Ordered carpet from SCS Kidderminster…

Ordered carpet from SCS Kidderminster end of may. The staff were very helpful and professional.
After waiting nearly 6 weeks for a fitting date. When that day came they cancelled on the day of fitting with no explanation and told me they couldn't fit me in for another 5 weeks. I had emptied my house and taken up old carpet. I wasn't prepared to leave my furniture out for that long.
I cancelled order and went somewhere else

Zero stars for all parts of the service.

I'd give this company 0 stars for customer service and 0 stars for professionalism. The carpet was actually decent quality once fitted but the fitter had missed several obvious areas where the carpet wasn't cut correctly so had to get him back out of his van when he made a break for it, didn't ask me to look over the work before he left so lucky I did have a quick walk round.
The manager at Leeds junction 27 store was more interested in chasing tail than filling out my order properly at the time of ordering in store, this lead to the carpet being delivered but no underlay, they then wanted me to go buy my own so the carpet fitter could fit it for me, so I needed to pay twice, not likely, and they only brought half the carpet as well, absolute joke. Then had to reschedule fitting and book another day off work, I told them I wanted some form of compensation but was told it was not their fault so no chance. I did manage to get in touch with customer services but they were as much help as a chocolate teapot. Last I heard they were still waiting for a reply from head office, that was about 6 months ago.

Carpet colour change

I wish I had read the reviews about the poor quality items before purchasing my carpet from SCS. Only two years and the royal red is turning brown. SCS insist the carpet has no fault and refuse any compensation. There main line of defence is, and I quote, ‘Fading is caused by ultraviolet light, heat, and visible light from the sun; it is accelerated when sunlight shines directly onto carpet. Polypropylene is fade resistant fibre, this does not guarantee against fading’.
So a fade resistant fibre does not guarantee it will not fade! I do not recall the salesman telling me that when purchased.

Do not purchase flooring from here

Horrendous experience when purchasing flooring. Additional costs charged without prior notice and not made clear. Flooring fitted and sealed to an extremely poor standard. Emails replied to but no helpful solutioms given and refund for poor service refused. Will never purchase anything from here again.

What a total disaster!
Flooring laminate unable to be laid! Flooring was warped 2 floor fitters and still a long long process with the manufacturer... SCS I bought a floor from you in goodwill...this floor was unable to be laid ..Refund me oh no!

I would if I could give no stars
I would if I could give no stars - we are currently having to live with a carpet on our halls and stairs that isn’t fitted properly, isn’t attached in numerous places, damage to our wall and paint work! We have been dealing with issues ever since we ordered our carpet back on Oct 2020 (paid in full up front) delays after delays then to have the carpet that isn’t even fitted properly NIGHTMARE - stay clear - use someone else even if more expensive!!!

ross the carpet fitter contractor for scs was a legend arrived early did an excellent job the carpets look lovely he cleared up after himself and even hoovered i would reccomend this man to anyone without him we wouldnt have had our carpets before christmas

One star is far to much! 5 months and still not resolved

One star is far to much!! Absolutely shocking service brought sofa living room carpet and stairs.
Fixed stair carpet down over old carpet, nailed carpet to treads, broke step when dressing carpet to the riser. Carpet is coming away from all treads and now a trip hazard for my young child.5month with emails to the MD David Knight and still not resolved. Spend hours at a time waiting to speak to customer service team and team leaders refuse to speak to you to resolve the problem. Must have been told already 15 times you will be called back tomorrow (never called back). Don’t shop at SCS there service is terrible once they have your money they ain’t interested. Iv been let down so many times and the above review is only a fraction of the full story.. so so poor

Sofa and footstool delivery

It was a quick and easy drop, the delivery guys Steve T and Scott V Basingstoke DC brought in the sofa and stool no problems no fuss, took away the plastic wrapping, took photo as proof of delivery an left. All within 15 minutes. Perfect, what a great team they are to SCS.

Fabulous sales, poor fitter attitudes...

The sales service we received was 10/10 the guy was so helpful and helped us choose our perfect carpet.

Sadly this was then let down by the fitters. They attended nearly an hour after the time they gave us and then dismissed that the carpet would fit before actually unrolling it to see. After arguing with me for 10 minutes first they finally got the carpet out and unrolled it and saw that it was plenty big enough. The excess would even do the hallway section twice more.

This unfortunately has meant a drop from 5 stars.

Farnborough store - great service

We visited the Farnborough store yesterday and Helen looked after us. She was very patient and wasn’t at all pushy which in my book is a great trait for a salesperson.
We ended up purchasing 2 items and when we got home realised the colour we’d chosen wasn’t quite right so got in touch to change the order. Prompt call back service and again Helen sorted everything for us. I would definitely recommend Helen in the Farnborough store to anyone looking for sofas etc.
The sofa we purchased was the most comfortable we’d sat on after weeks of searching.

These people DO NOT deserve not even…

These people DO NOT deserve not even one star. A complete fraud and thieves. Its been over 2 months going into 3. I've been waiting for carpet (still no carpet) so I cancelled my order asked for a refund was told 7 to 10 days to wait for money back in my account. I've sent the head of management an email telling them exactly why I want MY money back. I'm yet to get a reply. I have phoned them nearly everyday still no reply. I'm honestly so sick of it all. Customer service is beyond crap worse than that to be honest. This company needs to be closed down immediately definitely going to take this to court. The amount of stress this is causing me is disgusting. How are they with holding MY money. When I was giving it to them for their s***** service they took it within seconds so WHY am I waiting and being passed from one person to another when it comes to MY money. I never stole the money I never borrowed the money I worked my arss off just so I can have a nice home for my kids. I'm definitely going to sue and others that are experiencing the same should sue also. Get them closed down. So F****** annoyed!!!! Till this day still waiting on my refund.

SCS Fosse Park Leicester - CARPET service

SCS Fosse Park Leicester.
Went in today (7th October 2020) for a carpet. It took 20 minutes for a salesman to provide an estimate from the measurements provided. This was for a stairs and landing yet they quoted for a stairs and bedroom?
I know the square meter size as I had already had a carpet fitter provide this yet SCS gave me a different and larger size.
Prices were ridiculously over priced.
£56 for grippers...these are only about £10.
£15 for insurance if I use their fitter? I questioned this and was advised that they guarantee fitting for a year. Really so why do I need insurance for a product and service they are providing and I am already paying for? This is insurance against their work?
£30 delivery charge.
£75 fitting charge.
£? Extra carpet charge as they had over estimated the area.
I didn't need underlay as the old underlay was in good order. Yet SCS gave me ridiculous rational why I should have new underlay as the old underlay would not fit new grippers????
I would give further info and figures but SCS retained the quote when we said we would think about the prices provided.
In summary POOR service, over selling and extra unnecessary charges.
We went straight to United carpets. They gave me a quote in 1 minute with the correct measurement and I saved over £200.

Couldn’t be happier.

Email previous day. Two calls from Scott and Dean prior to delivery. Very courteous and polite. Put sofa together without issue. Couldn’t be happier.

We booked an appointment at Scs…

We booked an appointment at Scs Gloucester today Sunday 13th September 2020. This our first and very last visit. The sales expert as they are known could not care less if he made a sale or not. He was the most uninterested guy you could ever meet. Free fitting is certainly not free and the price of a bedroom carpet was more like the price of a full carpeted house. There was no discussion of our budget at all. It was take it or leave it.
From the moment we met the sales guy there was no way we were ever going to purchase anything from Scs.

Superb service

Superb service from start to finish. Delivery was delayed due to lock down, but we were kept fully informed throughout. Would highly recommend SCS for anyone planning a new sofa!
