Excellent customer service
Our 4 storey apartment building in Trumpington, Cambridge, built in 2013, is equipped with an SE Controls controller, for which our previous property management "lost" the keys for opening/closing the roof hatch. After sending an email to SE controls UK we receivd 36hs later a new set of keys, w/o further costs, incl all instructions. We are excited about the exceptional customer service of this company. Many thanks indeed!!

Poor product design and quality
Poor product design and quality, very poor support and no service.
I rent a unit with a roof window and it hadn't been opened for a long while. I found the actuator was leaking water from the chain mechanism. As an engineer I tried to dismantle the unit but the design makes it impossible once the chain mechanism has seized up.
After contacting SE controls, I was informed this large expensive part was a throw away and a new one was needed. When asked about the price I was requested for all my personal information, inc address to get a quote. Personal info today and privacy laws are being abused on a daily basis and SE controls is no different. Would love to see their GDPR policy.
Anyhow, I refused to give any info as it's just s quote but they refused categorically and said to contact a 3rd party to get the part and install it. Which I do not need. I need a quote to ensure my landlord doesnt claim this back on me and if reasonable have him purchase the part which is simply plug and play.
That said, the quality of these parts is poor. The design is poor and the customer service or lack of is probably the worst I've come across in a long time.
