxes to others, in all the time I've been with them there's only one box that I could really say that I disliked. I've learnt lots about different types of media that I wouldn't otherwise have used. I always recommend Scrawlrbox to my friends and have bought extra boxes for presents. Great company and the boxes are amazing.

Great company. We have had a sub but have just bought another for my daughter. I don't understand the bad scores here. we have had nothing but a great experience and good customer service. Everything has been perfect for me.

I ordered extra boxes, I have done this before with no issue, however this time I did not receive the products. They advised they sent out a replacement after I provided proof of contacting Royal Mail to chase this up, nothing arrived. They are dodging actually providing the products paid for or refunding and cancelling the subscription. This has been going on for almost 2 months now. Terrible customer service.

Good quality items and worth the cost.

BUT.

Far too many boxes with markers (or similar) in. I ended my subscription in the end as I don't use markers so was paying a lot of money to get the same type of items month on month. I knew that I'd get the odd box that I didn't like (markers) but the number of markers we get is ridiculous.

If you love markers then you'll love ScrawlrBox. If you prefer other art supplies then look elsewhere.

I placed an order in the black Friday sale for 4 past boxes. These were to be Christmas presents. They were shipped on the 1st of December. They had not arrived by the beginning of January so after trying to contact Scrawlrbox by email and website, I finally got a response on Facebook messenger. They said sorry and shipped my stuff again. No sign. When contacted said it was strange that they had been shipped twice and i received none. To me this felt like an accusation. So I contacted An post as I could see the tracking number on my account on their website. To be told that the package didn't conform to customs regs. and would be returned to sender. I forwarded them this as proof that i dont have the boxes. By some weird twist two of the 4 boxes arrived the next day. I contacted Scrawlbox to let them know that 2 boxes had arrived. 2 had not. I asked for a refund for the 2 not received. To be told its their policy to only give a refund once they get their stuff back. I have no control over this, I didn't receive them, why should I pay for them if they are lost in the post. Never again. The boxes that came were nice, but in no way worth this hassle. Surely they should be insured for things going missing. That's not the customers fault.

Placed an order at the beginning of December, had a dispatch notice/tracking number on 6th December quickly followed by an email on 7th December to say it hadn't been dispatched after all and would be delayed due to high demand. That was the last I have heard despite me contacting the company since. It is still showing as not dispatched. I have now requested a refund as I don't think I will ever receive the things I ordered. I wouldn't use them again as they are not reliable and their customer service hasn't been responsive

I had ordered a 6 month package for six boxes and still haven’t received my February one
I had emailed them and they sent another replacement but again I never received it they said they were sorting out international shipping giving excuses then I emailed in June and didn’t get a reply it is now July and am missing my box from February that I paid for it’s not worth it if you are outside of the UK and I am only in Ireland
